Goodyer & Son of Guildford - George II mid 18th century 8-day oak longcase clock, c1740, with a caddy top and deep cornice with a blind frieze beneath, hood with glazed side panels, square hood door with attached pillars and gesso capitals, plain rectangular trunk with a long flat topped door on a plain plinth with applied skirting, brass dial with a matted centre and ring turned key holes, small seconds dial and square date aperture, slivered chapter ring with Roman numerals, five minute Arabic's, minute and quarter hour tracks and fretted steel hands, dial pinned directly to a two train weight driven rack striking movement with five ring turned movement pillars, striking the hours on a bell, with repeat chord. Jonas Barber of Winster - a George III oak longcase clock, the hood with a caddy top and blind carved frieze, above a 10¼" square brass dial, having silvered chapter ring, cast brass spandrels, matted centre and with rolling date aperture, 30-hour weight driven movement striking on a bell, the case with crossbanding and raised on bracket feet, h.218cm, with weights and pendulumClock runs.Stands well.Case good with minor age wear only.Some veneer blistering and replacements to head.Seat board and cheeks replaced.Back of trunk reinforced.Dial and movement look to have been over-hauled, probably in the last 20-30 years.

A Good Month Going Chiming Centre Seconds Longcase Clock, signed Samuel Norton, Yarmouth, circa 1770, caddied pediment with brass ball finials, well figured trunk door, framed quatre form moulded plinth, 14-inch arched brass dial with a silvered chapter ring, finely engraved centre with a basket of flowers and scroll decoration, date aperture, arch with strike/silent selection, large eight pillar triple weight driven movement, quarter chiming with five hammers striking a nest of five bells and a larger bell for the hours 274cm highRe-built caddy, pierced frets are later, well figured case with good colour, front of the case with some cracks and the surfaces are slightly lifting in parts, later door locks, later piece of wood has been added around the trunk door escutcheon, scuff marks to the sides, front of the plinth with some later mouldings and the surface has ripple marks, silvered chapter rings are faded, movement looks clean, signs of a later escape wheel and pallets, with three weights and a pendulum.
A George III Silver Tea-Caddy, by Edward Cooper, London, 1775 of drum-form, the sides engraved with foliage, further engraved with a crest within ribbon-tied cartouche, the hinged cover with tea leaf and flower-cast finial11.5cm high, 8oz 19dwt, 279grFully marked underneath and further marked inside cover with lion passant. There is some wear to the marks but they are in general still legible. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The lock is probably later and the key is lacking.
A Queen Anne Silver Tea-Caddy, by David Willaume, London, 1711 tapering oblong and on stepped foot, one side engraved with a crest, the sliding cover with domed pull-off cap11.5cm high, 7oz 18dwt, 245grFully marked under base. The sliding cover further part marked with maker's mark and leopard's head erased. The domed cover further marked inside with maker's mark. The marks under base and inside cover clear. The marks on the sliding cover, particularly the leopard's head erased with some wear. There is overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There is a repair around the sleeve on the sliding cover and the surface is somewhat uneven. The surface is overall somewhat bright.
