This manual was printed to provide proper weights and values for each English coin, i.e., piece-weight in grains to pounds, shillings, pence, and farthings, and to allow weighed coins that had been clipped and therefore carried a diminished value to be weighed and valued based on their actual weight, as opposed to their nominal face value.
