TEA CADDY WITH FLORAL POKER WORK DECORATION AND FITTED INTERIOR

Lot 1027

An agate glazed pottery tea caddy, early 19th century, height 11cm. Condition report: Two glaze flakes to rim, two glaze chips to top of moulded decoration, two glaze chips to foot.

Lot 1028

A Bovey Tracey press moulded and underglaze painted tea caddy, late 18th century, with replacement white metal lid, height 13cm. Condition report: Chip to rim, slight glaze to one corner.

Lot 1135

A German porcelain part tea service, 18th century, floral decorated in purple and gold, possibly Limbach, underglaze blue factory marks to base, comprising teapot, sugar bowl and cover, milk jug, tea caddy and various cups and saucers. Condition report: Small shaped dish but for firing flaw on foot, teapot (red mark) good but for tiny chip on inner rim, box and cover good, tea caddy good but lacks lid, jug (blue mark) good but for foot rim chip. All pieces have scratching & wear commensurate with age, a few pieces are marked (see images). Of the seventy five fluted saucers, one is chipped & cracked, another has a tiny chip & a third has a large chip from foot ring. Two cups & four tea bowls, no obvious damage but several rims may have been ground down.

A George III period hallmarked Britannia standard silver (probably Irish) tea caddy with sliding lid above the main body decorated repoussé style in the chinoiserie taste, the central cartouche with foliate decoration and 'C' scrolls and engraved with an armorial crest, the sliding lid decorated with a pagoda-style building flanked by fir trees (10cm high (including lid), approx. 211g)There are no hallmarks to the lid apparent.  The four hallmarks are directly above the ‘C’ scrolls on the cartouche which is engraved with an armorial.
