A George I brass mounted horn tea caddy, of globular form. Diameter 11.5 cm. Sold with copy receipt dated 1995 from Alistair Sampson Antiques for £2600 (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The caddy is in generally very good condition. The lock, hinges and handle are original and they are all in good condition. The lock is open. We do not have a key. The lower half of the caddy is in generally very good condition with no losses, damage, repair or restoration. The top half of the casket has a stress fracture to the right hand side approximately 2 ins from the lock. This should be clear on our images. Other than this condition is extremely good.
A Regency/William IV inlaid mother of pearl tea caddy, sarcophagus form, width 33 cm, a miniature parquetry chest of drawers, a small Treen stool and a tea caddy. CONDITION REPORT: Small Stool - One leg is loose in its joint. All legs seem to be original. We can see no repairs. There are a few old woodworm holes and nibbles around the feet. The top of the piece is in generally good order with no splits, major losses or repairs.
A George III coconut tea caddy, with silver coloured metal mounts. Diameter 10 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Generally very good condition. All metalwork including the hinge and closing plate are in good condition with no losses or damage. The coconut husk itself is also in good order with no significant cracks or splits. The base is in good order.
A George III tortoiseshell octagonal tea caddy. Height 10.7 cm, width 9.2 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This caddy is in generally very good condition. The button operating the closing mechanism is missing. Other than this the caddy is in really extremely good order with no condition issues. There has been a minor old repair around the rear hinge. The interior lid has had some edge tortoiseshell veneer repairs. The interior lead lining is mostly perished.
19TH CENTURY LARGE SARCOPHAGUS SHAPED TEA CADDY raised on four bun feet, having fitted interior and central glass mixing bowl flanked by two tea canisters, velvet lined. 33cm wide x 17.5cm deep x 20cm high. CONDITION REPORT: One of the tea canisters inside is missing one part of the section of a side, some minor chippings as well to tortoiseshell on tea canisters. Velvet lining is worn and ripped in places. Large split to front section of lid. Losses to tortoiseshell in areas, some bubbling etc.
Silver, comprising; an oval hinge lidded tea caddy, Birmingham 1919, a five bar toast rack, Sheffield 1931, three condiments, comprising; a mustard pot with a blue glass liner and a spoon, a salt with a blue glass liner and a spoon and a pepperette, also an oval trinket dish detailed 'Sterling', combined weight 339 gms and a plated toast rack (9).
