19th century Irish coromandel tea caddy, with brass strap work mounts, two internal compartments with push button release, the mounts inscribed `green` and `black`, later glass bowl, marked `Austin, maker, Dublin`, 12" wide, It is known that George Austin had premises at 6 -7 St. Andrew Street and 9 William Street at least until 1850, when the City Directory lists him as ‘fancy cabinet manufacturer and cabinet warerooms’. By 1861 the business had moved to 39 Westmoreland St. Dublin.
