A George III silver jockey cap caddy spoon, London 1802, makers initials rubbed. CONDITION REPORT: Generally extremely good condition with no repairs and no restoration. The hallmarks are legible with the exception of the first letter of the maker's name. The brim of the cap shows slight undulations as the gauge of the silver is reasonably thin but this is probably to be expected.
A silver tea caddy, with pineapple finial, Birmingham 1902. Width 10 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: 213 6grams. The condition is generally very good. The finial is not loose. The hinge is in good order. There is a solder mark underneath the pineapple finial on the underside edge of the lid but this is probably part of the original manufacture. The lid closes correctly and the side handles are in good order as are the feet. There is no inscription and no significant dents.
A late Victorian mahogany bowfronted chest of drawers, being boxwood and ebony strung, with caddy top, four drawers with brass drop handles and cockbeading to each drawer front, with shaped apron and raised on bracket feet. Width 84 cm, depth 56 cm, height 82 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The chest of drawers is in generally good condition. The top has numerous old scratches, marks and scuffs that one would expect. There are however no significant losses. There is one small stress fracture to the veneer to the top right hand corner. The polish is a little thin in places. All drawer fronts are in good condition with no problems with the cockbeading. The handles appear to be original. There are no extra handle holes in the backs of the drawers. Having carefully looked at the chest of drawers it is in our opinion not George III but late 19th century.
