Also with an early 20thc tea caddy, brightly painted with vases of flowers to each side (12cms high). Both with wooden stands, the caddy with a wooden lid (not original). (2) *Provenance, formally owned by Lieutenant Commander Henry Radcliffe James, who lived at Edgeworth Manor near Stroud, and has passed through the family. *CR Box, seems generally fine, small very small firing cracks to the footrim (from manufacture). Stand, one foot has been repaired.Caddy, lid not original, tiny flea bites down the edges (very minor), some chips to the raised decoration on each side (foliage border). Stand, generally fine - small chip to the pierced base (T section), lid - small slither out of the base of the lid.

A LATE 18TH/ EARLY 19TH CENTURY AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN SEWING ETUI. of tapering form, with faceted sides and engraved & chased decoration, unscrewing in several sections to reveal a needle case & thimble, struck with two indistinct duty marks, together with a trick-opening vesta case, inscribed, a caddy spoon in the form of a jockey cap, an engraved toothpick box, a compact decorated with an enamel hunting scene and a mounted tortoiseshell dressing table box, mixed makers & dates; the latter box 3" (7.6cm) high; 5ozt (5). *CR All pieces with wear & in mixed conditions, the foot of the etui has been repaired.
