An unusual rosewood Tunbridge ware tea caddy of sarcophagal form, the front with a panel of cube work within a border of geometric mosaic, the canted lid with two bands of geometric mosaic enclosing a central panel of a marquetry butterfly flanked by diamond panels in stick ware (slight loss to point of one). The interior with paper lined lid over a cut glass footed mixing bowl flanked by rosewood lids, on bun feet, 30.5 x 15 x 16cms.

A Chinese porcelain Armorial tea service, Qianlong (1735-1796), bearing the Williams-Wynn Coat of Arms, comprising; a teapot and cover, 13cm high, four coffee cups, three teabowls, four saucers, a milk jug, a slop bowl, and a tea caddy (15) (at fault) Provenance; Llangedwyn Hall Condition Report: Each piece shows srface scratches and areas of gilt wear of varying degrees (more so to the rims than the coat of arms). Polychrome decoration appears bright and vivid but flaking can be seen to the turquoise located on two saucers. Spear head borders to each piece worn. Pitting visible. Large section missing to the slop bowl (majority of the pieces are present). Milk jug with re-glued section and chipped rim. Teapot cover rim with chip. Two saucers missing sections (pieces not present), one of which is also extensively cracked and re-glued. One saucer with hairline crack to the centre. One saucer with small chipped rim and descending hairline crack. One tea bowl with chip to rim with descending hairline crack. One coffee cup with chipped footrim. Further coffee cup with chipped rim and descending hairline crack. Nibbles and small chips can be seen to some rims to the pieces.

A VICTORIAN SILVER OVAL TEA CADDY BY JAMES GARRARDLONDON 1889With an urn shaped finial to the flat hinged cover, engraved with a coat of arms, 135.5cm (5 1/4in) long, 534g (17.15 oz)These are the arms of Viscount Templetown of County Antrim Ireland, a title in the Peerage of Ireland. Although the assay date of 1889 would suggest that the engraving was carried out for George Frederick UPTON (1802-1890), the 3rd Viscount, I suspect that the arms were intended for Henry Edward Montagu Dorington Clotworthy UPTON (1853-1939), 4th Viscount, son of the 3rd Viscount. The ancestral seat is at Castle Upton, County Antrim. The blazon: sable, a cross moline or crest: on a ducal coronet gold a warhorse passant sable bridled, saddled and accoutred of the first supporters: dexter - a warhorse sable caparisoned as the crest. sinister - a knight in complete armour proper, garnished or, the plume on his helmet gules, holding in his sinister arm a shield charged with the arms of UPTON motto: VIRTUTIS AVORUM PRAEMIUM Condition Report: Hinge tight, cover sits well, no key, light scratches commensurate with age and use, engraving fine.
