A VAST ARCHIVE OF ORIGINAL WORLD WAR ONE LETTERS, DOCUMENTS AND TRAINING MANUALS, this archive is mainly dated 1915 and 1916 and features instructions from the midland division of the Leicestershire Regiment, also included are numerous training manual for using the Lewis Machine Guns and other notes about trench warfare and the use of gas, some of the document were originally highly confidential and sent to commanding officers in Etaples France, notable names on these documents include major G.A.E Chapman and major Sandbach C.B., DSO who was a career army officer who was involved in WWI, most notes are typed but there is a small amount of hand written items included, there are notes on how to build sand bags and notes on the work of Platoon commandos in the trenches, special divisional orders and a notes on the organisation of German trenches on the Western front in Verdun, also included is a guide to training machine gunners, this archive is still in good condition but a few of the notes have got tears and damage but the majority are still good, they have been mixed up so need sorting out into chronological order, this archive is well worthy of more in depth research, used in the 1970s to aid in the reserch of the publication of a book, Customers must satisfy themselves prior to sale in regards to conditions and authenticity, viewing is advised, condition reports are available on request
