[chi]1r e al verso della tavola 23.Rarissima prima edizione di questo manuale di pittura e disegno, opera del padovano Gaspare Colombina (1580 ca.-1651) e illustrata dall'artista fiammingo Philipp Esengren (1594-1631). "Il volume, erroneamente attribuito dallo Schlosser (1964) nella sua integrità allo Hesengrin, è assai raro: un esemplare, più ampio di quello descritto da C. Bianconi al Comolli (1791) e da ritenere pertanto manipolato con l'inserimento di tavole estrapolate da un'opera autonoma (Il perfetto disegno, s. l. né d.) dell'incisore, proveniente dal monastero benedettino di Praglia, si conserva presso la Bibl. univers. di Padova (Cessi, 1958)." Interessante manuale dedicato alla cura e all'allevamento dei cavalli, corredato da 4 belle tavole raffiguranti La toilette, La prairie, Cheval malade en box e Le hangar. Due solo siglate dall'artista belga Félicien Rops (1833-1898). L'autore, il veterinario britannico John Stewart (1810-1896), pubblicò l'opera in lingua originale nel 1838 e ancora un secolo dopo era considerata un classico della scienza veterinaria.8° (220x135 mm). 336, [2] pages; 4 lythographic plates (two signed 'Félicien Rops) and illustrations in the text. Light browning, some foxing and stains. Contemporary percaline over pasteboards, gilt title on the spine. Abraded and waterstained. Interesting manual concerning the rearing of horses, with 4 beautiful plates showing La toilette, La prairie, Cheval malade en box and Le hangar: two are signed by the Belgian artist Félicien Rops (1833-1898). The author of the textbook - first published in 1838 and considered a classical text still a century later - is the british veterinary John Stewart (1810-1896).
