A late 18th/early 19th century mahogany tea caddy, with inlaid decoration and secret caddy spoon drawer, 25 cm wide See illustration Condition report Report by GH Occasional losses to inlay and veneer on the lid, particularly on the front edge. The far right of the front edge has around 2 mm of beading missing, and towards the centre, there are two sections of replaced beading. The main body presents well with occasional cracks to the inlay, but no notable losses or damage. One tiny piece of the ebonised veneer on the star at the back of the caddy is missing (approx. 2 mm in length). Internally, the right hand metal compartment is missing its neck and lid. Otherwise good. Secret drawer attachment and secret drawer work well. Overall presents very well with wear and losses commensurate with age and use.
A Regency mahogany tea caddy, with painted decoration and initialled K M, with lion mask handles and on bun feet, 19 cm wide See illustration Condition report Report by GH Suspect paint is possibly more recent than the box itself. Chips, scratches and gouges commensurate with age. Area of replaced veneer to the back, above the right hand hinge when opened, this hinge is also loose, and there are splits in the wood around the screws. Corners of the box are chipped with some loss to veneer, and there is a veneer split on the back of the box on the main body, running from left to right diagonally. Internally, the felt is a little bit tatty but generally fair. Overall presents well.

An early Victorian burr yew wood sarcophagus tea caddy, the hinged lid enclosing two lidded compartments and central glass bowl, raised on four squat bun feet, width 31cm. CONDITION REPORT: Description states early Victorian to indicate date of manufacture. Key present, lock is intact. Few areas of scratches. Minor splits and wear to veneer on lid and front (commensurate with age, natural splits where "inclusions" are). Lids of containers, the same. Comparing colour of lid and containers, it seems that the outside is mildly faded. Repair to the bottom edge of front (approx 10cm). Scratches to base, wear to feet and handles. Postage within UK would cost £18 + VAT.
