Herbert Dyer (1898-1974); a Newlyn-inspired copper tea caddy, square sectioned, hammered in relief with images of St Michael's Mount, fish and yacht, height 16cm. Herbert Dyer was active during the 1920s-30s working from Mousehole and was heavily influenced by the Newlyn school. CONDITION REPORT Mild scratching to panel with St Michael's Mount, three small scratches to side with to side with fish, mild wear commensurate with use.
A late 18th century black basalt teapot with floral leaf and fern decoration and a floral knop, length 26cm, and a 19th century ebonised tea caddy, carved rams head and garland decoration to the lid over four carved panels, lions head amongst foliage, a panther head amongst foliage, and to carved panels of fruit and flowers, on metal floral supports, height 8cm (2). CONDITION REPORT 4 rim chips approx 3mm each around rim of teapot. Tea caddy has extensive wear to ebonised body and lid. Scrapes to body and handles missing, one chip to top of one flower, mild surface wear and chips throughout, replacement finial.
A 19thC mahogany tea caddy, the sarcophagus shaped lid hinging to reveal a fitted interior with (removable) glass mixing bowl, 17cm high, 30cm wide, 17cm deep, and a quantity of various pottery tiles, Doulton series ware, Doulton shaped dish polychrome decorated with garlands, etc. (a quantity)
A 20thC Japanned caddy top bracket clock, with fixed metal handle, dome top and domed 12cm wide dial with circular Roman numeric chapter ring, revealing an eight day movement behind a stencilled face on bracket feet, smothered with gilt coloured flowers on a turquoise ground and a modern terrestrial table globe, articulated at the axis.
