Root wood western-made box (22.3 x 16.6 x 17.7 cm). Top w. bovine bone Babcock characters inlaid. The tiles (2.1 x 3.1 x 1.4 cm) are Chinese. Made of high quality thick bovine bone and a thin bamboo back. Beautifully engr. The counters are flat strips of French (faux) ivory. The dice (4x) are made of bovine bone in a sm. French faux ivory box. The wind discs are also made of faux ivory (w/o Ming-cylinder). The instruction manual is a French version of the ‘Lung Chan’ booklet (sc) dated 1924.
