Treen to include: a George III period (circa 1800) two-division rosewood tea caddy (minus central glass mixing bowl); a heavy African style fruit bowl carved in relief with animals to include elephants, rhinoceros and others; a modern specimen wood dish (Imbuya); a North African style oval serving tray and a jewellery box with parquetry geometric patterns and mother of pearl.
A late 18th/early 19th century George III period mahogany and cross-banded caddy-topped chest; brushing slide above three full-width graduated drawers with stamped brass ovals decorated in low relief with the Prince of Wales plume, shaped apron and raised on high, slightly splaying French bracket style feet (85 x 44 x 93.5 cm)* Condition: Good colour - has been repolished at some time. With one key and all locks working. Later handles. Baize to brushing slide has some moth damage. Old spirit stains and a few small matted patches to the polish to top. No splits to sides. Original backboards. A few small veneer chips to edges of feet and drawers and a few old veneer repairs to the edges of the front. Good overall.

Robert Parkinson of Lancaster - an early George II oak cased 30 hr longcase clock, c 1740, with a flat caddy top, broad frieze beneath and glazed panels to the sides, square hood door with attached pilasters and wooden capitals, long trunk and conforming door with a flat top, plinth raised on bracket feet, square brass dial with spandrels, single steel hand, date aperture and makers name, silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals, half hour markers, and an unusual quarter hour and seven-and-a-half minute inner track, dial pinned directly to a count wheel striking movement with a recoil anchor escapement, striking the hours on a bell. He graduated from the Art Department at the University of Seoul. In 1969, he studied lacquer art under Sato Teiichi (1899-1972). In 1971, he won a prize at the Nihon Dento Kogeiten (Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition).

Weight: 77 g (excl. the box) Dimensions: Height 7.5 cmSoetsu Nakamura, born in Ishikawa Prefecture in 1932, learned the art of lacquering from his father in 1946 and dedicated himself to training. In 1967, he received tea ceremony instruction from Sowa Nakao. Nakamura obtained prestigious awards at the National Lacquerware Exhibition, including the Forestry Agency Commissioner's Award in 1979, the Governor's Award in 1982, and the Seishitsu Association Award in 1983. He has received numerous awards at national lacquerware exhibitions, and in 1987, he received the tea ceremony name Sokyo.
