This example was bought by the present owner in the 1950's and has been in storage since the 1970's. New king pins and and bushes have recently been fitted and included are an Instruction Manual and Spares list. A Swansea V5C registration document is included.

Lot 1

1959 Bristol 406 Saloon, Reg.No. 249 UXL, Engine No. 110/5006, Chassis No. 406/5227. At the conclusion of the Second World War the Bristol Aeroplane Co. had the necessary precision engineering skills which the aircraft industry had demanded to commence manufacture of luxury motor cars which have occupied a well deserved place in this market. In the same ownership for over twenty years, there were but two owners previously; the car can be described as 'completely honest'; less than two hundred of the 406 were produced and it has been well maintained mechanically, it will now benefit from a little cosmetic attention, there is a large history file with the motor car including an Instruction Manual. This is a chance to acquire a high quality motor car at a very reasonable price. A Swansea registration document comes with the vehicle.

Lot 1

1913 White 30h.p. Model GAD Tourer, Car No. 17881. More famous for the manufacture of steam cars, Rollin H. White produced his first car in 1900 at Cleveland Ohio. They were extremely popular in the early years of the century but by 1910 petrol cars were being produced. Tennants are please to offer this completely original example which was extracted from a Nebraska barn (it still carries its Nebraska No. plate 45299 NEB) several years ago and has been in storage in this country ever since. An extremely rare motor car in its native country it is equipped with both electric lighting by Gray & Davis and an electric starting mechanism. It has a four speed gearbox and the magneto still has the original protective leather cover in place. Stopping power is provided by both internal expanding and external contracting brakes on the rear wheels, a common feature on several makes of American car of this period. Copies of an Instruction manual sales brochure etc. come with the car. It has detachable rims which make tyre changing easy in the event of a puncture. The upholstery is somewhat worn and would benefit from some sympathetic attention. There is no hood fitted as this was an optional extra and the new owner will be left with the difficult choice of either preserving the original or restoring this lovely old motor car. A very rare opportunity to acquire possibly the only White petrol propelled motor car in this country. No registration documentation comes with the car.
