An English oak triple fusee musical boardroom clock, the 7¼in. silvered Roman chapter ring on an arched plate with engraved scrolling foliage, the arch with subsidiary chime/silent, slow/fast and 8 Bells/Westminster dials to the arch, the movement playing on a nest of eight graduated bells and striking the quarters on four gongs and the hours on a larger gong, within a foliate, floret and curled ribbon carved oak case surmounted by a caddy top, 24in. Lot 154 and part of Lot 214.Footnote: Medina was a handsome 12,358 ton P&O liner built by Caird & Co. in 1911 for the London-Australia route. Chartered as a Royal Yacht to take King George V and Queen Mary to the Delhi Durbar of 1911, she was delivered to P&O in 1912 and remained in service during the Great War. She was torpedoed by U-31 off Start Point on 28th April, 1917 and her wreck is upright with a 15° list to port allowing for the partial salvage of some of her forward compartments.
