A George IV rosewood tea caddy, of sarcophagus form, applied with ivory ring handles, upon ivory ball feet, the interior with two compartments each with a satinwood and rosewood cross banded hinged cover, flanking a facet cut glass mixing bowl, 17cm H x 35cm W x 16cm D Trevanion & Dean does not ship items containing ivory outside the EU. Trevanion & Dean recommends that buyers check with their own government regarding any importation requirements prior to placing a bid. Late 19th Century Italian Sorrento-ware olive wood and marquetry tea caddy, the hinged rectangular cover decorated with a couple and their donkey, the underside with a couple dancing to a mandolin player, above two cannisters with similar decoration, and conforming panels to front, sides and rear, stamped to front edge of 'Michele Grandville In Sorrento', 26.5cm wide Condition: Cover has general horizontal grain cracking and splitting, stains, pock marks etc. Front left corner of cover is cracked and has veneer loss. Interior is of good colour but there are losses to the tops of the bodies of both cannisters. Further grain splitting to sides. Some minor marks to front including scuffing around escutcheon, overall general wear commensurate with age and use. **General condition consistent with age
