A circa 1900 French faience bough pot with armorial decoration, together with a Sampson of Paris tea caddy with armorial decoration CONDITION REPORTS The faience bough pot has all over crazing, various firing faults, general wear and tear including wear to the enamel, dirt, etc. Tea caddy has wear to the enamel, chips, black marks etc, general wear and tear and dirt.
A 19th Century Tunbridgeware tea caddy of sarcophagus form, the rising lid decorated with Windsor Castle and opening to reveal a fitted interior with panel of a timber framed house, the two canisters decorated with floral medallions, flanking a hobnail cut glass bowl, the sides with scrollwork banding, raised on ebonised squat bun feet CONDITION REPORTS Colours are strong throughout. There is some slight lifting to the edges of the decoration. There is a little bit of cracking to the veneers. Along the lid there is a crack running from the edge from one corner to about two thirds of the way along. There is also an area of the left back panel along plain edges about 6cm long where the edge is slightly splitting away from the main body. The front corner from the lid down is missing a piece of plain decoration and the other corner is missing about half of its edge. The front edge of the caddy - plain beading is missing from right corner, approx two-thirds. The back left corner - top edge is missing approx 1cm of beading, the other side is missing about two-thirds of the beading along the back edge and is missing the whole piece across the top of the lid edge. One side there is a small square section approx 0.5 x 1cm piece missing above foot. Feet show signs of wear. There are signs of some shrinkage and cracking throughout the Tunbridgeware. Glass - cannot guarantee whether this is original. Interiors seem to be original and show some signs of general wear. The foil is still present in both caddies. A Chinese marriage style ginger jar with foliate decoration and script, a Rington's Limited Tea Merchants of Newcastle-upon-Tyne "Willow" pattern tea caddy and a cut glass water jug CONDITION REPORTS Chinese jar has firing faults, surface scratches, some nibbles to the inside rim and chips to the rim base, does not ring true when tapped so possible fault line - although cracks not visible with the naked eye. Glass jug has nibbles and surface scratches. All items have general wear and tear to include dirt, scratches etc.
