Original ' DAILY ENGINE LOG BOOK' for Q.S.T.S. Queen Elizabeth - Cunard Steam-Ship Company, Voyage 483 : Cherbourg - Soton ( Southampton ), 21st.May - 3rd. June, 1968. A large, elephant folio sized, soft cover Log Book containing detailed single page daily charts with manual records of a wide range of engine room functions, performance and safety checks etc. Scarce document.
The Kaisar-I-Hind medal to Arthur Frederick Cox, C.S.I., Indian Civil Service: Kaisar-I-Hind, VR, 1st class in gold, hallmarked 1901, with suspension brooch and in Garrard case. A.F. Cox 1848-1925. Childhood spent in India; educated Ealing Great Schools and King's College; intended for a career in medicine but put off by a visit to a dissection room; passed Indian Civil Service Exam, winning a total of £120 in prize money for his proficiency in the Tamil and Tegu languages; posted to India 1871; wrote North Arcot District Manual while in the Revenue Department there; concerned in numerous interesting cases, including one in which British officials were extorting money from Indians, and a native assistant used a form of oath involving holding burning camphor to induce the victims to testify, Cox being in effect accused by the perpetrators of having used torture (the case reached Parliament, where all suggestion of wrongdoing was rejected); Judge in Madras 1887-89; Accountant General Bombay 1889-94; Comptroller and Auditor General Calcutta 1894-1906; critical of Indian Government fiscal policy - his views ultimately supported in London; Kaisar-I-Hind 1st Class 1901; retired 1906

A 1953 BSA A10 Golden Flash, registration number MBT 639, frame number BA7510504, gold/red. This A10 was originally fitted with a side-car and is registered to its first owner, a Mr Charles Loft from Bempton, Bridlington, Yorkshire. He would retain the BSA until 1967 when it was passed into the ownership of Mr John Polley also from Bempton. The next change of ownership took place in 1971 when it was sold to a Mr Stanley Coultas of Flambrough, who retained the BSA for two years until passing it on to Mr Peter Benson, who only retained the motorcycle for one year before John Robson purchased and retained it for the next 39 years before selling it to his brother in 2013. It would remain with him until 2017 when our vendor added it to his collection. The BSA retains its original registration number (non-transferable) and has been fitted with a factory replacement engine at some point possibly in its earlier life (ERS1541). Other departures from standard are an electronic ignition and stainless steel wheels with stainless steel spokes. A 1967 Royal Enfield Turbo Twin Sports, registration number TTW 67E, frame number 69065, engine number 701E-1394, red. Royal Enfield, Turbo Twin featured the Villiers 4T engine and Crusader frame to create a good handling light weight sports bike capable of 70mph and found a ready market with the new 250cc learner restricted rider. This example has been rebuilt by a previous owner and has formed part of a private collection in recent times. The Turbo Twin will be offered for sale with a history file containing two posters (reprints), the original RF60, previous MOTs, receipts, a tax disc and a Villiers engine workshop manual. A 1969 Triumph Bonneville, registration number VRX 65H, frame number HC23306, engine number DM65041242, red and grey. This restored and beautifully presented non matching numbers Bonneville has formed part of a private collection since acquisition in 1997. The Triumph has been extensively refurbished with either new or refurbished parts throughout including a cylinder head rebuild by SRM in 2012 and new carburettor. A 1940s gentlemen's Longines tank-style dress watch, high grade Calibre 9L manual wind with 17 gold-set jewels, original Longines 10kt gold filled case, cream enamel dial with gold applied Arabic and baton numerals and subsidiary seconds dial. CONDITION REPORT Appears to run when wound, small scratch to the top left corner of the face, as well as orange marks, losses to each corner of the case, surface wear and scratches.
