Height 19.5 cms x 36 cms x 21.5 cms.
An unusual 19th Century Regency sarcophagus shaped tortoiseshell and ivory Tea Caddy, the rectangular top with pewter stringing and a vacant silver cartouche, opening to reveal two similarly decorated compartmentalised sections with tortoisshell lids with ivory knobs, the bow front caddy flanked with four columns on a stepped base supported on turned ivory bun feet, 13.5 cms x 17.5 cms.

The exterior of tea caddy with seven losses to tortoiseshell veneer, the largest a 2``-long loss to lower edge of left side, and small losses to lids of compartments; a few pieces retained. The tea caddy lacking key. The cigarette case with a 3.5``-long loss to ivory on lid interior. The push-button clasp of cigarette case does not appear to function. The velvet lining of the tea caddy`s lid and of the cigarette case are later replacements. The foil lining of tea caddy probably a later replacement. Condition: Overall good condition. General marks, scratches and rubbed wear commensurate with age and use. Wear to decoration of lid and end panels fairly heavy. Three chipped losses to exterior- one.25`` to front edge of lid; one.5`` to rear right corner of lid, and one.5`` along bottom front edge. A.25`` chip to rim of lid interior. Eighteenth century Scottish longcase clock with eight day movement, silvered break arch dial with engraved spandrels, subsidiary second dial and calendar aperture, break arch signed - John Peatt Crieff, flanked by engraved hypocamps, in a mahogany case with full length arched door, the hood with fluted columns, dentil cornice and caddy top with central pierced panel, 214cm overall height CONDITION REPORT Good overall condition is fair. Movement has been cleaned but we are unable to say whether it is in full working order. Dial silvering is marked and scratched, some damage around winding holes. Minute hand is missing and dial may not be original to movement. Seat board has been raised and movement and case may be a marriage. Overall, case is good, trunk door hinges have been replaced, hood is missing one side glass and all three finials are lacking. Fretted decoration is damaged
