The service is decorated in the export style, with gilding on the rims or handles. A Regency gonzalo alves tea caddyc.1820of sarcophagus form, inlaid with stringing, the hinged lid with a 18th century style print to its underside and twin lids, ends with gilt metal loop handles, on brass ball feet, together with a Regency rosewood example, the interior twin lidded, on bun feet, and a George III burr elm caddy, c.1800, with banding and stringing and a twin lidded interior, (3)Largest rosewood example, width 20cmCondition: The first caddy has two replaced hinges and does not shut neatly. Interior later foiled. The rosewood example has an old repair to one lid and a key that does not work the lock, so the lid does not shut as it should. The third caddy has dry veneers and a crude repair to the rear corner of its lid, some stringing lacking.
