A 19th century lacquered rectangular tea caddy box with bone veneered lining to the hinged cover and rim, zinc lining to the inside body, applied bird and floral gilt decoration and an unmarked silver plated cartouche to the top. Approximately 13cm high. Further details: The hinge detaches from the body, slight loss to bone veneer, some slight signs of wear to the decoration. Generally okay. (1)

A Regency ebonised miniature timepiece, by Grimaldi & Johnson, Strand, London, the case with an inverted bell caddy top surmounted by a brass carry handle, above a brass-lined door and conforming sides, on turned brass feet, the four-inch silvered dial with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds, moon hands and signature, the four-pillar single-fusee movement, with anchor escapement and adjustable locking nut pendulum, the backplate signed,15cm wide11cm deep26.5cm high,together with an ebonised wall bracket, with gilt-brass gallery,20cm high (2)Provenance: Maurice 'Dick' Turpin, Barons Keep, London W14.Condition ReportCase In fair to good overall condition. Shrinkage splits evident throughout, more apparent to sides and top of case. Crack to veneer on rear door but appears stable. Some wear and rubbing to ebonised finish and gilt lacquered brass. Brass possibly missing to rear door but no evidence of it previously. General other marks, scuffs, knocks and wear commensurate with age and use. No key for case or winding.Dial Wear and surface scratches to the silvered dial, exaggerated around the winding hole.Movement The movement appears tidy but in need of a service. A vacant hole to back of plate. The plates are supported by brackets attached to the carcass of the case. Pendulum rod bent above bob, possibly due to the nut being over tightened in the past. George III (1760-1820) green tortoiseshell tea caddy, approx 19 x 10 x 11 cms. The caddy interior is faced in boxwood enclosing two tortoiseshell-fitted lids mounted with ivory knob. The lids open to reveal a foil lined storage compartment. The top with canted corners has a silver initial plaque AB and a silver escutcheon.
