1954 Jaguar Mark VII saloon, Registration No 280 BMT, chassis number DN721046, 3.4 litre straight six, manual with overdrive. This splendid classic Jaguar has black coachwork with original red hide upholstery. It is in very good overall condition having previously been a Jaguar Club concours winning car and has been well maintained with an extensive service and restoration history going back to 1965. The original interior is beautifully patinated and is complete with original carpets and headlining. It is now MOT exempt although the last MOT expires in June 2013. A lovely example of the marque and rarely found in this condition

A GILT METAL MANUAL WIND GENTLEMAN`S WRISTWATCH CIRCA 1945. Dial with brown central cestiom border by quarted hours and within an outer dial with alternate baton and roman numerals. Decorative plated bracelet circa 1950 and of reeded baton design. Watch in appareent working order. Overall condition good. Bracelet with signs of wear (base metal showing through) overall effect still good.

Reverse engraved on outside "J.A.S Feb 27th 1962". 9ct gold bracelet halmarked Birmingham 1966 on sliding clasp. 42grams gross. Good condition. Apparent working order. Needs a service. Bracelet a little slack but serviceable.

Reeded push fit reverse facsimilie engraved with personal message dated 1930 and with inscribed on inside "Rolex 20 world`s records. Great Britain Patents 260 554/1925 274.789. Victoria (Queen of Great Britain & Ireland, 1819-1901). A large framed certificate conferred on Phillip Mitchell by Queen Victoria on behalf of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, 30th December 1884, engraved with text within an ornate architectural border incorporating at the top a lunette depicting an artist painting a portrait of the Virgin Mary and Christ Child, and at the bottom a red seal, signed in ink by Queen Victoria ‘Victoria R.I.’ at the Royal Palace of Osborne, 45 x 35cm (17.75 x 14ins), mounted, framed and glazed. Phillip Mitchell (1814-1896) was a landscape and coastal painter who served in the Navy and later lived in Plymouth. He was largely self-taught and went on frequent sketching tours through Cornwall and as far afield as Derbyshire. He exhibited widely, and was elected a Member of the New Society of Painters in Watercolours (NWS) in 1879, having been an Associate since 1854. The NWS became the Institute of Painters in Water Colours in 1863, and subsequently added ‘Royal’ to its title by command of Queen Victoria, as commemorated in this certificate: ‘We are now pleased to confer upon the Members of that body a further mark of Our Royal Favour and Protection, by granting to them the honourable distinction of a Diploma under Our Royal Sign Manual’. To which is Added Fragmenta Regalia: Or, Observations on Queen Elizabeth, Her Times and Favourites, by Sir Robert Naunton, 2 parts in one, 3rd ed., 1694, engraved frontispiece, 5 pp. pubs. list at end, small annotation to title, later calf, spine with red labels, rubbed, 12mo. Attributed to Sir Francis Walsingham, this is in fact a translation by distant cousin Edward Walsingham of part two of Eustache de Refuge’s Traite des Cours, published anonymously in Paris in 1617, the first English edition appearing in 1652. The notebooks contain very detailed and technically produced notes and drawings for Merlin and Pegasus engines including carburation, ignition timing etc. Also notes of dealing with forced landing and crash procedures together with his official travel warrant dated 19/9/41.
