A 17th Century Italian Tortoiseshell, Brass & Ebonised Cabinet on Stand. The top section incorporating a small cabinet fitted with variously sized drawers and flanked by large scroll brackets veneered with tortoiseshell. The middle section having a large portico door with arched pediment and two Corinthian columns flanking a niche with gilt bronze statuette of a man; the interior housing three drawers. The protruding side sections having caddy tops applied with grotesque face masks above four drawers centred by tortoiseshell cushion moulded rectangular panels with brass dog head handles & foliate cast borders. The stand having conforming columns of drawers surmounted by face mask appliqués and raised on bun feet 65 ins (165 cms) in height, 49 ins (125 cms) in width, 24 ins (61 cms) in depth. ]
A French black slate clock, with architectural case having a Gothic finial to each corner, with caddy top to centre with pineapple finial, the dial with applied metal Roman numerals and with visible Brocot escapement and two-train movement by Mougin, flanked by fluted columns with Corinthian capitals and with stepped base, the whole incised with leaves and bellflower. Width 14.25 ins (see illustration).
A George III oak and mahogany crossbanded longcase clock by Ashton Tidswell, having a caddy top with moulded cornice and blind fretwork frieze in turn above a crossbanded glazed door flanked by simple turned columns and enclosing the silvered brass dial and eight-day movement by Ashton Tidswell with Roman numerals and subsidiary Arabic numerals to the chapter ring and with seconds dial and date aperture, in turn above the long trunk door inlaid with a star burst and with conforming base. A pair of Verre Eglomise cabinets 1920s, each with a caddy top with floral and scroll moulded edge, over a pair of moulded, glass panelled doors with verre eglomise decoration depicting a faux Royal crest within a husk and acanthus border, enclosing two adjustable shelves, on a floral, shell and acanthus moulded stand with cabriole supports, 62.5in (158.5cm) high x 36in (91.5cm) wide.
