A GEORGE III TORTOISESHELL VENEERED IVORY STRUNG SILVER MOUNTED TEA CADDYOf compressed decagonal shape, 11cm wide; 14 cm highCondition report: Six sections of ivory veneered banding missing and replaced with sections of blond wood veneer. A further section of ivory inlay missing from the lid, which hasn’t been replaced, and a small section of banding missing from the rim of the inside. The hinge has been resecured at some point. Losses to the silvered foil inside. Tarnishing to the metal work. General light wear to tortoiseshell but in relatively good condition, considering age and use.
