A Regency rosewood tea caddy, of sarcophagus form with brass inlay raised on paw feet17 x 31 x 15cmCondition report: Marking to the top left hand side of the lid. Brass inlay has warped slightly on the top. Minor chip to the top left surface measuring 0.4mm. Scratching and markings to the extermies consistent with age and use. Minor warping to the wood on the brass inlay near the join. Handle on the side are structally loose and move when touched. Inside has a loss of handle which is provided and later lid in the center. The right lid does not sit flat and there is wear to the inside of the compartments and also lining in the central compartment and lid cover. The back legis structually loose but attached - feet appear to later.
A 19th century sycamore and pen work caddy, with Mauchline panel by Lammie of Cumnock depicting huntsman with hounds "Death of The Fox". Width 14 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The caddy is in extremely good order. We can see no evidence of any repairs or restoration. The top is flat and not warped and there are no splits. The hinges operate as they should. There are no splits to the base panels or base itself. The feet appear to be original. The only minor issue is the original lead lining is largely perished.
