An early 19th century tortoiseshell dome topped tea caddy with pewter stringing, and two tortoiseshell veneered lids (for restoration), width 15cm. CONDITION REPORT: The reverse of the lid has an area of approximately 4 x 1.5cm of repair to one hinge, there is also a small section of veneer missing beneath the hinge, the other section has a 5 x 1.5cm section of both veneer and timber missing where the hinge has broken, there is also a small repair above this. We have two feet present at the moment and we have three additional feet to the interior of the caddy which are larger than the ones present. There is also a corner of one of the lids which has been repaired and the further corners show pin head sized lacks in the tortoiseshell. The ivory platforms to the top of the base section and underside of the lid also shows signs of staining and wearing.
A George III mahogany bracket clock case and dial with later brass eight day cylinder movement, the brass break arch dial with a silvered strike/silent indicator above a silvered chapter ring framing a matt centre with date aperture and inscribed `William Clayton London`, the case with brass handle and caddy top above pierced fret panels on a plinth base and bracket feet, height approx 49cm, with pendulum and winder.
A Georgian inlaid black lacquered rectangular flat top tea caddy, with rosewood carcass, the hinged lid with floral entwined scrolled lettering 'THE', opening to reveal two compartment interior with traces of original lining, height 12.5cm, width 22.2cm, depth 10.6cm (missing three corner veneered mouldings)
