LATE 19TH CENTURY COMPREHENSIVE CANTEEN OF ELKINGTON AND CO. SILVER PLATE CUTLERY in fitted mahogany square section box with brass presentation plaque to Mr John Morris Jones by the directors and shareholders of M. Woodward and Sons Ltd. on the occasion of his marriage, Liverpool, October, 1898. The fitted interior revealing fish knives and forks, various forks, knives and spoons, vine scissors, caddy spoons, cheese scoop, knife rests, nutcrackers, fish carvers, sauce ladles, fruit spoons, napkin rings etc. 33 x 52 x 42cm deep.(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Box in good overall condition, some minor surface wear and scratches, but fairly solid, appears fairly complete on inspection, one carver knife appears to be missing in third drawer down, there also appears to be an additional three napkin rings with are silver, a small silver spoon and silver caddy spoon in addition. (key not visible).
19TH CENTURY PORCELAIN MEISSEN RECTANGULAR, ARCHED TOPPED TEA CADDY AND COVER, decorated with reserve panels of figures and floral sprays within gilt borders, on a cobalt blue ground, blue underglazed cross swords mark to base, together with similar Continental porcelain lidded cup and saucer, decorated with floral sprays within gilt borders on cobalt blue ground. Underglazed cross sword marks to base. (4) (B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Minor gilt ware in places. Branch on bud finial lost some gilding. Otherwise items appear OK.

Both caddies with matching hallmarks for London 1774 maker Samuel Wood (Jacksons attribution) height of caddies 14cm, overall height 21.5cm
