A Regency tortoiseshell veneered and pewter strung tea caddy of rectangular form, the shallow domed top with white metal plaque bearing indistinct ownership initials, opening to reveal a vacant interior with ivory banded edge, the key escutcheon of white metal, 15.5 cm wide x 8.5 cm deep x 11 cm high (Ivory Reg No EB4J87VS)
A late George III satinwood and marquetry inlaid oval tea caddy, the top with stylised shell medallion, within a barber pole style stringing, over a fan marquetry inlaid medallion with kite shaped ivory key escutcheon, 14.5 cm wide x 10 cm deep x 11.5 cm high (Ivory Reg No. EDKJ9RS) CONDITION REPORTS Lid doesn't sit quite flat. On the back there is some gapping between the different types of wood and on the left hand sides there are some odd holes/pins to the wood although nothing evident to the interior. There is also a section of banding missing to the left hand side of the hinge. There are some other areas of wood missing throughout. The felt at the bottom is very worn. Obviously the colour throughout is faded. The interior tinning is missing throughout and the bottom plate is misshapen. Possible replacement hinge and there is damage to the lid's fitting on the interior. General wear and tear conducive with age and use - see images for more details. No key.

There is slight damage and loss to the area in front of the brass lock. The baize to the base has damage and loss. Interior zinc lining with remnants showing, otherwise poor condition. A late Georgian tortoiseshell tea caddy with four bun feet, the body of curved form with hinged cover opening to show ivory border/trim, two removable tortoiseshell covers revealing zinc lined tea compartments, plated key hole surround (no key), approx. 14.8cm wide x 8.5cm high x 9.5cm deep. Further details: large impact damage to corner of cover having long crack, loss and damage, hinges are detached from cover so cover lifts off, tortoiseshell otherwise has small signs of loss, some loss to zinc areas, cloudy areas and nibbles, one bun feet has been replaced in past, surface scratching and wear commensurate to age/usage.
