Recently completed and fresh to market after a seven year labour of love by its Lancia aficionado owner. The legendary Lancia Stratos HF is the ultimate rally icon of the 'Group 4' era and changed the face of International Rallying as the first purpose-built rally car in an age of modified production cars. Rather than build the 1,000 units needed to qualify for 'Group 3' and only afterwards apply the allowable 'Group 4' modifications, Lancia committed to building the 500 examples required for 'Group 4' homologation as a thinly disguised rally car for the road.Designed by Marcello Gandini, the Stratos HF ('HF' for High Fidelity) was developed as a collaboration between Lancia and Bertone and was introduced in November 1971 at the Turin Motor Show. It was based around a central steel monocoque with steel front frame legs and box-section rear subframe, carrying lightweight glass fibre doors and hinged ‘clamshells’ at the front and rear. The car was powered by a mid-mounted transverse 2.4-litre Ferrari Dino V6 that Enzo Ferrari only reluctantly agreed to supply, fearing the new car would overshadow his own Dino 246.Stratos bodyshells were built by Bertone at its Grugliasco Works, and then shipped to Lancia for final assembly at Via San Paolo. Homologation for 'Group 4' required that 500 examples be built within a 24 month period but, in real terms, this did not require 500 finished cars, but rather enough chassis and components to complete that number. Production began on 1st July 1972 and only 183 examples were completed by the end of 1974, however the FIA determined that enough components and completed body shells existed to confirm 'Group 4' homologation on 1st October 1974. Body production and final assembly would continue through 1975 and although there is some uncertainty, the best estimate is that Lancia eventually completed 492 examples. The Stratos HF made its competition debut in November 1972 on the Tour de Corse running as a prototype and saw its first successes the following year, with wins on the Tour de France and the Firestone Rally, and a second place at the Targa Florio. With its diminutive size, extraordinary agility and powerful V6, the Stratos quickly established itself as a dominant force in rallying, winning the WRC three years in a row (1974–1976) and firmly established itself as a legend by continuing to win in private hands as late as 1981.This 1975 Lancia Stratos, Chassis #AR0001951, built to 'Group 4' specification, is offered fresh to market after a protracted build period with recent completion after what has been a seven year 'labour of love' by the present Lancia aficionado owner. Built around a reconstructed shell, manufactured by Marchesi Modena in 2017/ 2018 utilising genuine and period specific components being of the correct type and age where possible. The standard of finish is exceptional with a level of detail that is rarely achieved. The Marchesi produced shell has also been modified to 'Group 4' specification with an integral T45 roll cage and lowered floors to accommodate the taller pilot, even the front, rear and door clams have been sourced and supplied having being produced using the original Italian tooling. With extensive research being carried out over the years, it is clear to see the lengths to which our vendor went in order to present one of the finest Lancia Stratos to come to market in recent years.Motivation is provided by the fully rebuilt Ferrari 246 V6 power unit constructed around a cast-iron block, with Aluminium 'Group 4' heads sitting atop fully balanced internals and breathing through triple 44 IDF downdraft Weber carburettors. The engine is centrally and transversely mounted, providing drive through the 'Group 4' Lancia 5-speed 'dog box' with a dog-leg first gear through to the Schaublin fully rose-jointed rear end with independent McPherson Struts and 'Group 4' alloy hub carriers, all riding on period correct Magnesium Campagnolo- style wheels shod with the correct Pirelli P7 'Corsa' tyres. Retardation is accomplished through AP vented discs with 4-piston Monoblock aluminium calipers. We appreciate that anyone genuinely interested in this car will have lots of technical questions and we have pages and pages of component specification and build details available upon request. Every part of this build has been considered - the right people asked the right questions and the exact components sourced from wherever they could be found - which is why it took seven years. Our vendor was fastidious, possibly even a little obsessive, when it came to this project and that’s why we are keen that interested parties explore it a bit further to appreciate just how much thought and passion has been invested in this beautiful Stratos.Bringing #AR0001951 back to life has been a metamorphosis and we feel that it would be wonderful to see the car on a European rally stage or on the showground or anywhere really, enjoying the admiration always generated when people get a close look at one of these seldom seen WRC-winning rally cars from 50 years ago.Specification Make: LANCIA Model: STRATOS Year: 1975 Chassis Number: 829AR0001951 Registration Number: PAO 789P Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 0008764 Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Make: LHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images

One of 100 made worldwide and one of only 28 UK-delivered, right-hand drive examples. Unveiled by Aston Martin in 2015 as 'the most potent and uncompromising Vantage to date' the Vantage GT12 was significantly re-engineered from a standard V12 S. 100kg was shed through the extensive use of carbon fibre body panels, bonnet, bumpers and front wings. With production limited to just 100 examples worldwide, of which 28 were UK right-hand drive, the new model incorporated much of what had been learned from their successful GT racing programme.Power from the 6-litre V12 was increased from 550 to 592bhp and the chassis updated including a wider track and large carbon-ceramic brake discs. The 7-speed sport-shift transmission was also updated for faster gear changes, while downforce to the rear wing, front splitter, rear diffuser and side skirts was increased by a factor of seven.Finished in China Grey with a Grey Blend Alcantara/Californian Poppy interior, this is one of only 28 UK-supplied, right-hand drive examples and had covered 10,579 miles at the time of cataloguing. The GT12 has formed part of our vendor's private Collection since 2019 and boasts a full Aston Martin service history with the most recent, a six year service, on 9th July 2024.The car was specified new with the following options: Alarm System: Alarm Upgrade Volumetric & Tilt Sensors Audio System: Aston Martin 700W Premium AudioBadge Bonnet/Decklid: Bright Chrome (Black Wings Infill)Brake Calipers: OrangeCentre Console: Satin CarbonFacia Trim (Trim Inlay): Facia Trim - Full Length Twill Carbon Front Badge: GT12 Bonnet LouvreFront Grille: CarbonGearbox Type: 7-Speed Sportshift IIIGraphics Pack: FullHandbook Language: EnglishHeadlamps: Black BezelIP Language: EnglishKeyfob Cover: Leather Ecu PouchPaddle shifts: Black Paddleshift - Match To Seat -StripeParcel Shelf: Fit Parcel ShelfParking Cameras: Reversing CameraQ Graphics Pack: Orange Q Graphics PackRear Quarter/Window: PolycarbonateRoof Panel: Carbon FibreSeat Belts: Warm CharcoalSeat Embroidery: Headrest Embroidery - Gt12 LogoSeat Type: Lightweight Manual SeatSeating Arrangement: 2 SeaterSpecial Feature: QBy Aston MartinSteering Wheel Type: Standard Steering WheelTail Lamps: Clear Rear LampsTailgate Finish: CarbonWheels: 7Sp Satin Black Magnesium Centre LockWindow Surround Finisher: Black Side Window FinisherWith limited production numbers, inspiration from the racing team, impressive performance and a soundtrack hard to match, this is a highly sought-after and collectable model and one that we highly recommend coming to see at the NEC.Our vendor has generously agreed to include the Cherished Registration number, GT12 VAN, as part of the sale.Specification Make: ASTON MARTIN Model: GT12 VANTAGE Year: 2015 Chassis Number: SCFGJBJY0GGS62373 Registration Number: GT12 VAN Transmission: Semi-Automatic Engine Number: AM57/43013 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 10579 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
Very well cared for Z4M Roadster in a striking colour combination with less than 15,000 miles from new. The BMW Z4 was introduced in 2002 and was styled by BMW's Danish designer Anders Warming. The car had its own distinctive appeal that helped it take on the Porsche Boxster directly, where the earlier Z3 had always trailed in the Porsche's wake. Thanks to a spread of engines and dose of practicality, the Z4 also managed to challenge the Mercedes SLK and Audi TT to be a very competent all-round Roadster. They were all fully built at BMW USA's South Carolina plant with the exception of the Z4M, launched in 2006, which was assembled in Carolina using engines and transmissions from BMW's 'M' Division in Germany. The essence of any 'M' car is always the powertrain really and the heart of the Z4M is the special grey cast iron block 3.2-litre straight-six (iron was used iron for extra rigidity at high rpm). Designated S54, it's the last in the M50 line of engines and benefited from all the latest technology, including individual 'fly by wire' throttle bodies and dual variable cam timing (VANOS in BMW-speak) which all helped it to pump out 338bhp at 7,900rpm and 269lb/ft of torque at 4,900rpm, with an 8,000rpm red line. All these 'Pferde' are directed towards the back wheels through a Getrag 'Type H' 6-speed. Engine management, however, is specific to the Z4M: the Siemens MSS70 with higher processing power (64 million calculations per second) than the MSS54 (25 million CPS) in the M3. Other performance parts borrowed from the M3 include the CSL's compound (aluminium hubs, stainless steel pins, cross drilled iron floating rotors) brakes and most of the M3's suspension components. Other changes include a hydraulic steering setup which provides better feel than the electric system in standard Z4 models. This fabulous 2009 Roadster was originally supplied by BMW (UK) Thorn in Yorkshire, finished in Black Sapphire Metallic with a striking Imola Red Nappa leather interior. It was later purchased in 2011 from Hereford BMW for £25,811 as an investment, however our vendor has sadly passed away with the car subsequently being offered to a family member who has no real interest in it, consequently this desirable Z4M is now available on the open market. It's accompanied by its original book pack containing the relevant service/ handbooks/ manuals etc. and the current MOT (no advisories) is valid until June 2025. There is one stamp in the book by Cotswold Hereford BMW (Sept 2017) at 11,416 miles and an invoice dated May 2022 for £701.61 for general works. The indicated mileage was 14,921 at the time of cataloguing and the car will be detailed professionally to a showroom standard ready prior to our sale and will benefit from a fresh oil service. This very low-mileage Z4M is certainly of collector quality and represents an excellent opportunity to own one of these underrated Z cars for a sensible outlay. **The vendor has offered to organise collection from the NEC and organise an MOT for the buyer at his expense post sale.** A UK-delivered example, comprehensively restored to a high standard and excitingly offered without Reserve. On offer here is a rare and desirable, UK-supplied, right-hand drive, three-door Land Cruiser VX Turbo that was first registered on 1st August 1992. Finished in Red Mica (code Toyota 3H4), this example has been subject to a comprehensive restoration to a very high standard that was recently finished in August 2024. The car enjoyed a full glass-out, trim-out respray along with the running gear being powder-coated and one glance at the engine bay will illustrate the quality of the work. It's powered by a four-cylinder 2.4-litre turbo diesel engine (2-LT) mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with high and low ratio four-wheel drive. The mileage at the time of cataloguing was 143,085 and the car is accompanied by its dealer book pack including the stamped service book along with old tax discs, V5 and MOTs.Excitingly offered without Reserve, this particular example really does need to be seen in the metal given the amount of recent investment and we welcome your inspection at the NEC.NB; This vehicle will be issued with a fresh MOT prior to the sale.SpecificationMake: TOYOTAModel: LAND CRUISERYear: 1992Chassis Number: JT1V0LJ7009058848Registration Number: K255 LTRTransmission: ManualEngine Number: 2L3035995 Drive Side: Right-hand DriveClick here for more details and images
One of only nine 2-litre Homologation Dinos believed to survive, this smart, fresh to market Coupé represents a rare opportunity. In the mid-1960s, Ferrari needed a 2-litre production-based engine for their new Formula 2 and conceived the mid-engined Dino 206 to provide the necessary basis. Since the late 1950s, Ferrari's V6-engined sports-racers had used the Dino name, after Enzo Ferrari's late son, Alfredino, who had died in 1956 and this was duly applied to the new road car. Indeed, at this time it was intended that it would be the first of an entirely separate marque. The new V6 power unit would prove as successful on the racetrack as in the showroom: Derek Bell and Ernesto Brambilla both winning races in the European Championship, while Andrea de Adamich triumphed in the 1968 Argentine Temporada series. However, faced with the daunting task of building 500 units per annum to meet the FIA's homologation requirements, Ferrari turned to FIAT for assistance, the resulting agreement for the latter to build the Dino's four-cam V6 engine leading to a spin-off model for FIAT. Launched in Pininfarina-bodied two-seater Spider form at the 1966 Turin Show, the FIAT Dino carried its 2-litre, 160bhp engine ahead of the driver in a conventional manner and was notable as the first FIAT to employ four overhead camshafts and a limited-slip differential as standard. Steel bodied, the newcomer employed a FIAT 5-speed gearbox and featured independent front suspension by means of wishbones and coil springs, a live rear axle, and disc brakes all round. A longer-wheelbase 2+2 Coupé model with Giorgetto Giugiaro-penned Bertone coachwork appeared the following year at the Geneva Salon and was much-acclaimed for its good looks and clever design.Finished in Rosso Corsa with a black interior, this Dino is fresh to market having been loved and cherished by the same family owners since 1976, some 48 years, a rare occurrence indeed. As an early 2-litre Coupé, this particular Grand Tourer is one of the original homologation examples and is one of only nine believed to survive today, suggesting that this could be the 'holy grail' of FIAT Dino ownership and would be extremely difficult to replicate should this opportunity be missed or passed by. Having been painted some years ago to an extremely high standard and with little use since, the overall condition remains outstanding throughout and comes highly recommended. We therefore welcome and encourage your early inspection to satisfy yourself as to the overall quality and opportunity that this rare, fresh to market FIAT provides.Specification Make: FIAT Model: DINO 2.0 Year: 1967 Chassis Number: 000210 Registration Number: AUB 852E Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 000210 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 85652 KM Make: RHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images
An excellent example of Toyota’s flagship 1990s sports car. An incredible top-specification Supra packed with JDM goodies. The eagerly anticipated fourth generation (A80) Supra was unveiled at the 1993 Chicago Motor Show after four years in development under the guidance of Chief Engineer, Isao Tsuzuki. The A80 was a major step forward compared to the period-correct boxy shaped Supras, the A80s proportions and flowing design leaned more to the 2000GT of the 1960s than its predecessors with a long, low bonnet line and high-rise optional rear spoiler. All road-going A80 Supras were fitted with some variation of Toyotas bulletproof and highly modifiable 3-litre straight-six 2JZ engine, offering 220bhp in naturally aspirated form all the way up to 326bhp from the sequential twin-turbo variant. While the Supra had supercar looks, the refinement of a Mercedes-Benz and a sub-five second 0-60mph time rivalling the Ferrari 512 TR, initial sales were slow, selling approximately 45,000 examples worldwide. Ironically, only once production of the Supra ceased in 2002 did its popularity truly soar to new heights, gaining an almost cult following. From the offset, the 2JZ engine was highly tuneable and could push huge power with minimal modifications, with the capability of handling 1,000bhp plus with the supporting modifications. Arguably, its cult status was guaranteed with its hero car feature in The Fast and The Furious, driven by Paul Walker and the adoption by Japanese tuning legends such as Smokey Nagata (Top Secret), HKS, Blitz, Veilside and TRD.The car on offer is a remarkable example for a plethora of reasons. The closer you look, the more boxes it seems to tick. Produced in 2001, it is a very late, factory twin-turbo, manual coupé modified with excellent taste with an assortment of JDM 'unobtanium' goodies. Finished in the desirable and rarely seen Quicksilver FX (1B9), combined with the factory confetti Black Recaro seats, not to mention all your usual creature comforts such as climate control air conditioning, central locking and retractable power mirrors. In addition to the top-specification from the factory, the car has been further enhanced with a plethora of rare parts such as a Top Secret front bumper, TRD rear wing, TRD strut brace, TRD instrument cluster, TRD box skirts, TOMS Tec II ECU as well as a Nardi steering wheel, Defi gauges, larger Koyorad radiator, oil cooler, front mounted intercooler, and Bola wheels.Having covered 140,000km from new (87,000 miles), the exterior presents very well, the paintwork gleaming nicely, with the interior presenting well, fabulously period correct and coming to market following a detail, service and fresh MOT.To find a Supra built in such good order is no easy feat, with so many succumbing to rust, crashes and poor modifications, let alone finding one with such a gold mine of phenomenal JDM parts, this really is a fabulous example. To replicate this car and the associated parts would be an eye-watering sum, yet thankfully the careful custodians of this car have taken care of that already. A rightful JDM hero, offered at a reasonable level, come and meet your hero and see what the fuss is about.Specification Make: TOYOTA Model: SUPRA TWIN TURBO Year: 2001 Chassis Number: JZA801005305 Registration Number: Y728 UKE Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 2JZ Odometer Reading: 141000 Miles Make: Interior Colour: Black Cloth, Fleck InsertClick here for more details and images
#50 of 60 special 60th Anniversary Plus Four Super Sports models, uniquely presented in Gulf Motorsport colours. The Morgan Plus 4 was the company’s most popular model since its launch in 1950 and represented the sweet spot within Morgan’s diverse and celebrated range of models, possessing more power and performance than the contemporary 4/4, whilst retaining a level of fuel economy that made it ideal for long-distance touring. A versatile and well-balanced sports car, the Plus four became a Morgan institution, before being superseded by the all-new Plus Four in 2020.Chris Lawrence and Richard Shepherd-Barron’s admirable win in the 2-litre GT Class at the1962 24 Hours of Le Mans driving a Plus Four was the inspiration for Morgan’s creative marketing department to suggest a limited edition 60th Anniversary model based on their then current third generation, 2-litre Duratec-powered Plus Four. Only 62 examples (1962) would be built each, carrying a numbered metal plaque displaying the unique build number and would feature a number of design/styling cues from the Le Mans winner. On offer here we have car #50 which has been owned and enjoyed by our vendor since 2017 and has covered just over 19,400 miles from new. It’s finished in Iris Blue (one of the six ‘launch’ colours available) which is very similar to Gulf Blue (328), an early 1970s Porsche colour adopted by Gulf Oil Motorsport, with Gulf Orange (019), as their signature colours. The Morgan’s first owner chose to enhance the Iris Blue bodywork with orange detailing and Gulf decals and we believe that this is the only 60th Anniversary car so finished.#50 is powered by a 2-litre, 16v, variable cam, four-cylinder running Jenvey throttle bodies and offering 200bhp. Motorsport underpinnings comprise an LSD, Panhard rod, uprated exhaust system, shock absorbers, anti-tramp bar, brake reaction bars, an aluminium front under tray, and black Minilite centre-lock wheels with 3-eared spinnersOther features include black leather heated (on a Morgan!) bucket seats with embossed headrests, engraved Banjo steering wheel, Tawny-wood dashboard, net door pockets and glovebox, stop-watch timing clocks, a heated screen, Pioneer stereo with USB input, an 'Anniversary Plus Four Super Sports' numbered badge, bonnet scoop with full louvres and bonnet pins, flat back panel with louvres and a Le Mans filler cap. Inclement weather is kept at bay by a 9-stud screen and hood and a Tonneau cover.Above its normal servicing, the Morgan had a full nut and bolt and electrical check-over in August 2019 by marque specialist, Richard Thorne and again in 2023 when a new clutch master cylinder was fitted. More recently it’s also had plugs, a new ECU and the throttle bodies balanced.Surely one of the most evocative Morgans of recent years with sound motorsport provenance and ready to be enjoyed.Specification Make: MORGAN Model: PLUS FOUR Year: 2012 Chassis Number: SA94420K2B5004773 Registration Number: CN12 FKE Transmission: Manual Engine Number: E3962029JP Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 19409 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Black leatherClick here for more details and images
On offer from a private Collection with less than ten miles from new. The Renault Clio V (fifth generation) was officially introduced in January 2019, ahead of its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019, offered in a variety of trims including Play, Iconic, S-Edition or the top-spec RS Line, which we have here. The RS Line is essentially a sport-inspired trim that gives the standard Clio a more dynamic, performance-oriented look and feel, without being a full Renault Sport (RS) performance model. It is largely about styling with enhancements of both the interior and exterior, offering a more aggressive design but with standard engine options like the TCe (Turbo Control Efficiency).Externally some key features of the RS Line include a sportier front bumper with a more aggressive air intake design and honeycomb grille, resembling the high-performance RS models, RS Line badging on the front wings and tailgate, 17” alloy wheels, chrome tailpipe, an F1-inspired front blade (a signature design feature of Renault’s RS cars) in the front bumper and a Sporty rear diffuser. Interior-wise the RS Line features Sports seats, aluminium pedals, red stitching and carbon fibre style interior trim. From a tech perspective the RS Line features a large touchscreen with Renault’s Easy Link infotainment system, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, SatNav and driver assistance systems like lane-keeping assist, autonomous emergency braking and parking sensors. From a performance perspective, while the RS Line certainly looks sporty, it is equipped with the regular TCe engines, like the 1-litre 90, 1-litre 100 or the 1.3-litre 130, offering it a humble prioritising of efficiency and daily usability, over extreme performance, this example being the 1-litre.In essence, the Clio RS Line is designed for those who want a sportier look and feel without the full performance of a dedicated Renault Sport vehicle. On offer from a Deceased Estate, this 2012 Renault Clio RS Line TCE was first registered as AV21 WLA in May 2021. Our late vendor purchased it new and was the only owner. Eight delivery miles only. The V5C has been sent to DVLA by the executor and a new one will need to be applied for in the new owner’s name.Supplied with its original sales invoice, sundry paperwork and all the usual dealer book pack, manuals, user guides and service books etc. With sporty looks in top of the range trim, finished in desirable colours and packed full of modern tech and safety features, this lovely little Clio is surely the perfect city runabout or first car?Specification Make: RENAULT Model: CLIO RS LINE TCE Year: 2012 Chassis Number: VF1RJA00267434459 Registration Number: AV21 WLA Transmission: Manual Engine Number: U095043 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 8 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
A highly-developed, 350bhp, British-built sports car offering 0-60 in three seconds, this highly-specified example has covered just 99 miles and in 'as new' condition. In 2012 a pair of car industry professionals, Ansar Ali and Mark Edwards – who had both worked at Lotus and Caterham - decided the time was right to produce a new type of lightweight high-performance sports car, one that combined maximum driving thrills with maximum accessibility - Zenos Cars was born. Less than two years later, Zenos showed its first car, the E10, clearly demonstrating their single-minded determination to use innovation to benefit the experience it delivers to its owners. Production began a few months afterwards, shortly followed by their second model, the E10 S, providing the same engaging experience with even more performance. In November 2015 Zenos announced the pinnacle of the E10 range, the E10 R, offering further development, performance and configuration options. While the E10 S uses a 2-litre EcoBoost engine, the E10 R is fitted with the bigger 2.3-litre unit, similar to that in the Ford Focus RS. In the Zenos it’s good for 350bhp and 350lb/ft of torque. According to company founder, Mark Edwards, he and his team achieved the power figures they had targeted on the first day on the dyno without having to stress the engine too hard. 'We could have had even more power, but we don’t want owners to have to rebuild their engines every year' he says. 'Ford has tested these engines to the moon and back and they’ve got bags of power'.The gearbox is still a 6-speed manual transverse unit gearbox for the E10 R, but the shift action has been shortened for a more precise and direct throw and the gear knob itself is now a bespoke Zenos item. Zenos estimates 0-62mph in three seconds and 155mph flat out. Weighing just 700kg (dry) the E10 R has a power to weight ratio of 508bhp/tonne, which puts it firmly in the performance car big leagues.Standard features of the E10 R include a hybrid carbon-composite cockpit/aluminium spine with steel rollover and side-impact protection system, double wishbone front and rear suspension with Bilstein dampers (in-board front) for incredible handling, O.Z. lightweight racing wheels with Avon ZZR tyres. This particular example features full carbon seats with harnesses, plus the full-sized windscreen. A fully specified E10 R was a £50,000 sportscar when new.The car presented here is a 2016 Zenos E10 R which is UK-registered having covered just 99 delivery miles; indeed, the seats are still plastic-covered and the car has barely been touched.Despite delivering just over 100 cars to customers and what was pretty much universal praise, Zenos hit a financial trouble in early 2017 and fell into administration. The original team behind Zenos moved onto other things. Notably, Ansar Ali went on to be in charge of McLaren's SVO and Matt Windle, who joined Zenos slightly later as Operations Director, has gone even further to become Lotus' CEO.However, do not worry, as there is a very active Zenos-movement out there, with 24-7 Motorsport of Norfolk still providing servicing, upgrades, advice, parts etc. for customers' cars. Give them a call if you are even half-interested in this car.Estimated at £25,000 - £30,000 this 'new' car is substantially cheaper than it would have been if sold when Zenos still existed – so why not be the lead car at every track day you attend and enjoy owning a rare and very well developed British sportscar?Specification Make: ZENOS Model: E10 2.3 R ROADSTER Year: 2016 Chassis Number: SA9FRFRR6GW341096 Registration Number: HX66 HLV Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 99 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
On offer from long term ownership, this time warp Legacy RS Turbo is remarkably well preserved having covered less than 22,500 miles from new. In the early 1990s, Subaru’s rally exploits turned the brand’s image on its head. From being staid, unimaginative all-wheel drive oddities that only a farmer might want, the cars campaigned by the likes of Ari Vatanen, Markku Alén, Colin McRae and Richard Burns became the darlings of the 1990s go-faster brigade, as the Legacy and Impreza conquered rally stages across the globe and won World Championships. The first of these to appear was based on the successful Legacy four-door saloon and arrived in 1988 as the Legacy RS, with production starting in 1989. Designed to be homologated for 'Group A' competition, it featured a 220bhp, 2-litre, four-cam, 16v, EJ20 turbocharged flat-four mated to a 5-speed gearbox and all-wheel drive offering a top speed of 155mph.First registered in 1989, this early generation RS Legacy was imported from Japan and has been with its current owner since 2014, kept in heated storage with (importantly) no external lighting, where this time-warp remains today having covered less than 1,200 miles since then. Sitting on a set of gold 15" 6-spoke alloy wheels, it's finished in Ceramic White (057) over a grey cloth and cord-trimmed interior, featuring light grey 'tricot' cloth inserts on the seats with matching door cards. The factory specification includes a heated rear windscreen, 3-spoke leather-trimmed Momo steering wheel, automatic air conditioning, a CD and cassette stereo, electrically adjustable folding door mirrors and electric windows. The Cherished Registration Number, G14 PWL, was purchased to go with the car as a respectful nod to Collin McRae's 'Group A'-winning Subaru Legacy, J314 PWL.This Subaru Legacy RS Turbo is a very well presented time warp of the modern classic Japanese performance saloon, offered in impressive, original condition, and with low mileage. Presented in a timeless factory colour scheme, with a potent turbocharged flat-four, an engaging 5-speed manual gearbox and permanent four-wheel drive, it would make an excellent addition to any collection of Japanese performance cars and an exciting yet practical retro daily driver or weekend toy.Specification Make: SUBARU Model: LEGACY RS Year: 1989 Chassis Number: BC5015363 Registration Number: G14 PWL Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 100945 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 36000 KM Make: RHD Interior Colour: Grey clothClick here for more details and images
John Cooper Works GP2 in Thunder Grey Metallic. A serious Mini at a sensible guide. When the Mini John Cooper Works GP was officially announced back in late 2012, even hardened Mini enthusiasts had to take a second look at the numbers. 1,598cc, turbocharged, 215bhp @ 6,000rpm, 206ft/lb of torque, 0-60mph in 6.1 seconds and 150mph!Even a standard Cooper S is a fast and feisty little car, but the GP2 promised something all together more serious. Apart from the inevitable graphics and the aero kit (which reduced drag by 6%), it benefitted from a radical programme of upgrades including new adjustable ride-height coil-over suspension (with inverted dampers at the front) providing increased camber and reduced front toe-in for greater agility, an all-new braking system featuring six-piston calipers and 330mm front discs, GP-specific and super-sticky track day tyres and reconfigured stability control functions including a more aggressive Electronic Differential Lock Control. There were no rear seats, but who cares? The new Works GP had all the makings of a new 'hero' and so it was to prove. The 12th from last produced, fresh to market from long term ownership, an older restoration that is ready to be enjoyed as intended once again. Making its debut in 1957, the Type 14 Elite was the first production sports car that Colin Chapman designed for Lotus Cars. Lotus' design philosophy ran contrary to the prevailing norm, making their cars lighter, more aerodynamic and therefore more nimble, rather than increasing horsepower and weight, enabling Lotus cars to out-handle much more powerful vehicles on track. It was very light, weighing just 630kg and utilised a 'monocoque' construction which meant there was no separate chassis with the body being load-bearing and whilst this was becoming accepted practice, the Elite was the first time it had been attempted in fibreglass. There were only two strips of steel in the car — a strip for the door hinges to attach to and a very small steel frame to which the engine and suspension were attached and when combined with independent sports suspension, a ZF gearbox, disc brakes, the Coventry Climax all-aluminium engine and a very low drag coefficient of just 0.29, it made for a great drivers' car. The first 280 were built by Maximar prior to production transferring to Bristol Aircraft who built a further 750, however the Elite was very expensive to produce, especially the GRP monocoque which was extremely labour-intensive, and it's understood that they lost around £100 on every car with its successor, the Elan, returning to more conventional construction. This particular Elite S2, offered from long term ownership, has been with its present custodian for some considerable time prior to which it had been partially rebuilt due to having being rolled by an exuberant driver testing the Lotus phrase that the Elite was a ‘road-going racer’. A new body was ordered directly from Lotus in 1967/68 and rebuilt with all new glass, frames and bumpers and other associated parts as required. Finished in Lagoon Blue with a Silver Cap and black upholstery, the Elite has formed part of a private Collection since being acquired, with minimal use over the years however it has been maintained as required with invoices on file detailing such items as the ZF 4-speed close-ratio gearbox being rebuilt some years ago by DWR Engineering of Derby, marque specialists who it should be noted also rebuilt the engine with balanced internals. Other items noted within the history file list are a rebuilt differential, balanced diaphragm clutch and a replacement servo.By the time Elite production ceased in September 1963, 1,030 examples had been built and Lotus had developed from a company unheard of outside of UK club racing to one of the most famous racing teams in the world. They were about to be crowned F1 World Champions for the first time with Jim Clark and were seen as established world players in road car manufacture with a mature market presence in the US and elsewhere. The Elite played a big part in this remarkable feat of automotive industrial growth. It was Lotus' first 'grown-up', credible road car and laid down the foundations of the Lotus business that still exists today. With minimal use of late, minor recommissioning may be required but the potential is there for all to see and with that in mind we welcome and encourage your early inspection of this Bristol-built Series 2.Specification Make: LOTUS Model: ELITE Year: 1963 Chassis Number: FR1988 / EB2018 Registration Number: 323 CDA Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 10833 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 47258 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images
Ex-Ford press/promotion vehicle, previously owned by the Benetton F1 Team, with just a handful of enthusiast-owners, 47,000 miles and a huge history file. The original Ford Sierra RS Cosworth was the first Ford to wear the Cosworth badge and was presented to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1985. It was introduced as a means of homologating the Sierra for 'Group A' Touring Car racing, with a requirement that 5,000 cars were built and sold. Launched for sale in July 1986 and based on the three-door Sierra bodyshell, it was designed by Ford's Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) and was powered by a Cosworth-designed 2-litre turbo engine of now-legendary repute. At this time, the Sierra Cosworth was a new kind of performance car - a 'blue-collar hero' able to humble true sports cars. In total, 5,545 cars were produced - of which 500 were sent to Aston Martin Tickford for conversion to the Sierra RS500 Cosworth. If the RS Cosworth was a homologation car, the RS500 was an evolution special. Once Ford had built the requisite 5,000 RS Cosworths, 'Group A' rules allowed an upgraded evolution model to be launched. This could carry changes focused on improving its racing potential, provided Ford sold 10% of the original number as road cars, hence the 500. The RS500 was announced in July 1987 and had a mechanically uprated Cosworth engine (more similar to the one to be used in competition), with power boosted to 224bhp, upgraded brakes, modified bodywork and the cachet of being hand-assembled - the RS500 really is the ultimate 1980's Fast Ford! Indeed, during the model's 30th anniversary year in 2017, the RS500 was named the 'Ultimate Cosworth' by one of the UK's biggest one-make car shows. The car presented here is 1987 Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth (AMT #012 of 500/chassis #GG38602) in black, being just the second RS500 despatched from Tickford on 22nd June 1987. Registered D62 XVX, it was to be one of three examples to be used for ‘Press Appraisal’ i.e. a Ford press and publicity car. Iconic Auctioneers were honoured to sell another such example in 2023, registered D64 XVX, which achieved £140,000.#012 was paraded not only at the launch of the RS500 in the UK but all over Europe, as documented in numerous magazines articles and paperwork. Unsurprisingly, due to its significance, #012 was previously owned by Martin Thomas, the former RSOC RS500 Registrar. Martin and his wife Julie are real Ford aficionados and amassed a huge amount of history, provenance and press material surrounding #012 – all of which accompanies the car, in numerous files and dossier-type folders. Fascinatingly, they managed to find a period press image of Peter Collins, the manager of Team Benneton (whose F1 cars were powered by Ford), standing with the car promoting Cellnet car phones; supposedly, at this time, Benetton were responsible for #012, servicing and maintaining it (and rumour-has-it, ‘breathing on it...’) to their high standards. After #012 had completed its press duties, it was offered for sale at a Ford Motor Company auction, when it was purchased by the first of its Ford-enthusiast owners, subsequently being bought, loved and showed at numerous RS events by Martin and Julie Thomas, winning multiple Concours events and featuring in magazines over their years of dutiful ownership. In 2006, #012 was even invited to London to share in the convoy of significant and best of breed vehicles, amassed to help celebrate the 80th birthday of HM The Queen. The car is as good and as significant as you’d want from any RS500, coming to auction from another Ford devotee who has maintained the originality, condition and mechanical health of #012 since he bought it some years ago.Without doubt, a special example of the legendary RS500 which is highly regarded within the Ford community. This is a real opportunity to become a member of very exclusive club of RS500 owners at an attractive guide price.Specification Make: FORD Model: SIERRA RS500 COSWORTH Year: 1987 Chassis Number: WF0EXXGBBEGG38602 Registration Number: D62 XVX Transmission: Manual Engine Number: GG38602 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 47000 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
On offer from a private Collection with just nine miles from new. The tenth generation Civic, known as the FK, was officially launched on 30th 2015 at the Paris Motor Show in a variety of trims, offering the usual improvements to driveability, styling, safety and technology. The EX Sportline filled the spot of providing a sportier driving experience and aesthetic within the Civic range without being a full performance model, like the bonkers FK8 Type-R, targeting buyers seeking a balance between everyday usability and a more aggressive look with sporty styling elements, improved handling, and Honda’s renowned VTEC efficiency.Externally, key features of the EX Sportline include a more aggressive front bumper, a subtle rear spoiler and a rear diffuser for a more dynamic look. Additionally, it is fitted with 18" black alloy wheels, along with LED headlights and C-shaped LED taillights. Sportline badging further distinguishes this model, complemented by black exterior details. The interior features sport seats with extra bolstering, aluminium pedals, and red stitching on the seats, steering wheel, and gearstick. From a tech standpoint, the Civic EX Sport Line comes equipped with a 7" Honda CONNECT touchscreen system, supporting Apple CarPlay/Android Auto with SatNav as standard. Additionally, the trim benefits from advanced driver assistance systems such as lane assist, adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking for added safety. From a performance perspective, while the EX Sportline certainly looks the part, it features the regular 1-litre VTEC Turbocharged engine, delivering around 126bhp, prioritizing fuel efficiency and daily usability over extreme performance. The driving experience is further enhanced by a more driver focussed suspension setup, which supports improved handling and agility without compromising comfort. In essence, the Civic EX Sport Line is designed for those who want the aggressive looks and sporty feel of a performance car, without sacrificing the practicality and efficiency of a daily driver. On offer from a Deceased Estate, this 2020 Honda Civic EX Sportline VTEC was first registered as AY70 0KC on 25th September 2020. Following a six year, £100,000-plus restoration involving the best names in TVR racing, this is arguably the best Tuscan in the world. The Tuscan was introduced in 1967, produced at TVR’s factory in Blackpool, England essentially as the genesis of the Griffith, a popular car that was plagued with a reputation for poor reliability. The ethos of TVR was to create small-scale, hand-built sports cars with the emphasis on performance and simplicity. The Tuscan came in two guises, the V6 and the V8, both being aimed at different markets, with the V6 model targeting more practical use, whilst the V8 was focused on high performance, especially for motorsports and enthusiasts. In TVR terms, the car was relatively popular, building 173 examples in total, but in grander terms the cars are extremely rare. The Tuscan V6 was powered by a 3-litre Ford Essex V6 offering between 138bhp-150bhp and when combined with a weight of around 900kg, it was a sporty little car, but the V8 is where the numbers become really impressive. The Tuscan V8s were predominantly fitted with Ford 302ci Windsor V8s, although some received Chevrolet small block V8s, pushing out between 270-350bhp depending on engine specification, offering 0-60mph in five seconds and a top speed in excess of 150mph, it really was a lightweight rocket ship and still is today! Just like the V6, the Tuscan used a fibreglass body on a steel frame, with the V8 version being slightly heavier due to the larger engine. Typically, the V8s were mated to a 4-speed manual transmission, but some were equipped with different gearboxes depending on customer preferences. From a racing perspective the Tuscan V8 was a popular choice in the late 1960s and early 1970s, especially in privateer hands. Its combination of brute power and light weight made it competitive in most racing series. The TVR Tuscan was known for its raw, visceral driving experience, with no driver aids like power steering or traction control. The light body, powerful engine and rear-wheel drive made the car extremely agile but also quite challenging to handle, with minimalistic interiors and almost no focus on luxury or safety. The interiors were functional, with basic controls and gauges, the emphasis was entirely on performance.UPY 777J is arguably the best condition Tuscan in the world. Our vendor is a TVR fanatic, having owned 27 of them over the years and planned to enjoy this particular car in his retirement by competing in the occasional hillclimb or sprint. UPY 777J is a well known car within the TVR and hillclimb circles having competed very successfully for decades, with lots of class wins and hill records to its name. It came out of the factory as a V6 but was changed to the Ford V8 early on in its life.It was bought as a complete running and driving car, with the idea being to tidy it up before competing in it, so the car was given to a company in Scotland who started the teardown and rebuild process. After having the car for three years, our vendor simply wasn’t impressed by the quality of the work being done so pulled the plug and gave it to respected TVR gurus, Nigel and Duncan Reuben, to start again. Due to our vendor changing locations internationally and the influence of COVID, it took six years going through and doing everything imaginable to the car to make it perfect, including a brand new body. A new period Ford 289 4.7-litre V8 was sourced, built in the US and shipped over costing c.£20,000. Internally the engine has forged diamond pistons, Eagle conrods, performance cams and an Edlebrock carb. The gearbox is a 5-speed from a TVR Tuscan Challenge car and the differential has been fully overhauled with new internals. Period FIA brakes, discs front and rear are fitted as are the correct Koni adjustable shocks originally from Mike Whittaker’s BFR 400B, costing £1,200 each and there’s six of them. All required parts were from Nigel Reuben Racing and car was built by Duncan Reuben (TVR Classics). An FIA foam fire extinguisher and all the other mandatory safety equipment has been fitted. The end result is incredible, costing well in excess of £100,000 to complete and the quality is evident making this car surely one of, if not the, best presenting and competitive Tuscans in the world. Our vendor, having looked at his shiny new racer and the associated build cost, has decided that the car is essentially ‘too nice’ to use, particularly as his passion for going flat-out up narrow hills has diminished in favour of European tours. Having had shakedown testing and a handful of road miles, the car has stayed in the heated garage and never turned a wheel in anger. There are around 1,000 photos documenting the restoration, detailing everything. The specification is phenomenal, with the very best TVR names on it. From a racing perspective, it’s never had FIA papers but, in terms of eligibility, it can do CSCC Swinging Sixties, HSCC Historic Roadsports, 1970s Road Sports and a plethora of others and achieving FIA papers shouldn’t be difficult if a higher tier of motorsport is the aim.Any Tuscan is a great looking car but this striking example, finished in Old English White, really does stand out from the crowd for all the right reasons. Expected to be fiercely competitive and a definite handful to drive, it's time for the car to find its next custodian to enjoy and continue its legacy.Specification Make: TVR Model: TUSCAN LWB V8 Year: 1970 Chassis Number: LVX17478 Registration Number: UPY 777J Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Make: RHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images
A fabulous Mk1 1600L. Probably the best example of its type in the country and just one former keeper. Ford had started production of the Capri at Halewood in Liverpool, England in November 1968 in order to ensure that every Ford dealer had at least one Capri on their forecourt on 5th February 1969 and heavily marketed as 'the car you always promised yourself'. Over the next 18 years, nearly 2,000,000 people in Europe and America did fulfil that promise. 11 years after the Capri was launched, it was still in the top ten selling cars in Britain, something that would be impossible today.Over the decades, there can't be many people who have not owned or driven one of the many models of Capri at some point so, whatever your view is of the Capri, it remains a part of our motoring history that carved a place for Ford in a sector of the market it had never been in before and set the trend for others to follow.Ford were absolute masters at upselling their range by adding clever touches which really enhanced the cars and were badged accordingly, allowing your neighbour to closely observe your career path. Specifications and consequently desirability varied directly, with those little chrome letters moving through 'L' to 'XL', 'GXL', 'E', 'GT' and some time later, 'Ghia'. Despite having been built in serious quantities, the ravages of time and multiple owners have significantly reduced the number of survivors and although many of the more powerful and rare examples have been rescued and restored, it's very, very rare to find a basic 1300 or 1600 model like the 1600L on offer here in such fabulous condition. On offer is a simply incredible Capri, probably the best example of it’s type available in the country today. First registered on 9th October 1972, this UK-supplied, right-hand drive 1600L is showing just one former registered keeper from new. Powered by the 71bhp, 1,593cc, four-cylinder Kent engine, it's finished in Lime Glaze and trimmed to 'L-spec' with an odometer reading of 59,233 miles at the time of cataloguing. This show-winning example has been enjoyed the same owner for 43 years of its life and has been subject to a full nut and bolt restoration. The results are simply stunning. We could go on but really a car like this needs to be seen in the metal in order to be fully appreciated so we encourage all interested parties to come to the NEC to see this remarkable Capri for themselves.NB; This vehicle will be issued with a fresh MOT prior to the sale.Specification Make: FORD Model: CAPRI 1600 L Year: 1972 Chassis Number: BBECMR41021 Registration Number: NPF 306L Transmission: Manual Engine Number: MR41021 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
A superbly presented, low-mileage example of the last of the line collectible Minis; one for the true enthusiast and avid fan. The best available? Most probably. By 1986, Austin Rover was reformed as the slimmer, more premium-orientated Rover Group and it was odds-on that the Mini would be dropped from the line-up thanks to healthy sales of the Metro. However, it wasn’t and the Mini was marketed as a stand-alone brand, being kept alive with a number of special editions and clever advertising slogans, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 1989.The Mini was lightly revised in 1992 so that the 1,275cc engine could be fitted on the production line, creating the Mk 6 Series – generally regarded as the first of the ‘Rover Minis’, with the Cooper becoming a regular production model. It was well-received and gave the Mini a stay of execution, with the 998cc A-Series engine being gradually phased out in favour of the Cooper’s 1,275cc fuel-injected unit throughout the range. When the final Mk 7 version of the classic Mini appeared in 1996, total production had declined to a low of 16,000 units a year. The Mini built by BMW-controlled Rover was a very different car under the skin to its predecessor and now came with a long list of optional extras. The heavily revised post-1996 Mini now sat on 13" wheels and the car’s distinctive side-mounted radiator had been replaced with a more conveniently located front-mounted unit that allowed the car to meet new limits on drive-by noise levels. A better heater and a pair of airbags featured whilst higher gearing provided a more relaxing drive and by now, all Minis were fitted with a 63bhp, twin-point, fuel-injected, 1,275cc A-Series engine. The end for the classic Mini finally came on 4th October 2000, when the last car rolled of the production line at Longbridge to the soundtrack of the film The Italian Job and thunderous applause from the gathered crowd of workers, management and journalists. And now, 24 years on, a 1990s Mini makes a tempting classic proposition.Due to the immense popularity of the Sports Pack, an option on 1997-2000 Minis, Rover decided to release a final standalone model with it fitted as standard. The ‘Classic Cooper Sport’ was born and became the flagship of the Mini range. The traditional Old English White roof and bonnet stripes were removed in favour of the more modern Platinum Silver. The Walnut dashboard was replaced with an alloy version, previously an optional extra on 1997-2000 models. The alloy interior pack (including window winders, door pulls and door handles) was now fitted as standard. Finally, the 'Cooper' logo centre caps were replaced with green 'Mini' ones, as were the logos on the steering wheels.Just 2,091 right-hand drive Classic Cooper Sports were made from the last batch of production, each with the unique SAXXNP chassis number and today, these are highly sought after and rare cars with just 587 known to the Register. The car presented here is a 2000 Mini Classic Cooper Sport 2000 in Solar Red and silver paintwork, representing the pinnacle of the late Rover Mini incarnations, a firm must-have for any classic Mini fan or collector. With just under 8,000 miles covered and in a rarely seen state of preservation, this single owner from new example is of collector quality and needs to be seen to be fully appreciated.Specification Make: ROVER Model: MINI CLASSIC COOPER SPORT 2000 Year: 2000 Chassis Number: SAXXNPAZE1D186719 Registration Number: X339 YPR Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 12A2LK70382096 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 7967 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
Magazine-featured RV8 with some driver-focused upgrades. Offered without Reserve. In creating the RV8, Rover very cleverly used a combination of off-the-shelf parts, such as the Range Rover's V8 engine and British Motor Heritage's MG B bodyshell. So, in this reincarnation of the MG B, the rubber bumper specification body was utilised and modified to accept a new set of beautifully curvaceous outer panels. The 3.9-litre Range Rover EFi V8 engine developed 188bhp and gave the RV8 enough power to crack 0-60mph in just under six seconds which, even now, is pretty impressive. A 5-speed LT77 gearbox, derived from the Rover SD1 was used along with a new Salisbury axle. Very significant modifications were made to the suspension and brakes to bring the car up to date. The interior featured soft leather in Stone Beige and a Burr Elm facia and door caps. The RV8 was shown at the 1993 Tokyo Motor Show creating a huge demand which resulted in 1,583 examples (of the 1,983 total) being exported to Japan, however many of those cars have now come back to the UK, joining the 307 originally sold here. No RV8s were ever sold in the US and consequently, all examples are right-hand drive. On offer here is an RV8 that’s been privately owned by a close friend of Iconic Auctioneers since 2012 and is excitingly offered without Reserve. The UK Registration Number is M982 TAW (currently on private plate M11 00C which isn’t included with car) and the mileage at the time of cataloguing was 6,643 (by current owner) plus 22,000 miles on the old kph speedo, so just over 28,000 miles. The vendor reports that the car is in standard condition apart from the following:Optimax chip fitted when importedClive Wheatley designed for the car SPA X shocksClive Wheatley Polyurethane Bump Stops, EZ power steering (adjustable & on/off in car) absolutely essential for the wife and much loved by the sellerMesh wind stop (essential, try one without before you judge the reports)Wooden steering wheel and gear knob (the originals deteriorate badly but both good condition originals come with the car)DAB RadioIn September 2019, the car featured as the 'Dream Drive' in Classic Car magazine in a seven-page article with a copy included. The MG forms part of a 12-car Collection so there is always a service, oil change or a greasing Waxoyl/Lanogard treatment going on ensuring that the cars remain in ready-to-go condition. One of only 406 examples produced, this German-delivered car is refreshingly original, with just 31,000 miles, low owners and an enviable servicing history. Volkswagen's decision not to proceed with their designed-by-Porsche 914 replacement led to the latter taking on the project themselves. Launched in November 1975, the resulting 924 drew heavily on Volkswagen/Audi components - the 2-litre, four-cylinder, overhead-camshaft engine being a development of the Audi 100's and the 4-speed transaxle a VW unit. A 5-speed Porsche-designed gearbox and improvements to the suspension were early developments and in 1978 came the first truly high-performance 924 - the Turbo. The latter's extra 45bhp raised the top speed to around 150mph and this figure would be further improved upon by the 924 Carrera GT. A road model with competition potential, the luxuriously equipped Carrera GT was launched at the 1979 Frankfurt Show. Easily distinguishable from lesser 924s by virtue of its bonnet air intake and widened wheel arches, the Carrera GT was built in limited numbers - only 406 were made - 400 cars being the minimum requirement to gain homologation for rallying and 'Group 4' events. The standard version came with 210bhp, but this could be boosted to well over 300bhp for racing. Three cars were entered by the works in the 1980 Le Mans 24-Hour Race, finishing sixth, 12th and 13th.The car presented here is a 1981 (MY) Porsche 924 Carrera GT delivered new to Germany, thus LHD/937. It obviously came with the generous specification of a its model type, plus the additions of (115) Digital radio with traffic decoder, (197) stronger battery 63 Ah, (220) limited-slip differential 40% locking factor, (395) 16" forged alloy wheels, (398) exterior mirrors, heated and electrically adjustable, (425) rear window wiper and (650) removeable roof, but not electric windows and A/C - this an homologation model after all!It was sold to its first customer, Herr Maier, in October 1980 and was serviced routinely, at Porsche (Mahag) München, until 24,450km. Herr Maier continued to treasure it until 1999 and 47,500km before its second owner, Herr Class, also from Munich, acquired it and put it safely away into storage for around ten years. The third owner, Herr Beyerlein, did likewise, quietly placing the car into his Collection; neither Class nor Beyerlein registered the car for the road, having it purely as a collector-piece. Appreciating the car's impressively original, unmolested condition our Porsche-enthusiast vendor (a British businessman living/working in Switzerland) bought it in 2018 and subsequently oversaw its recommissioning (to comply with very stringent Swiss laws), spending approximately £5,000, enabling him to drive and enjoy it regularly - something the car has excelled at.Pleasingly and increasingly rarely, this 924 Carrera GT has remained wholly original, with only three previous enthusiast-owners and just 48,919km (30,396 miles), at the time of cataloguing, in 44 years. Reassuringly, it's still accompanied by the original service booklet documenting its regular maintenance, its Porsche Heritage Certificate and much associated paperwork. Our vendor, a member of the Owners Club, has conferred with model experts who deem its Indian Red (aka as Guards Red G1) paintwork to be (mostly) factory-original and were thrilled to see the original soundproofing still in-situ under the bonnet! This rare and exciting Porsche is presented to auction absolutely ready-to-go, having just been treated to a major service, including a cambelt, oil, brake and clutch fluid changes; it offers a great opportunity to take ownership of a rarely seen Porsche, in sought-after original condition that is guaranteed to attract all the right attention at any classic car event.NB: please note that the vendor will pay the UK import when the car sells if the buyer wishes to register the car in the UK.Specification Make: PORSCHE Model: 924 CARRERA GT Year: 1981 Chassis Number: WPOZZZ93ZBN700090 Registration Number: TBA Transmission: Manual Engine Number: (M31/50) 31500163 Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 48650 KM Make: LHD Interior Colour: Black pinstripe velourClick here for more details and images
Just two registered keepers, 28,425 miles from new and delightfully original. It was back in 1970 that Ford introduced their Rally Sport models - the RS range. Originally designed as a way of building limited numbers of homologation specials for serious competition use, it soon grew into a major marketing opportunity and one that Ford grabbed with both hands. By 1976, when the RS2000 Mk2 was launched, the term RS had grown to mean something a bit special. In late 1978, the 'Custom Pack' became an option and included the following; 'Fishnet' Recaro seats, full door cards, clock and pod centre console, 6J x 13" alloys, boot carpet, remote drivers door mirror and the back panel around the rear lights was painted black. The key word to describe this car is originality. It still retains all the original body panels and glass and has been looked after extraordinarily well throughout its life. Although it has been cherished by a number of aficionados with an eye for originality, astonishingly it still shows as only 'One former keeper'. Our respected Ford collector vendor acquired the car back in 2021 and has professionally housed it ever since within his Collection and unregistered to him. Showing just 28,425 miles from new, a figure that is corroborated by the car’s MOT history, it drives really well today and is surely one of the best unrestored examples available. When supplied new to Breeze of Amble, Morpeth on 6th June 1980, the owner was the Managing Director of a Ford dealership and he immediately treated the car to an application of Dinitrol, a type of Waxoyl protection, still visible today and which has definitely helped protect the bodywork from any rust or corrosion. The original Custom-spec included some dealer-fitted options when new:Rear Ford mud flapsFront Ford carpet matsGlass sunroofFront wheel-arch liners‘Group 1’ vented discs, calipers and compatible brake compensating valveRear seatbeltsJanspeed stainless-steel exhaust and manifoldThe car shines in all the right areas - the spare wheel and tyre are original and unused, as are the ashtray and cigar lighter and one key fits all the locks as when new. Coming to the sale with a fresh MOT until October 2025 and a good history file, this is a great opportunity to own a splendidly original and unmolested example of the rarer Custom version of a true Ford 1980s icon.Specification Make: FORD Model: ESCORT Year: 1980 Chassis Number: GCATAG005340 Registration Number: DBB 134V Transmission: Manual Engine Number: AG00534 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 28425 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
A much coveted example offered from long term ownership having covered just 3,361 miles from new - an exciting opportunity! Of all the BMW 'Z' cars, the 'Zukunft' tag is arguably most fittingly applied to the Z1, a car that even now, 35 years after it first went on sale, looks fresh and modern. The Z1 used a skeletal frame on which the body panels were mounted, making it incredibly stiff, banishing scuttle shake and endowing the car with superb handling. The body panels were made of plastic, mounted on a substructure of hot-dipped galvanised pressed steel and the seams were continuously zinc welded, adding 25% to body stiffness. The side panels and doors were made from General Electric's 'Xenoy' injection-cast thermoplastic, the bonnet and boot lid were glass reinforced plastic and the whole body was painted in a special flexible lacquer.'State of the Art' thinking was evident in every aspect of the car's design. Those magnificent doors were operated by toothed belts which lowered both the window and door at the touch of a button. The Z1 used the innovative 'Z-axle' suspension set-up at the rear and also featured some clever aerodynamics, including creating a high-pressure zone ahead of the wheels to induce downforce whilst the aerofoil-shaped rear silencer helped to decrease turbulence and lift. The engine is one of BMW's finest in the form of the M20 B25 2,494cc straight-six taken from the E30 325i. The Z1 is special in every sense of the word - it's special to look at, to sit in and to drive and importantly, as the years have passed, it has started to become more appreciated and values have started to climb. The Rydale/Rybrook name has been associated as a family business with strong BMW connections from 1972 until 2024 and over the years, the company has continually expanded through various Midlands-based franchise dealerships, including Oldbury, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, Shrewsbury, Evesham, Wolverhampton and Warwick. This year, the company was sold and is now owned by the Sytner Group under the chairmanship of American petrolhead, Roger Penske. This BMW Z1 was acquired in the early 2000s by the dealership group as a significant and interesting milestone in the development of BMW. Its innovative design and unique features like the drop down doors, made the rare car an icon of the marque. Today, it has covered just 3,361 miles, remaining mostly on display in dealerships and at BMW-related shows and exhibitions, but always stored indoors and regularly serviced and sent for an annual MOT. Accordingly, the mileage can be warranted as genuine and the car has had only two owners from new (although the V5C has been changed as the company name changed). This is a pristine example of the model, featuring that oh-so-smooth 2.5-litre straight-six coupled to a manual gearbox, that remains one of the ‘ultimate driving machines’ of the era.Specification Make: BMW Model: Z1 Year: 1989 Chassis Number: WBABA91040AL00222 Registration Number: EBZ 1567 Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 60562320 Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 3361 Miles Make: Only LHD Interior Colour: Black LeatherClick here for more details and images
Well specified manual gearbox car in a stylish colour combination with just over 31,000 miles. At the Geneva Show in March 1999, as a replacement for their much-admired F355, Ferrari introduced the 360 Modena to critical acclaim and not unsurprisingly, within weeks there was a two year waiting list. The 355 was a tough act to follow, but the 360 was rather special - its all-aluminium construction (a first for Ferrari) was revolutionary, resulting in a much lighter car along with increased rigidity (40% lighter than the 355's steel platform but also nearly 30% stiffer), whilst also improving the under-body aerodynamics using knowledge gained from Ferrari's F1 programme. All this combined with the flowing Pininfarina lines, computer-controlled suspension, a staggering 400bhp, 0-60 in 4.4 seconds and 186mph - immediately made its predecessor, the excellent 355, feel rather dated. The Modena also saw a new word introduced into Ferrari reviews - 'reliability'. The engineering had been more thoroughly thought through and this was (and still is) reflected in lower servicing costs than for earlier mid-engined examples of the 'Prancing Horse'. Higher levels of quality too meant that the 360 became one of the first truly modern Ferraris that could realistically be used every day. That didn't detract from the excitement factor however, with strong performance, a searing engine note and a very capable chassis.Supplied by Maranello Concessionaires Ltd, this right-hand drive 360 Modena is fitted with the desirable manual gearbox and looks particularly special in Argento Nürburgring with a rare Bordeaux and black leather interior. It's still fitted with the OE equipment Becker Ferrari radio with the original instruction leaflet. Well specified from new with factory Wing Shields, a 'Challenge' rear grille and full electric seats, it was later treated to a Nouvalari sports silencer which just takes the exhaust note under load to a different level. The indicated mileage of 31,484 is supported by a full service record detailing a major service conducted just over 1,000 miles ago which included cam belts, air-conditioning belt and water pump. The service book contains 14 service stamps at the correct mileages, with either main dealers or specialists and the MOT is valid until August 2025. The car is supplied with all its original manuals, a full Ferrari toolkit, interior dust cover, Ferrari soft briefcase, Ferrari documents case with torch, four keys and two fobs including the original red item. Being finished in a colour combination away from the obligatory makes this lovely Ferrari in 6-speed manual form a very interesting proposition, as earlier Modena examples are now catching the eye and beginning to come of age.Specification Make: FERRARI Model: 360 MODENA Year: 2001 Chassis Number: ZFFYR51C000122444 Registration Number: X866 MGJ Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 59966 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 31484 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Black/Bordeaux LeatherClick here for more details and images
Superbly presented 911 SC Targa fitted with the steel 'flatnose' body kit. Anyone who followed the World Championship of Makes (essentially an International championship for long-distance Sports Car racing), will remember their surprise at the shape of the new Porsche 935 when it first appeared at Mugello in March 1976. Subsequently, these ‘Flatnose’ 935s and 936s (in 'Group 6') were to prove very competitive in the hands of Ickx, Mass and Stommelen and during the next two seasons managed four victories in eight World Championship races and a triumph at Le Mans in each year. However, Porsche began to worry that all these victories by the works Flatnose cars might alienate the vast number of private clients who were investing their own money in conventionally-shaped competition 911s, and decided to restrict their efforts for 1978 to an entry at Le Mans. The distinctive look of the Flachbau (literally translated as 'Low Build') obviously retained its appeal in the minds of their road car customers and, from 1981 until early 1989, Porsche 930 Turbo buyers could specify their car in this style to special order. Inevitably, this new look became sought after by owners of lesser 911 models and a steel factory 'flatnose' body kit became available.Offered here is a Porsche 911 SC Targa sporting a steel factory flatnose body kit classically finished in gleaming Guards Red with a black interior. The Targa would not be one's first choice when adding a motorsport-focussed option but a glance at our images will confirm that the result is spectacular, a really special 911. Closer inspection shows that it has been very well engineered and suffice to say, the signature headlight operation is perfect confirming its factory parts underpinnings. The Porsche was supplied originally to the US and surprisingly, the history file contains invoices from its time over there. In 2003, work to the seats and other aspects of the interior was carried out by Beils Auto Upholstery in Chicago. Work to the fuel system was undertaken in 2005 by Murrays Auto’s with the mileage noted at 59,430. Four other invoices relate to work by Golz Motors during 2006 with the mileage at 61,050 miles. In November 2015, the Porsche was imported into the UK and allocated the UK-registration number, FCC 134X. Subsequently, various invoices from Design 911 and Porsche Bournemouth are on file and the Targa was subject to attention by RennSpeed in August 2020 and January 2021 which included a full engine and gearbox rebuild in exchange for £18,237.However, this gorgeous little Targa wasn't quite finished and in December 2021, Canfield Classics overhauled the complete induction system at a cost of £2,392.68. A new fuel tank and a bit more tweaking by a foremost Porsche specialist has culminated in a lengthy road test confirming that all the recent expenditure was worthwhile with the car now running 'as sweet as a nut'.The indicated mileage is still only 61,635 and the car is supplied with an owners manual, spare key and a full MOT.There was famously only one factory-built Flachbau Targa and this example with the steel factory 'flatnose' body kit is possibly unique in the UK, so if anybody asks, just let them wonder!Specification Make: PORSCHE Model: 911 SC Year: 1982 Chassis Number: WPOEA091XCS160443 Registration Number: FCC 134X Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 64C4026 Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 61635 Miles Make: LHD Interior Colour: Black LeatherClick here for more details and images
One of only 500 UK-supplied, right-hand drive examples, this Taiga Green CSL was subject to an impressive restoration some years ago with only light use since. The 3.0 CSL is a lightweight, performance-oriented version of the standard 3.0 CS/3.0 CSi Coupé. Utilising the E9 platform, the 3.0 CSL was unveiled at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show and was introduced in May 1972 as an homologation model for the German Touring Car Championship developed by a separate division within BMW AG, a division that would later become BMW Motorsport GmbH. The CSL achieved some great results, with wins at Le Mans in the touring car class in 1973 and 1974, the IMSA GT Championship in 1975 and winning the European Touring Car Championships every year from 1973 to 1979 (apart from a minor blip in 1974). The 'L' in the designation meant leicht (light), unlike in other BMW designations, where it meant lang (long).A total of 1,096 CSLs were built, with just 500 of these being imported into the UK. The great majority of UK cars had the 'City Package' option fitted, designed to make the 3.0 CSL more usable as a daily driver. These versions retained the standard interior trim, negating the total weight saving somewhat, but the other benefits were retained, including aero kit, thinner gauge steel and aluminium parts. Early CSLs, produced in late 1971 and early 1972, utilised the standard 2,985cc M30 inline-six engine with twin carburettors and were only offered in left-hand drive. They were replaced by a fuel-injected model displacing 3,003cc available in right-hand drive during late 1972 and early 1973. Fuel-injected CSLs with the 3-litre motor have VINs that run from 2275001 through 2275429 (left-hand drive version) and 2285-001 through 2285-500 (right-hand drive UK cars). On offer here, #2285-236 is a fine example of these 3,003cc UK, right-hand drive cars and was sold new in the UK on 21st March 1973. In 2011, it was subject to a full bare-metal restoration and painted in the period correct colour of Taiga Green by 355 Automobile Restorations International whilst at the same time, the engine, gearbox and other mechanicals were rebuilt by Ferrari Specialists SMDG. The comprehensive history file contains a record of the rebuild and earlier receipts form BMW specialist Jaymic, BMW Guildford and Munich Spares. The interior remains in great condition having been retrimmed and the signature wood veneer restored to a high level. It was purchased by our vendor in 2017 and has been used sparingly since. Recent work for a new MOT by marque specialists Everything M3s and Rabsport Engineering has included new tyres, wheel bearing adjustment, front caliper rebuilds and a new battery. This lovely, stylish BMW 3.0 CSL Coupé in glorious Taiga Green represents a fine example of the car that defined Touring Cars in the 1970s and 50 years later, still has a presence that few cars can match.Specification Make: BMW Model: 3.0 CSL Year: 1973 Chassis Number: 2285236 Registration Number: JJU 404L Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 2285236 Make: Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images
Considered by many as 'the one to have', this HF Integrale Evo II is a superb example, enthusiast-owned, just 43,500km from new, comprehensively serviced and ready to be enjoyed. First seen at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1979, the Lancia Delta Integrale is best-known for its domination of the World Rally Championship in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Constantly being developed, the first ‘Evoluzione’ cars were built at the end of 1991 and carried on through 1992 and these Evo models were to be the final homologation cars built for the Lancia Rally Team competing under the Martini Racing banner.Arriving in June 1993, a further development of the HF Integrale naturally became known as the 'Evo II', and featured an updated version of the 2-litre 16-valve turbo engine producing a little more power (215bhp) and incorporated a three-way catalyst and a Lambda probe, with everything being run by a new Marelli integrated engine control system. Only 4,223 cars were ever built for the global market and the car is now regarded, like several previous Lancia models such as the Fulvia, Stratos and 037, as 'Rally Royalty'.Classically finished in Monza Red with a Beige Alcantara interior, this remarkable 1993 Delta Integrale Evo II was originally supplied to Japan and was first registered there on 1st November 1993. Whilst in Japan, it’s believed to have been enjoyed by two collector owners and pleasingly, it’s still accompanied by a full set of Japanese books and records including the service history and the relevant Export Certificate. The car was subsequently imported to the UK in 2016 and was sold by us (Silverstone Auctions at the time) before passing through the hands of Avantgarde Classics and the Hairpin Company, becoming the property of its current enthusiast owner in 2020. Between 2017 and 2022 it was maintained and mechanically recommissioned by marque experts Zagato Lancia, Tanc Barrett and a French specialist with attention to the suspension, auxiliaries and belt changes. All this work is fully detailed in the car’s history file, which contains service and maintenance invoices covering this period. It was most recently serviced in 2023 with only minimal mileage since. At the time of cataloguing, the odometer indicated just 43,500km (27,030 miles) and the little Lancia’s condition can only be described as exceptional. The paintwork remains bright and unmarked, as is the Alcantara interior with even the seat bolsters looking fresh. The engine bay is clean and tidy and consistent with the indicated mileage and there is no evidence of external rust anywhere. Descriptions within the history file include 'one of the best we have seen', 'close to perfect' and 'as close to a 'reference' Evo II as it’s possible to get', all suggesting that this very low-mileage ‘Evoluzione’ has been cherished from new.The second-generation Evo is particularly topical at the moment and collectors are constantly seeking exceptional examples which this car firmly represents. The market for Integrales of all types continues to firm and this superb example, in striking Monza Red with remarkably low mileage, deserves your consideration.Specification Make: LANCIA Model: DELTA INTERGRALE Year: 1993 Chassis Number: ZLA831AB000583064 Registration Number: L376 LPY Transmission: Manual Engine Number: EL31E5 Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 43500 KM Make: LHDClick here for more details and images
Charming AVJ Royal Mail van sympathetically restored and returned to service. Succeeding the popular AVH, the Austin AVJ Van arrived in 1935 and featured Girling brakes, a three-bearing engine and a redesigned flatter roofline. They were the last vans to be made before the more rounded, Ruby-style vans appeared in 1937.On offer here is #AVJ1814, first registered on 24th September 1936 and originally finished in blue. Little is known of DGH 327 until it’s recorded as being purchased by the Post Office-owned Bamber Bridge Central Workshops in 1981 prior to its restoration.Between 1981 and 1982, DGH was recreated as a 1936 Royal Mail postal delivery van with particular attention to detail including the complex interior letter racking which suggests that the work was carried out by Post Office fitters such is the level of accuracy. The little van was allocated its own fleet number, 00-00-01, and entered service from 1982 onwards to be used as a promotion vehicle at a time when postcodes had just arrived and very few people used them. With the vehicle is a copy of a theatrically staged postcard in Toad Lane with a friendly postman leaning out the window of DGH and a request for your ‘postcode’ support on the back. We understand that it remained on the Royal Mail ‘fleet’ until its purchase by the previous owner in 2004 and was used sparingly attending shows etc., until his passing in 2022 when it became part of a private Collection. It's still delightfully presented in Royal Mail livery and colours, finished in Post Office Red with painted Royal Mail logos, black wheel arches and black painted wire wheels. The inside appears period correct in black vinyl, cream paint and black carpets in the front.A rare sight on the roads today and with a fascinating history, we believe this charismatic little Austin would be a welcome addition to any Collection.Specification Make: AUSTIN Model: SEVEN VAN Year: 1936 Chassis Number: 249377 Registration Number: DGH 327 Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
A most elegant Derby Bentley, sporting Vanden Plas coachwork and propelled by the divine 4¼-litre engine, ideal for pre-war rallies and events and offered without Reserve. After a period of reflection and prevarication, Rolls-Royce decided that a sportier version of its 20/25 model could establish a niche for itself in the marketplace as a luxury sports tourer. Having explored various options, it was decided to power the new sporting Bentley with a more highly tuned version of the 20/25 unit - a six-cylinder, pushrod engine fitted with twin S/U carburettors, increased compression, improved con rods and modified cam profiles, with a capacity of 3,669cc. Built at Derby alongside Rolls-Royce and launched in September as, unsurprisingly, ‘the 3½-Litre’, the new model possessed excellent handling characteristics and could achieve a top speed of 97mph when fitted with lightweight bodywork.Polite muttering amongst Bentley aficionados that the 3½-litre was, perhaps, a little underpowered was addressed in 1936 when Rolls-Royce introduced the enlarged 4,255cc engine, with the new car naturally being entitled the 4¼-Litre.Over the years, Derby cars were fitted with a wide range of body styles by a number of established coachbuilders, clearly illustrated in 2023 when 60 Derby Bentleys returned to Crewe to celebrate the 90th Anniversary and between the cars, there were 40 coachwork styles showcasing the bespoke bodywork for the model in the 1930s. Included within those coachbuilding companies was London-based Vanden Plas who had forged its not inconsiderable reputation by a most fortuitous alliance with Bentley, bodying some c.700 of the latter's chassis during the 1920s, including the Le Mans team cars. With its 4¼-Litre engine and versatile Drophead Coupé body by Vanden Plas, B-199-LE is a particularly fine example of a late Derby Bentley and we understand that it was restored by respected French restorers, Le Coq, in the 1970s and since then has benefited from major work over the years by LMB in Belgium and Fiennes Engineering in Clanfield leaving the car in tip-top condition. It was treated to a very expensive repaint in April 2023 in Midnight Blue and still displays a remarkable depth of shine with even panelwork and good shut lines. The Dove Grey leather is generally very good as is the dashboard and woodwork, however the silver grey carpets would probably benefit from a clean. The engine bay is simply splendid, nicely detailed and a source of pride. According to our vendor 'The navy blue mohair roof folds easily down and may be raised and lowered by just one person' and additionally 'the engine runs in silence and is both strong and powerful, starting readily'. The car’s history file contains a number of invoices for maintenance, repair and restoration over the years and makes fascinating reading. It's worth noting that this car is fitted with the optional 3.64:1 rear axle ration which is almost identical to the MR & MX 'overdrive' series of cars and consequently is very long legged and relaxed at speed. Overall, this is a very handsome Vanden Plas Derby and being offered without Reserve, we imagine will attract considerable interest.Professional images to follow.Specification Make: BENTLEY Model: 4 1/4-LITRE Year: 1938 Chassis Number: B-199-LE Registration Number: FGW 263 Transmission: Manual Engine Number: A6BN Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Make: RHD Interior Colour: Dove Grey LeatherClick here for more details and images
From a renowned Private Collection, an astonishing Escort RS Cosworth Lux with just 2,221 miles and only two owners from new. Iconic Auctioneers are renowned worldwide for offering the best Performance Fords on the market at auction and occasionally we are offered what can only be described as 'unrepeatable' cars. We have little doubt that this remarkable Escort RS Cosworth is unlikely to be matched in terms of its originality and 'as new' condition for some time to come.Just like the Lancia Integrale and Subaru Impreza, the Escort Cosworth was a 'Group A' rally car for the road - pure and simple. It was actually underpinned by a shortened version of the Sierra RS Cosworth's platform and powered by the same 2-litre turbocharged, longitudinally-mounted, Cosworth-developed engine driving all four wheels. The car was designed and engineered in Boreham, styled by noted designer Stephen Harper and ended up being assembled by Karmann in Germany. The Escort RS Cosworth was an 'homologation special' and its only role was to incorporate parts that Ford planned to use in their rally cars to ensure success in International Rallying. That success duly followed between 1993 and 1998 in the World Rally Championship for Manufacturers, but the road cars were very rare - with just 2,500 of these very focussed motor cars being built, becoming known as 'big-turbo cars', all capable of 150mph and easily identified by the aptly named 'Whale Tail' rear spoiler. This particular example is a stunning, UK-supplied, right-hand drive car finished in Diamond White with the desirable Lux-specification which included full leather, an electric sunroof, electric heated mirrors, heated windscreen, heated washer jets, leather steering wheel, electric windows and carpeted door bins. It has been a cherished part of the significant Collection from which it is offered and having been acquired almost 30 years ago, the car has been cosseted by both its first keeper, from whom it was purchased with just over 2,000 miles indicated and our late vendor who, it would appear, has added minimal mileage in the intervening years. We understand that it was regularly taken to shows in the 1990s, presumably by trailer and featured at an Autoglym Invitation Concours in 2009 where it sat alongside a Shelby Cobra belonging to the renowned petrol head and celebrity chef, James Martin. The odometer currently displays a remarkable 2,221 miles, supported by the car's first two MOT Certificates from 1995 and 1996 showing 2,217 and 2,218 miles respectively, providing evidence of how little the car has been used. In between its trailered outings, it has been part of the family living in our vendor's house in recent times.Given the lack of use in recent years, it has been decided to bring the car to sale following a thorough pre-auction preparation by the respected Tremona Garage of Southampton. The car will arrive at the NEC in a 'ready to drive' condition, although it won't be put through an MOT (it's a bit academic considering it's only covered three miles since the last one) and given that it doesn't currently sit on the DVLA system and may well become part of another Collection where daily use is not a factor.Once an integral part of one man's Collection of all the very best that Ford had to offer, we are sure that this 'as new' Escort RS Cosworth will find another home where it is equally treasured.Professional images to follow. An incredible time-warp single owner Deux Chevaux with just over 550 miles from new and offered without Reserve. The Citroën 2CV is unquestionably one of the most enduring archetypes of global car culture. It helped put the French working class on wheels, especially important after the ravages of WWII and offered basic transportation, a boon to the French economy both from a transportation and a manufacturing standpoint. There are a number of ‘urban myths’ concerning head of Citroën, Pierre-Jules Boulanger’s 1930s vision for the future but, allegedly, the new car had to be able to 'transport four peasants with 100kg of farm produce to market at 50kph in clogs and across muddy unpaved roads if necessary. The roof had to be high enough, enabling driver and passengers to ride whilst wearing their Sunday hats to church, the car’s fuel consumption would need to average 90-95mpg, it should be able to drive across a ploughed field without breaking the eggs it was carrying and above all, it had to stay within the ‘two horsepower’ fiscal bracket to remain affordable'.We doubt whether any of that (apart from the 2CV bit) was in Boulanger's original design brief but what was actually required included a small, economical engine that could be easily fixed, a modular panel construction that was easy to screw back together, long travel suspension that offered an easy ride over everything from ploughed fields to rutted lanes and of course a rag-topped aspect that eschewed security and luxury for the most down to earth motoring experience. The aesthetic appearance was secondary, with functionality the only consideration. It was a transport solution that could replace the traditional pony and trap – and it had a roof! There are many stories about the origins of the Citroën 2CV. In fact, most of its early history appears to be anecdotal, however, it doesn’t really matter as all those stories, tall or otherwise, simply add to the little car’s charm. One story that's definitely not anecdotal is the remarkable tale of this 602cc, Vallelunga Red, 2CV6 Spéciale. French production having finished in 1988, this example was built in Portugal and rolled off the line on 12th June 1990, the final cars doing so just weeks later on 27th July. It was registered by the supplying dealer in Somerset on 9th August which is presumably when our vendor's father took delivery. He took a shine to the car looking lonely in the corner of the dealer's showroom and was, perhaps, also aware that final-editions of iconic models often increased in value over the years if used sparingly. Our vendor, a former international athlete and now an acclaimed sports journalist, was only six-years old when the Citroen arrived home and, naturally, enjoyed a ride in dad's funny little French car. Over the years, when she returned home, she was aware that the car was still there, " wrapped in cotton wool", but it came as a total surprise when it was gifted to her on her 21st Birthday, something that Dad had been planning for years. What a lovely story.Despite not being used during that period, we understand that it was regularly started and maintained as required. Fitted with electronic ignition, the only modification we understand from when it left the factory, it still bears many of the quality inspection stickers that would have been present when it rolled off the production line. She has enjoyed the car occasionally when at home, with the odometer now displaying the grand total of 557 miles from new, however, the loss of its storage space now gives us the opportunity to bring it to sale.Rarely does a car of this age with just one registered keeper come to light, even less so when it is a model with such cult status, and offered as it is at No Reserve, we anticipate that collectors will abound. UK-supplied, right-hand drive E46 M3 in Titanium Silver, 6-speed manual gearbox and just over 34,000 miles. BMW’s third-generation M3, the E46, took the hearts of real sports car fans by storm when it was launched in 2000. With a lightweight construction and its high-revving, in-line six-cylinder engine, it embodied, for many, a return to the virtues of the legendary first-generation cars, the E30. Priced on a par with the Porsche Boxster S, the E46 M3 was streets ahead in performance, challenging the much pricier 911 and Audi RS4. Stiffened, wider-tracked with big wheel arches and a massive front spoiler, it packed a 343bhp 3.2-litre ‘S54’ straight-six engine substantially re-engineered by the 'M' division. All cars were officially limited to 155mph, although Autocar’s test model happily topped 170mph.The pre-delivery inspection for this manual-gearbox Titanium Silver Metallic M3 was carried out by BMW main dealer, Wellways of Bath, on 27th December 2001 for delivery to its first owner in the New Year 2002 and consequently it's regarded as a 2002 model. The service book contains a further seven stamps, corroborating the remarkably low mileage of just over 34,000 and the current MOT is valid until June 2025.Probably the last of the true analogue M3s with the harmonious S54 3.2 engines, these high quality build Coupés can only appreciate and still represent incredible value as a true 175mph super handling offering from Bavaria.Specification Make: BMW Model: M3 Year: 2002 Chassis Number: WBSBL920X0JR01610 Registration Number: TBA Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 60962671 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 34164 Miles Interior Colour: Titanium SilverClick here for more details and images
One of 108 original right-hand drive examples of the rare MkV Drophead in superb condition. The Jaguar MkV was officially unveiled on 30th September 1948 and launched at the London Motor Show a month later, sharing stand space with the XK120. Whilst the XK120 stole the show, the MkV vastly outsold it by roughly 3,000 cars per year. The MkV retained the Standard Swallow (SS) drivetrain including the overhead-valve pushrod straight-six 2½ and 3½-litre engines, the 3,485cc six being rated at 126bhp. The chassis was new, introducing independent front suspension with double wishbones and torsion bars, a feature of many future offerings from Jaguar and it also had hydraulic brakes and an all-pressed steel body. The standard saloon was attractive, but the three-position Drophead Coupe was truly magnificent. The lovely canvas top had working Landau irons and could be fully fastened, folded half way back to give a Sedanca appearance, or lowered into a full convertible position. When open, it was easy to see the opulent leather and wood interior. Just 108 right-hand drive 3½-litre Drophead Coupes were produced, as most were built for the left-hand drive export market.Built in 1950, this rare Australian-supplied 3½-litre example spent the vast majority of its life down under, benefitting from a Concours-level restoration by renowned restorer Peter Leach in the 1990s. Upon completion, the car was traded between collectors within Australia until it was repatriated in 2021. Finished in its original colours of Royal Blue with a cream leather interior, we understand that it retains its original engine and four-speed manual gearbox.SXS 806 presents well in its original colours of Royal Blue with a cream leather interior and the Australian climate has been kind to the underside which is impressive. Since its arrival back in the UK, it's been looked after by marque specialist and SS gurus, Davenport Cars.Supplied with a large history file, this is a rare opportunity to purchase one of the most beautiful 3.5-litre, MkV Dropheads, one of just 108 built. A late production example, this XK has been beautifully restored by Jaguar specialists, CMC. A car-starved Britain, still trundling around in perpendicular pre-war hangover vehicles, glimpsed the future in October 1948 with the launch of the Jaguar XK120 at the Earls Court Motor Show. Production commenced in 1949 in Coventry, and the XK's swoopy shape and stylish occupants would become a common sight on British roads over the next 15 years. It heralded the arrival of Jaguar's famous 3.4-litre twin overhead camshaft XK engine, (the basis of all their engines for the next 25 years) with an alloy cylinder head and twin side-draught SU carburettors producing nearly 160bhp. The '120' referred to the car's top speed which, at the time, made it the fastest production car in the world. Jaguar seems to have always had a flair for marketing and to illustrate that the car's top speed was not a figment of a publicist's imagination, in May 1949, on the Jabbeke to Aeltre autoroute, an XK120 with its hood and side screens in place recorded a speed of 126mph, and no less than 132mph with the hood and windscreen detached and an undertray fitted. The car was in almost instant demand and went on to spawn the famous XK lineage of fast and elegant sports cars. This particular XK120 Coupé was originally built in left-hand drive during December 1953 and dispatched to New York prior to being registered there early in 1954. Returning to these shores in the late 1990s, it was converted to right-hand drive and fully restored. Invoices and photographs in the comprehensive history file and records on XK Data show that the work was carried out by Roger Austin Learmonth and subsequently featured in his book Petrolhead. Upgrades at the time included the fitting of a 4.2-litre XK power unit and period bucket seats to enhance legroom. Now finished in beautiful Opalescent Blue with a red leather upholstery, the car was further updated with a louvered bonnet with straps and wire wheels, all designed to make it ideal for European touring. It was re-registered in the UK during July 2003 and used extensively until being sold to our late vendor (a characterful bon viveur and friend of Iconic Auctioneers owner, Nick Whale) in 2016. It was bought for some £115,000 at the time as probably the very best example of an upgraded model available. However, our late vendor was particularly fastidious and wanted the very best car available to enjoy and with which to tour Europe. Consequently the services of renowned specialists, CMC of Bridgnorth, were employed and between March 2017 and December 2019 the history file illustrates that some £88,824 plus VAT was invested in rebuilding this car for a second time and the results are really impressive. Naturally, this work was recorded and fully detailed in a selection of invoices which need to be studied in order to understand the sheer level of detail applied to every aspect of this rebuild to, what can only be described as, the ultimate standard. Shortly after all this work was completed, our vendor got to enjoy his 'pride and joy' on a trip to Le Mans during which the Jaguar performed faultlessly, however, a little later, he sadly fell ill and was not able to spend much more time in his beloved XK. So today, this is a remarkable opportunity for someone to own a very special motor car that has had all the money spent in the right areas, and with the best people, and take WAS 210 on to the next stage of its journey. We invite and encourage your close inspection of this stunning motor car and its fascinating history file in order to fully appreciate the quality on offer and be pleasantly surprised by the very realistic guide price.Specification Make: JAGUAR Model: XK120 Year: 1953 Chassis Number: 681302 Registration Number: WAS 210 Transmission: Manual Engine Number: F1430-8 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 4673 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Red LeatherClick here for more details and images
Rare UK-supplied WRX-STi Type UK. Collector's quality modern classic with just one owner from new. The 2002 Impreza WRX STi Prodrive-style Type-UK was a second generation, four-door saloon, built for the UK-market between October 2001 and February 2002. Available in WRC Blue Mica or Midnight Black they were powered by the traditional 1,994cc, DOHC flat-four generating 265bhp fed to the road through full-time four-wheel drive with viscous limited-slip centre differential (VCD-F4WD).Differences to the regular WRX include special gold-coloured spoked alloy wheels, colour-keyed sill spoilers and an interior featuring blue suede-effect seats with STi logos and red stitching for the steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake lever. Inside - and sure to please enthusiasts - is a switch to spray the intercooler with water. Another device allows the driver to pre-set a warning buzzer and light to guard against over-revving the engine. On opening the bonnet, the engine compartment greets owners with a dramatic mixture of colours and detailing. The intake manifold, for example, is painted in red and the enlarged aluminium intercooler emblazoned with STi lettering. In addition, the STi Prodrive style features a massive high-riding boot spoiler, newly designed sill spoilers and a deeper, squarer front bumper all designed to resemble the WRC rally car. Interior enhancements over the standard STi include dark blue-coloured instruments with red needles. This smart Midnight Black example was first registered on 17th July 2002 and has been enjoyed by one lady owner since then. It was fitted with a Prodrive performance pack in 2003 by the SubaruWelch Group at a cost of £2,000 with the invoice on file. The current indicated mileage is 44,743, corroborated by the service book containing eight stamps, the last @ 43,859 miles on 5th July 2023 and every MOT from new. It's also accompanied by its current and two previous V5Cs, the service pack and user manuals, both keys and two fobs.In production for only a few months and with a specification designed to suit UK-buyers, it's not surprising that the Type-UK has consistently remained in demand. Very well known multi Championship-winning Twin-Cam now returned to pristine condition, with a remarkable restoration. By the time the Escort first came out in 1968, Ford were already firmly wedded to the marketing strategy of 'win on Sunday, sell on Monday' and were keenly aware that they would need a race/rally version to take over from where the mighty Lotus Cortina had left off. To this end, Ford’s Boreham-based competition department had been quietly beavering away on a Lotus-powered Escort that was ready to roll as soon as the standard models hit the showrooms. Called the 'Twin Cam', the hot new Escort immediately excelled on the international race and rally circuits, winning countless events and securing Ford the coveted World Rally Championship manufacturer’s trophy in its first year of production, a feat which it also repeated the following year.Introduced in 1968 in very limited numbers for homologation purposes, the Escort Twin-Cam is now one of Ford's most revered cars and still regarded as a formidable road car. Based on a reinforced Type 49 body shell with wider wheel arches, quarter bumpers, uprated suspension and front disc brakes as standard, it was powered by a Lotus-designed, 8-valve twin camshaft head mated to Ford’s 1.5-litre pre-crossflow block bored out to 1,558cc offering 110bhp and 115mph. Only 883 Twin-Cam models were made before production ended in 1970 to make way for the BDA-powered RS1600. The car presented here is a very special Twin Cam - NBH 769H was an early production example, bought brand new from the Aylesbury Motor Company in 1969 by Mick Briant – the hugely successful British rally driver who won the Motoring News Championship three times, the BTRDA and the Welsh Championship. Mick has documented his illustrious history in British National Rallying in three books in which NBH 769H features. Mick recounts his exploits in the car with much enthusiasm: 'I don’t recall my actual first outing (in NBH 769H), but my first National event was the January 1970 Rally Bristowe, with Mick Mancy navigating (numerous photos of the pair appear in one of Mick’s book, 'Do you have to drive like that?'), we managed eighth overall out of 150 starters'.Mick went on to endow NBH 769H with an upgraded engine, courtesy of Racing Services of Twickenham, stroking and boring the original block and taking it out to 1,860cc. The engine was dry-sumped, had a steel crank and rods, Cosworth pistons and L1 cams, big valves and some other 'trick' bits. Mick states: 'I don’t recall the actual power output, but it was the best engine possible until the 2-litre alloy-blocked Cosworth BDA become an option'. Mick recalls that NBH 76DH went onto receive the de-rigueur big arches of the time and a colour change to orange (which coined the car the nickname 'The Orange Box').He did several rounds in the prestigious Motoring News Championship in NBH 769H, always finishing in the top ten and in 1971 Mick won the London Counties Rally Championship in NBH 769H, with Donald Close navigating. The car was renewed in-period and returned to white bodywork with a black bonnet that displayed the ‘Go Perrys’ livery (the Ford dealer in Aylesbury). NBH 769H is listed as 'Escort 1860' (car #40) on the entry list of the 1971 Jim Clark Memorial Rally, in which Mick drove (with Peter Robinson navigating), and of which a photo exists of the car on the start line.In 2017, our vendor (a rally enthusiast, driver and car collector) acquired NBH 769H and entrusted it to master engineer, Andrew Stapley of ASM Classics in Kent, who specialise in restoring some of the best classic Fords in the UK. Over some four years, our vendor has invested c.£65,000 in bringing this venerable rally car up to a remarkable standard. So much so, it was invited to be displayed at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2021, where after nearly 50 years apart, Mick Briant and Peter Robinson were reunited with the car, plus some of its navigators, all autographing the inside of the doors (captured in photos and video).ASM's expert attention included a full renewal of the Twin-Cam signature paint colour, Ermine White (with black bonnet and in period livery), its big-arch Type 49 shell, its revered Lotus Twin-Cam engine (with associated dyno readings), its DCOE Weber carbs, 4-speed gearbox, competition clutch and pressure plate, English axle (with 4.7 diff ratio & LSD), coil sprung front Bilstein suspension, leaf sprung rear, plus the addition of Cibie spotlights and a whole host of mods to make this into a formidable period rally/fast-road car.NBH 769H has only been used sparingly since its complete restoration, residing in our vendor’s private Collection, but notably, it was driven ‘up the hill’ at Shelsley Walsh by our vendor and indeed, one Mick Briant – again, all captured for posterity and provenance. MOT'd and 'match-fit', this is a turn-key classic performance Ford. This really is a special car and deserves to be fully appreciated and enjoyed by a similar enthusiast. If you simply want the best possible Mk1 Escort Twin-Cam, this one might just be too good to miss!Specification Make: FORD Model: ESCORT TWIN CAM Year: 1969 Chassis Number: BB49JA17572 Registration Number: NBH 769H Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
Now US-eligible, this sensibly guided Bayside Blue Series I might be the final opportunity to own an R34 GT-R at a reasonable budget. Whilst many of the PlayStation generation will have first experienced the drama of the R34 GT-R V-Spec through Gran Turismo, it was an appearance in The Fast and the Furious franchise that led to an explosion in global popularity for the R34 GT-R. Indeed, the late Paul Walker drove an R34 GT-R in 2 Fast 2 Furious, enhancing its almost cult status. But it was in the 'real' world where the R34 GT-R would cement its reputation. Described by Evo magazine as 'a warrior-class performer' in its 2007 road test, where a standard R34 GT-R was pitted against the likes of a McLaren F1, Pagani Zonda, Ferrari F40 and Bugatti Veyron, the GT-R's reputation as a class-act remained intact. It may not be able to claim the original 'Godzilla' moniker as that remains with the R32 GT-R, but the newcomer definitely carried the torch and arguably the R34 GT-R has become the most recognised car ever to emerge from Japan in their late-1990s golden era. Synonymous with the late Paul Walker who had a true passion for the R34, managing to own two of the 14 examples to have been federalized in the early 2000s. As soon as the The Fast and The Furious franchise used the GT-R as the hero car in their series, the popularity of the R34 surged worldwide and continues to remain on that upward trajectory to this day.The R33 GT-R was a good car, but many found it to be too bulky in design and too heavy to be a worthy successor to the R32 GT-R, which the R34 sought to rectify and did so with flying colours. Released with a shorter, sharper design and the performance to match, it’s safe to say the bite truly matches the bark. For a car released in 1999, the R34 came crammed full of technology including a 5.8" LCD multifunction display in the dashboard showing seven different live readings of engine and vehicle statistics such as boost pressure, oil/water temperature and throttle percentage among others. It arrived with aggressive new styling, a stiffer bodyshell and a reworked version of the bulletproof and highly modifiable RB26DETT twin-turbo, inline-six mated to an all-new Getrag 6-speed gearbox and transfer case. The electronically controlled Super HICAS rear-wheel steering system was retained. Unlike some other performance cars of the 1990s, Nissan did not neglect the braking system and fitted Brembo brakes with 300mm vented discs. This Bayside Blue (TV2) R34 GT-R Series I presents in good condition and with the exception of the larger exhaust system, remains in almost totally standard guise, seldom seen on these JDM machines. According to the R34 'bible', the GT-R Registry, the car was produced in May 1999 and spent the vast majority of its life in Japan until being imported to the UK in 2022. As a Series I JDM-delivered example, it's one of just 2,709 out of a production run of 11,578 cars. As is common with JDM imports, there is minimal Japanese history with the car but the history file does contain the original Skyline handbook and service book with the first two inspections completed, both housed in the original Nissan wallet.Upon its arrival in the UK in 2022, the car was registered and MOT’d, showing 93,098km (57,848 miles) at the time and upon completion, it lived a pampered life seldom emerging from its garage-stored hibernation. In 2024, the car was sent to Nissan gurus, Litchfield Motors, for a full service and remedial works to sort a few minor issues and to bring it up to standard once again, at a cost of £4,244.67. It has subsequently been MOT’d and now displays 93,891km (58,341 miles), showing it has covered just 500 miles on UK roads. Crucially, being an early production car, it is now eligible for US-import, an itch that many will have to scratch, having surpassed the obligatory 25-year import rule. With the way R34 GT-R prices have skyrocketed so easily into six-figures in recent years, this cherished example is surely the last chance to acquire such a desirable car for a reasonable outlay, especially considering the 25-year import rule legalising these cars in the US means that values may well move on even further.Specification Make: NISSAN Model: SKYLINE R34 GT-R Year: 1999 Chassis Number: BNR34004259 Registration Number: T897 YDC Transmission: Manual Engine Number: RB26 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 60000 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Grey ClothClick here for more details and images
As a right-hand drive, UK-market 3.0 Carrera, this car is rare and special enough, but factor in a full restoration by a renowned Porsche specialist and you have a seriously desirable 1970s 911. Introduced in September 1975 for the 1976 model-year with production only running until 1977, the interesting Carrera 3.0 is rightly regarded as somewhat of a special and rare model amongst the impact-bumper era 911 model range.Following on after the MFI-engined Carrera 2.7, the 3.0 Carrera heralded the adoption of the newly developed Bosch K-Jetronic CIS fuel-injection engine. This torque-rich, smooth and free-revving 3-litre engine with a distinctive ‘cam' effect from 4,000rpm produced 200bhp and was effectively a naturally aspirated version of the 930 Turbo's drivetrain.During its short two year life span, only 3,687 cars were built - a tiny amount compared to nearly 58,000 911 SCs and 76,500 3.2 Carreras produced. Of these, 2,564 were Coupés and 1,123 were Targas with only around 1,064 Coupés being manufactured in right-hand drive. Very few right-hand drive cars reached the UK and with just a two-year production run, only 121 Carrera 3.0 Coupés are verified by their chassis numbers with Porsche Club GB - and this is one of them. The car presented here is a 1975 (1976 M-Y) Porsche 911 3.0 Carrera Coupé and as confirmed by its chassis number, #9116600249, it is an early-production example of the highly-revered 3.0 Carrera. We know some of its early history; it was first registered in the UK on 13th November 1975, wearing registration RWS 113 (which it wore for 11 years). By 2007, its registration was MHR 570, it was Midnight Blue and it was not adorned with a rear spoiler, having covered 88,508 miles (according to an old MOT Certificate). At this time, according to the DVLA, it was exported out of the UK. In 2015, it was specially sourced by classic Porsche specialist Jon Miller of ‘Classic Carreras’ in Limerick, a business so well known and respected that Porsche Club Ireland members used to make an annual pilgrimage to it! Jon imported the car into the Republic of Ireland, selecting it for his own Collection/potential future project and by 2022 it was indeed the subject of a ground-up, nut and bolt restoration to the exacting standards expected of Classic Carreras (see images of it attached in their workshop).Towards the end of the restoration process, our vendor – himself a collector of best of breed classic cars – approached Jon with the intention of buying the car. A deal was struck and our vendor has enjoyed the car for the last few years, using it sparingly on dry days only around roads of County Clare. It has not disappointed, being a proper driving machine and turning heads wherever it goes. It is now being offered for sale at a tempting auction estimate, considerably less that it would cost to source and restore such a desirable 1970s Porsche. As one of the rarest UK-market production 911s, and considered perhaps the most ‘en-vogue’ model of the marque’s back-catalogue, this fully restored example represents good value against the 930 Turbo and is the smart choice for those who respect history and rarity. Please note VAT will be due on this lot at a rate of 5% on the hammer price and buyer's premium plus the prevailing rate on the buyer's premium if the car is to stay in the UK.Specification Make: PORSCHE Model: 911 3.0 CARRERA COUPE Year: 1975 Chassis Number: 9116600249 Registration Number: TBA Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 6669074 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Make: RHD Interior Colour: Tartan / BlackClick here for more details and images
Very well specified, 992.1 GT3 Touring in Gentian Blue with a bespoke interior and just over 2,200 miles. For over 20 years, Porsche’s GT3 has cemented its legend within the 911 dynasty, one which enhances the 911’s natural penchant for performance with additional flair and emotion. Powered by a high-revving, naturally aspirated flat-six linked to the rear wheels by – ideally - a manual gearbox, the GT3 is the purist’s 911.In February 2021, Porsche introduced the GT3 version of the eighth-generation 911, the 992. The numbers were very impressive; 3,996cc, 24v, naturally aspirated flat-six, 503bhp @ 8,400rpm, 347lb/ft @ 6,100rpm, 6-speed manual gearbox, rear-wheel drive, 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds, 199mph and 22mpg, however, it’s not simply numbers that separate it from its predecessor, the much revered 991. A new front suspension design utilised a double wishbone set-up rather than MacPherson struts and rose-joints allowing Porsche’s engineers to increase camber stiffness, and give the front tyres a far more consistent surface contact patch. In order to maximise the benefit of the performance from the double-wishbone set-up at the front, the multi-link rear suspension was also totally revised. Weight was saved in a number of areas including lightweight glass, new front wheels, new rear fascia, stainless exhaust and a carbon rear lid resulting in the new car weighing the same as the 991 GT3 even though it's physically larger. In 2017 the ‘Touring Package’ was introduced giving a new focus to the GT3’s capabilities. It's brief, to refine the magic of the Motorsport department and make this 911 more suited to the road. Still retaining the winged GT3’s explosive 500bhp engine, the Touring’s more subtle styling proved captivating. The most obvious difference is the omission of the standard car's distinctive swan-neck fixed rear wing replaced by an automatically extending rear spoiler which generates downforce at high speeds whilst maintaining the classic 'flatback' 911 profile. In the case of the 992 GT3 there are only a few aesthetic details that distinguish the Touring from its be-winged sibling including painted front bumper inserts, aluminium window trim (rather than black anodised) and more interior surfaces trimmed in perforated leather and brushed aluminium.Supplied new by Porsche Centre Swindon and first registered on 30th May 2022, this right-hand drive, 4-litre 992 GT3 Touring was ordered in Gentian Blue Metallic with an Exclusive Manufacture Mojave Beige interior.Obviously no expense was spared when it came to ticking the option list which includes; 7-speed PDK, Touring Package Exterior in Black, PPF, Exterior Mirror Upper Trims Carbon, Lightweight Roof Carbon, Exclusive Design Taillights, LED Matric Main Headlights, Lifting System Front Axle, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB), Exclusive Manufacture Mojave Beige Interior, Adaptive Sports Seats Plus 18 Way with Carbon back insert, Seat heating, Chrono Package, White Rev Dial, Steering Column Casing Leather, Bose Surround Sound System, Park Assist Rear including Reversing Camera and a Spare Key.It's been with its current owner for 18 months and has two former registered keepers. A time warp example, with just 11,846 miles from new and showing zero former keepers, this is a fabulous little rarity. The Dolomite Sprint was launched at the 1973 Earls Court Motor Show as the sporty variant of Triumph’s ever popular Dolomite. While the standard Dolomite and the Sprint shared the same platform, the upgrades were plentiful with the Sprint. Mechanically, it benefited from a overhead camshaft (SOHC) 2-litre engine now producing 127bhp, a near 30bhp uplift over the standard 1.8-litre Dolomite allowing 0-60mph in 8.5s! The handling was more performance orientated with independent front suspension and a tweaked live rear axle. Aesthetically, the Sprint had a sportier look with a more aggressive stance and the all-important ‘Sprint’ badging. In the seven year production run between 1973-1980, according to the records there were 22,941 Sprints produced, with a worryingly large number of those cars now being laid to rest in the great scrapyard in the sky due to chronic rust issues. To find an untouched example in lovely condition these days is a hard task, but that is exactly what is on offer here. The story behind this 1975 Dolomite Sprint is wonderful. It was bought new, enjoyed, then parked up in the owner's garage and left untouched for decades. The original owners were certainly perfectionists as the car still retains its original plastic interior door card covers.Since its discovery, it's been entrusted to marque expert, Ken Clarke Motorsport, for a full mechanical recommissioning with the emphasis on maintaining originality and that has undoubtedly been achieved. The car now runs and drives beautifully, whilst retaining all its original features, paintwork and chromework. It's accompanied by invoices, bills and paperwork that corroborate the remarkable indicated mileage of 11,846.The Dolly Sprint was rightfully lauded in period as it was an approachable and affordable way into a sporty small saloon. Rear-wheel drive, powerful revvy engine, competition pedigree and all in a 1970s saloon with not a Blue Oval badge in sight. They sold like 'hot cakes' and, in common with 'hot cakes', there aren't many left. The words ‘time warp’ and ‘barn find’ are thrown around a lot in today’s classic car market, however to find a car that is unequivocally a 'time warp barn find' yet functions exactly the way it should is very special. The words ‘find another’ couldn’t be more prominent with the Dolomite, and what a fabulous example this is.Specification Make: TRIUMPH Model: DOLOMITE SPRINT Year: 1974 Chassis Number: VA6143DL Registration Number: GDE 707N Transmission: Manual Engine Number: VA006056HE Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 11846 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Blue VinylClick here for more details and images
Offered without Reserve and from the Grand Tourers Collection with an odometer reading of 25,706 miles offering great value great value. The Grand Tourers Collection was curated by a now deceased gentleman, who amassed some 38 cars at one stage. Each car stands on its own merits, and represents an era of stylish roadsters and hand-built coupes. Offered without Reserve, the cars are worthy of serious attention.Series 2 E-Types were produced from 1969 to 1971 and can be identified by their open headlights (no longer with glass covers), a wrap-around rear bumper with the taillights now underneath and the front indicators were larger and similarly repositioned below the slightly heavier front bumpers. The cooling was much improved helped by the enlarged 'mouth' and the later cars featured twin electric fans and uprated brakes. The engine is easily identified visually by the change from smooth polished cam-covers to a ribbed appearance and for US-spec cars, twin Stromberg carburettors were used. The interior and dashboard were also redesigned, with flick switches being substituted by rocker switches to meet US-regulations.This charming left-hand drive Series 2 E-Type left the factory with arguably the best combination of a 4.2-litre engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox in April 1970. Destined for the United States, the history file shows registration documents for a Mr Mark Davies of Pearland, Texas. The car was repatriated to the UK on 1st November 2015 according to the accompanying V5C. Presented with a history file with the aforementioned Texan Title documents, maintenance and parts receipts and an advisory-free MOT valid until the 25th September 2025.Estimated keenly and offered without Reserve this car deserves serious consideration with an odometer reading of 25,706 miles.Specification Make: JAGUAR Model: E-TYPE Year: 1970 Chassis Number: P1R44015 Registration Number: EGU 848H Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 7R40031-9 Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 25705 Miles Make: LHD Interior Colour: RedClick here for more details and images
A stunning and incredibly rare 'Rouse Sport' Sierra Sapphire Cosworth R-304 with just 2,882 miles and two recorded keepers from new. Iconic Auctioneers are widely recognised for bringing the very best examples of all things Performance Ford to the market and this superb example epitomises that standard completely. The Ford Sierra Cosworth needs no introduction. The RS500 has long been seen to be the epitome of the range, but occasionally a car emerges that is so rare that maybe, just maybe, there may be a new challenger for the crown.Ford launched the Sierra Sapphire Cosworth in 1988 to such acclaim, a four-door equivalent of the renowned three-door with just a little more ability to satisfy the family when needed, but still delivering almost supercar performance. Given the undoubted success of all things Ford with an RS badge, the decision was made to produce a limited run of just 200 in conjunction with Andy Rouse, four-time Touring Car Champion, which would feature a number of slight design tweaks on the already successful formula. It was originally planned to build 100 of each in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive format and they would be offered at a premium of around £4,500 over the standard Cosworth model. Upgrades included a bespoke body kit/aero pack with a body-coloured 'C' pillar, a smaller Garrett T25 Turbo and remapped ECU providing a further 40bhp, plus slightly larger tyres and an upgraded interior including model-specific Rouse seats and door cards with optional mahogany accents. In truth, the timing of the launch, the additional cost for the upgrades and the already successful standard car meant that Ford were never destined to make the full 200 cars planned. Dealers understood that the majority of buyers wanted the four-wheel drive cars and consequently it appears that the total numbers of Rouse Sport Sapphires may have only been around 100, with the majority, 78, being the 304-R.With just 2,882 warranted miles, the car we present here is almost certainly the lowest mileage and most original example of the model in existence and stored sympathetically with its original wheels and tyres removed, it still retains that indefinable 'new car smell'. This astonishing car is accompanied by correspondence from Andy Rouse to all buyers explaining how every car was hand-built by his team, personally checked and road-tested by him and asking buyers 'to respect their name and use it in a responsible manner'. It's supplied with the complete owners book pack, three MOT Certificates, various other marketing leaflets and paperwork relating to various car shows etc.The car is currently being fully recommissioned prior to the sale by the respected Tremona Garage and will be refreshed and running well at our NEC Sale. #23, with less than 3,000 miles covered during its 34 years existence, is sure to be in demand amongst collectors of rare, low-mileage, high performance Classic Fords and the premium of £4,500 over the standard Sapphire Cosworth paid back in 1990 may well have proved a sensible investment.Specification Make: FORD Model: SIERRA SAPPHIRE COSWORTH ROUSE SPORT 304-R Year: 1990 Chassis Number: WF0FXXGBBFLM68299 Registration Number: H304 HPD Transmission: Manual Engine Number: LM68299 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 2881 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Black LeatherClick here for more details and images
Late production 2CV fully restored and attractively presented as a 'Michelin Pneus' Fourgonette. Offered without Reserve. The 2CV Van was launched in 1950 as the AU. In 1954 the engine was uprated from 375cc to 425cc and the model renamed AZU. It was to remain in production until 1972, with many detail changes over the years and was the last A-Series to keep 'old-style' mechanicals, with 425 engine and chassis-mounted pedal gear. In 1972 the AZU 250 saw the coachwork changed from 'small-ripple to large ripple' and the installation of the 435cc engine, first seen in the Dyane 4 in 1968 and the 2CV4 in 1970. With a few mechanical changes, it became the AZU 250 GA (Grandes Administrations) in 1975, and production ceased in 1978.On offer here is an interesting 2CV AZU 250 that is excitingly offered without Reserve. Looking like a 1950's support vehicle from the Tour de France, this Citroën was restored by Pete Abbot of Deux Chevaux in Lincs, one of the UK’s most respected 2CV specialists. The van features 1950s style genuine Citroën ripple bodywork and is not to be confused with fibreglass replicas. Sitting on a galvanised Citroën chassis, it's powered by a later 602cc unit fitted with 123 electronic ignition making it an eager starter and very economical. Disc brakes assist retardation when fully loaded and the van sits on nearly new Michelins. The easily removable large wooden roof rack can carry 8 x 4 sheets and this, combined with the large van rear, makes this a really effective load carrier (within reason!). It's very well presented in the iconic Gris Clair colour scheme with attractive 'Michelin Pneus' graphics. The 2CV is accompanied by a big box of spares containing belts, starter motor, indicator lenses, LHM fluid, gaiters etc. There is also a good history file with restoration photos, UK V5C etc. Excitingly offered without Reserve, this could make a great light commercial vehicle or just a genuinely fun item to use and enjoy.Specification Make: CITROËN Model: 2CV Year: 1978 Chassis Number: AKAP01AP9445 Registration Number: CFE 854S Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 0483083214 Drive Side: Left-hand DriveClick here for more details and images
UK-supplied, rare and collectible two-keeper 260Z with just 29,600 miles and sensibly estimated. As emission controls increasingly diluted the 240Z's performance, Nissan sought to restore some of that lost power by stroking the engine out to 2,565cc from 2,393cc, boosting output to 162bhp. It retained the classic good looks of its smaller engined predecessor and the model's appeal was broadened with the addition of automatic transmission and a 2+2 model based on a longer wheelbase platform with a higher roofline to increase cabin space. This exceptional example is finished in the rarely seen Wine Red Metallic (611) with a black cloth interior. It was supplied new by C. Ward Garages Ltd, the Datsun main dealer in Stevenage, on 24th August 1978 to its first of only two keepers, a Mr Donald Stewart of Palace Place Mansions, Kensington and pleasingly, the original Bill of Sale for £6,263 less a trade-in allowance for a Triumph TR7 remains in the car's history file. The file also contains the V5C, eight old MOT Certificates, an invoice for the first service by C. Ward with a matching stamp in the book, the original service book with four stamps, the last at 24,191 miles in October 1992, a copy of the original enquiry for a 260Z responded to by Datsun of Baker Street dated July 1978 and an original sales brochure with this car believed to be on the front coverThe second custodian acquired this special 'Z' car in 2015 and commenced a sympathetic recommissioning, returning the car to top form. The file contains numerous receipts for parts etc. including a bespoke stainless steel exhaust built by him to finish it off. This 260Z represents a rare opportunity to own one of these iconic Japanese sports cars in a rare colour with just 29,600 miles from new. One of only 295 right-hand drive UK-cars, this 20-valve RR is on offer from long term ownership after much recent expenditure. The Audi Quattro may not have been the first four-wheel drive production car (that honour belongs to the 1966 Jensen Interceptor FF), but its place in history is assured. Thanks in no small part to its enormous rallying success, the Quattro popularized all-wheel drive and is now regarded as one of the most influential and important sports cars of the 1980s. By the time the 20V (RR) arrived in 1990, the crude cable-operated 50:50 split differential had been replaced with a much more advanced Torsen (torque sensing) diff and the engine had been uprated with double overhead camshafts and a larger 2,226cc capacity, upping power to 217bhp.Supplied new by Audi Main Dealer Keith Garages of Aylesbury on 28th October 1991, this Crystal Silver Audi Quattro 20V (RR) has only had two previous owners and has been with our vendor for ten years. Purchased by him in 2014 after an exhausting search to find the best and most original in the market place, as he started to build a Collection of 1990s icons. The comprehensive history file contains multiple invoices from Audi specialists, the original sales invoice to the second owner in 1992 and many stamps in the original service book. In November 2021, it was subject to extensive mechanical work by SJH Motorsport Ltd to ensure it remained mechanically sound. The work included a full engine service including cambelt and pulley, water pump, alternator and power steering belts, new radiator core, rocker cover gasket, plugs, rotor arm, distributer cap, powder coat boost pipes, new manifold gaskets, water rail gaskets, fuel filter, clean injectors and flow test, powder coat fuel rail. Both front and rear subframes were removed and painted and old bushes replaced. The front wishbones were refurbished and new ball joints fitted. All roll-bars and links were fitted with new bushes and new Koni dampers were fitted. New wheel bearings were fitted and new top mounts. All new bumps stops and drive shaft gaiters were fitted and the springs were repainted. The rear diff mountings were renewed together with the rear wishbones and ball joints. All differentials fluids were drained and refilled. All the discs, pads and master cylinder were renewed, a new clutch fluid reservoir was fitted, the repainted sub-frames were Waxoyled, four-wheel alignment was checked and finally, all work was signed-off with a road test. The Audi Quattro 20V (RR) continues to be regarded as one of the most desirable modern classics and, with the vast expenditure lavished most recently on this cared-for example, it certainly warrants consideration. Every 'proper' car Collection should contain a US Military Jeep; highly collectible and this is a very good example of the more sought after Ford GPW derivative. Today, Jeep stands alone as a brand in its own right, however, for the first three decades of the marque’s life it was known, formally and informally, as Willys Jeep. That’s ironic, as Willys-Overland did not actually ‘invent’ the Jeep - that feat is attributed to engineer Karl Probst, working at the American Bantam Car Company in Butler, Pennsylvania. Created to respond to a World War II Quartermaster Corps RFP for a light 4x4 vehicle, Bantam’s entry met the specification requirements but was underpowered compared to the competitor from Willys, which turned out to be too heavy. Ford’s Pygmy was praised for its agility, but its tractor engine was also underpowered. In the final accounting, the Willys was judged best value. Bantam, moreover, lacked the capacity to produce the quantity that the Army needed, so Willys was contracted as the principal supplier in July 1941 (Bantam got a contract for utility trailers as a consolation prize). As the War outside the US continued, a second supplier with deep resources was called for, so Ford, runner-up in the RFP evaluation, joined the march to war in October 1941. Since standardisation was paramount in military logistics, the Ford Jeeps were all but identical to the Willys MB models. This meant using a clone of the 134 cubic inch L-head Willys four and interchangeable running gear. Production of the Ford GPW began in January 1942 and by war’s end, nearly 278,000 had been delivered, second to Willys’ 362,800, but not by much.Ford-manufactured Jeeps are recognisable by their pressed-steel grilles as opposed to the Willys' slat grille style. The Ford GPW Jeeps are, so say, more sought after than the Willys as the Ford GPW was only manufactured during WWII, so by default it must be an original wartime vehicle. Willys, however, continued with Jeep production after WWII so unfortunately there are many non-WWII vehicles masquerading as original wartime vehicles. The vehicle presented here is a 1943 Ford GPW 'Willys' Jeep (chassis #GPW-154249); despite their disposable nature, in is little known that the U.S. Army’s Ordnance Department created special facilities to rebuild Jeeps (and other vehicles). Facilities were located both in the U.S. and abroad. One of the companies contracted to do this reconditioning work was ‘Higgins Industries’, a company based in New Orleans which was primarily employed to build amphibious landing craft referred to as LCVP (landing craft, vehicles, personnel), which were used extensively in Allied forces’ D-Day Invasion of Normandy; these landing craft vessels are commonly referred to as a ‘Higgins Boat’.See image attached of Jeeps on a raised inspection station at the Higgins Michoud Plant, Louisiana in July 1942 being cleaned with steam and water; they were overhauled and reconstructed before being returned to the US Army. In total, the companies reconditioned a total of 16,176 Jeeps in the United States according to Charlie Weaver via Jim Allen’s book ‘Jeep’. There are examples of the data plates applied to the dashboards of jeeps by the various companies. This particular Jeep is one of 1,850 examples reconditioned by Higgins Industries – as illustrated by the plaque in its cockpit, dated November 1944 - which is fascinating, making it a real survivor.Always in the hands of enthusiasts, it was registered in UK on 1st October 1970 (as a historic vehicle). It was fully restored with help from ‘Dallas Auto’, the WW2 Jeep, MS01 and Dodge Specialists of Berkshire, with invoices totalling over £8,000. It comes adorned with ‘authentic’ bullet holes which definitely adds a sense of theatre. Described as being in ‘excellent working order’, this is as good as you’d want your Jeep. Now arguably more iconic than a Sherman Tank or P-51 Mustang, the Jeep is for many the definitive WWII vehicle and the perfect Goodwood Revival accessory. The subject of a superb, bare-metal, restoration a few years ago and in a private 'Blue Oval' Collection ever since. It seems likely that Ford already had plans to produce a high-performance Escort to fit in the range between the 1300GT and the Twin-Cam/RS1600, and their victory in Mexico provided an ideal platform to launch such a model. The engineers at the newly formed AVO (Advanced Vehicles Operations) quickly developed the Mexico, marrying the stronger Type 49 bodyshell (as used in the more expensive Twin-Cam and RS1600), which aided the car's sporty, rear-wheel drive character, with the reliable and responsive Kent crossflow engine and 2000E gearbox. So effectively the Mexico was a re-engined Twin-Cam/RS1600 and the model was built from 1970 to 1974 at the AVO plant. The Mexico was the most successful and numerous of the 'Rally Sport Escorts' and was an instant sales hit, with buyers loving its wide-wheeled stance, bold graphics and rally-inspired DNA. It had a number of advantages on the road, in that it had decent performance, was easy to maintain, relatively easy to insure and above all, it was great fun to drive with a sharp throttle response, precise controls and a raspy exhaust note all adding to the drama.Finished in Daytona Yellow, this outstanding Mk1 Escort Mexico has clearly been the subject of an intense, ground-up restoration from its original Type 49 bodyshell to the superb engine bay and onwards into the excellent interior. First registered on 23rd February 1973, it remains in its original colour combination and interestingly was in constant use until 2014 at which time the decision was taken that a timetable of rectification was required to remedy the ravages of time. This work was entrusted to the experienced hands of Tony Collins at Classic Car Restorations in Kent who, after a long and protracted period of time returned the bodywork to its former glory. Restoration of the classic Mexico interior was the responsibility of Kent Car Upholstery and as is obvious from our images, the results are impressive. The engine rebuild was completed by ‘Bailey & Liddle’ of Faversham utilising an A2 cam, steel rocker-posts, an HD oil pump, and unleaded valves, with the engine bay fully detailed as you would expect resulting in, what we suggest, is one of the finest Mk1 Mexicos available today.Completed some years ago, the Escort has formed part of a private 'Blue Oval' Collection since, with little use but constant and continual care as and when required. Interest in Performance Fords from the 1970s and 1980s shows no signs of abating and this remarkable Daytona Yellow Mexico would be an asset to any enthusiast of these era-defining, characterful, sporting Fords.Specification Make: FORD Model: ESCORT MEXICO Year: 1973 Chassis Number: BFATNJ00402 Registration Number: NEU 99L Transmission: Manual Engine Number: TBA Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 3889 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Black ClothClick here for more details and images
Offered from the Property of a Gentleman Collection, an original example with just one previous keeper from new, a superbly curated history file and just 37,254 miles. One of the finest examples we have seen, the term 'time warp' is rightly attributed when describing this car. Purchased new through Datsun Broadwater Limited on 1st August 1976 by its one and only keeper, a Mr M Willis of Burgess Hill, West Sussex, this wonderfully original, right-hand drive, UK supplied Datsun 260Z is offered to the market for the first time since new! Following the owner's purchase, the Datsun was driven back to Sussex where it was to reside. Dry stored in a small private Collection, the Datsun was enjoyed as intended until c.1990 where it was used less regularly and in 2022 the decision was made to recommission the 260Z ready for further road use.Undertaken by Datsun specialists, Fourways Engineering, Kent, the comprehensive recommissioning included renewal of the brakes, a major service, rebuild carburettors, remove and machine the cylinder head, replace inlet valves and valve guides, replace various bushes and bearings and prepare for an MOT, the final cost totalling £10,381.35. Since then, the Datsun has been treated to further maintenance by Fourways including a service in 2022 at a cost of £368, and further work in January 2024 costing £532.Offered in its original colour combination of silver paintwork over a black interior, the Datsun remains extremely original having covered a mere 37,231 miles from new. The paintwork is generally very good with a few minor blemishes and the interior and engine bay are in very good order. The underside is also in very good condition having received a full 'Zeibart’ from new, as the original sales invoice confirms. The history file that accompanies the car includes the original warranty and service booklet, the original owners manual, original Datsun 260Z sales brochures and the original sales invoice from Datsun Broadwater Limited. Also included is the original Datsun toolkit which appears to be unused. Additionally, the history file contains a sizeable MOT record and the most recent MOT certificate is valid until 10th October 2025. Interested parties should note that the registration document had previously been changed into the previous keeper’s partner’s name and back on two occasions which is documented on the HPI report, however we can confirm that this was a one owner example from the exhaustive paperwork and having been kept in the same garage from new. Hot and cool at the same time, this fabulous 1965 Notchback now runs a 387 'stroker, Tremec 5-speed, a nailed down rear end and presents superbly in Corris Grey Metallic. From its VIN number, we can establish that this handsome Mustang began life in 1965 at Ford's San Jose plant as a 'notchback' coupe powered by a 289ci, 2-valve, V8. It remained in the US for the first 35 of its life before arriving in the UK in 1998 and is now UK-registered with a current V5C.More recently it was becoming apparent that a schedule of works was required to return the Mustang back to top form and the decision was taken not to restore it in to original form but to modify it and upgrade it both cosmetically and mechanically. The bodywork was fully stripped and refinished in a very cool shade of Corris Dark Grey metallic enhanced with black Le Mans stripes and further lifted by a full de-chrome and colour-coded wheels. Internally a full retrim was undertaken and TMI Sports seats fitted not only to the front but the rear also, with steering duties taken care of by the Mustang-style wood-rimmed steering wheel.Clearly, with these aesthetic modifications, the mechanical aspects of the vehicle had to be addressed as well, with motivation now provided by a 347ci 'stroker' V8 delivering power through the Tremec high-torque, 5-speed manual transmission to the upgraded drive-train that now consists of a Currie Enterprises rear axle with Posi-Trac Gear Booster LSD, a Wilwood full disc brake conversion and adjustable coil-over shock absorbers. Other items worthy of note are an alloy race radiator, bespoke stainless steel dual exhaust system and colour-coded 17" American Racing wheels. With a fully detailed engine bay, impressive interior and period age-defining looks, all wrapped up in a desirable 'Restomod' package, this Mustang has certainly come of age and is ready to be enjoyed once again, be that out on the open road or standing with head held high on the show field.Accompanied by a comprehensive history file ( Specification sheet available upon request ) and full photographic record of the build, your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to fully appreciate the potential on offer.Specification Make: FORD Model: MUSTANG RESTOMOD Year: 1965 Chassis Number: SR07C191678 Registration Number: ABW 100C Transmission: Manual Engine Number: TBA Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 6503 Miles Make: LHD Interior Colour: Black HideClick here for more details and images
Collector quality with a lovely original patina and just 1,798 miles from new. The RS200 was born in the era of 'Group B' rallying, undeniably the most extreme period in rally history with all competing manufacturers turning every dial up to 11. The power was immense, the courses dangerous and no matter how high the level of a driver's skill, it was always outmatched by the sheer bravery required to pilot these machines at full chat. Whilst Ford’s competitors developed their rally cars from suitable models in their road car range, Lancia with their S4 Integrale, Audi with the S1 Quattro and Peugeot with their T16 205, Ford took a more extreme route, building a competitive rally car and then using it as the basis for a well-engineered, road-legal version, purely to tick the homologation boxes.Produced by Ford Motorsport in Boreham from 1984-1986, the plastic-fiberglass composite body was designed by Filippo Sapino of Ghia Design Studio and enclosed a mid-mounted engine, four-wheel drive and a front-mounted gearbox for ideal 50/50 weight distribution. The chassis was designed by Formula 1 designer, Tony Southgate, in conjunction with Formula 1 engineer, John Wheeler, so the car had real potential for greatness.Motivation was provided by an 1,803cc Ford-Cosworth BDT engine fitted with a Garett T03/04 turbocharger which produced 250bhp in standard road-going trim although, as production progressed, more power became available. At the time, 'Group B' regulations required manufacturers to assemble 200 road-going versions of their race-bred competition cars, however with the passing of time, it's become clear that Ford did not manage to sell 200, with Justin Smith, the Ford RS200 authority, believing as few as 147 were actually sold.Presented here is certainly one of the best examples of the Ford RS200 we have offered for sale and with an exceptionally low mileage of 1,798. It was sold new on 14th April 1989 by Charles King Motors, the Ford Main Dealer in Bedford, and apparently was the 100th car finished, bearing the chassis no. SFACXXBJ2CGL00100. It's supplied with Ford Motorsport decals and a leather interior which makes it a rare specification. There have been four owners prior to our vendor with all the timeline details in the history file and it's evident from the car's overall immaculate condition that they took their ownership seriously. Early in its life, it was returned to Tickford for a service and more recently, in December 2022 but only a few miles ago, it was treated to fresh fluids and new hoses by specialists, Viking Motorsport. It still sports its original Pirelli P6000 tyres and spare and comes complete with its original complete pristine toolkit and its Ford Boreham leather-bound manual. Collector quality with a lovely original patina and exceptionally low mileage, this impressive 'Group B' rally car, from the rallying colossus that was Ford in the 1980s, is almost certainly unrepeatable.Specification Make: FORD Model: RS200 Year: 1989 Chassis Number: SFACXXBJ2CGL00100 Registration Number: F500 BRP Transmission: MANUAL Engine Number: GL00100 Odometer Reading: 1798 Miles Make: Click here for more details and images
A very special TR6, one of the original Factory Press Department Road Test Cars. Sharp, clean and ruggedly handsome, the TR6 looked far more modern than TR roadsters of old and proved a huge hit with the sporting driver of the early 1970s. Restyled in 1969 by Karmann of Osnabruck, it gained a full width nose and a squared-off tail, however under its new 'party frock', the chassis remained basically the same as its independently-rear-suspended TR5 predecessor. Handling was improved courtesy of wider wheels and a front anti-roll bar and the 6 was a little more refined than its predecessors featuring pile carpets, plush looking bucket seats, a traditional wooden dashboard and a full complement of instrumentation. The 150bhp 2.5-litre Lucas fuel-injected straight-six power unit was initially unchanged but was detuned to 125bhp for the US-market and subsequently for the UK-market from 1973 onwards to meet stricter emissions regulations. Even in the later detuned specification, it could still hit 60mph in just 9.5 seconds with a top speed of 116mph. This is an original home-market, UK-supplied, right-hand drive car and according to its Heritage Certificate, was built on 29th January 1974, fitted with overdrive and finished in Mimosa with a black interior, a colour scheme that it proudly displays to this day. However, instead of being sold through the normal dealer network, RDU 998M was seconded by the factory Press and Publicity Department to be used as a Road Test car, offered on short term loan to prominent motoring journalists in the hope of attracting lots of favourable publicity. This was certainly the case and the car regularly appeared in magazine features and newspaper articles. Thoroughbred and Classic Cars magazine ran a feature on RDU in their January 1975 issue and pleasingly, there is a copy of this in the Owners File. Naturally, during the period when it was being presented to the press, it was washed, polished and maintained on a daily basis in order to create the most favourable impression. Our vendor has owned this car since 2019 and covered a mere 132 miles in that time. In his own words - 'I have proudly displayed it at local classic car shows as it still presents really well today with good shut lines, excellent paintwork, well cared for interior, a tidy engine bay,and a smart black hood. I have had the brake system overhauled including fitting a new brake servo and master cylinder. Prior to my ownership, this lovely TR was family-owned for 15 years. A regular at Owners Club events, RDU 998M is well known and well regarded within the Triumph community. The current indicated mileage is 42,629 and, as you might expect from an enthusiast owned car, it's accompanied by lots of unique history, period brochures, Press Pack, original documents, manuals, the Heritage Certificate, old tax discs, and previous MOT Certificates'. Sensibly estimated, this is a very special TR6, part of Triumph's history and would be very welcome at any gathering of Triumph enthusiasts. A fully restored example of the military-grade 'Lightweight' Land Rover, finished in a beautiful colour combination. Rover bosses, the Wilks brothers, saw the need for a tough, four-wheel drive utility vehicle to serve the needs of the agricultural community in the immediate post-war years. Given that its inspiration had been the wartime Jeep, it cannot have surprised Rover when their versatile vehicle also turned out to be of interest to the British Army, which began taking deliveries a year or two after the start of production in 1948. Supremely adaptable for military purposes, the Land Rover has fulfilled any number of differing military roles, from fighting vehicle to ambulance and been exported to countless countries worldwide. The smallest Land Rover on the market at the time was a Series IIA 88" which was too heavy for most military applications. In order to deal with this, a major modification to the basic Series IIA was devised, making many body components easily detachable and removing many non-essential items. The result was the Land Rover Half-Ton, known widely as the Lightweight or Air Portable. In practice, to reduce weight sufficiently for the helicopters of the day to lift them in combat conditions, the tilt and sticks, the upper parts of the body, the doors and windscreen were removed, all to be refitted later. The most significant change however was a reduction in width of 4", by redesigning the standard Series IIA axles and fitting shorter half-shafts, which meant it would fit on a standard pallet. Complete, the Lightweight IIA weighed 1,202kg, over the specified weight and heavier, in fact, than a 'standard' Land Rover. The term Lightweight was therefore confusing. However, with the removable body panels taken off it was below the limit. Since improvements to the helicopters meant more lift was available, the Ministry of Defence accepted it for use with production continuing until 1984.Purchased by our vendor in 2020, this example immediately underwent a full and meticulous restoration including a new galvanised chassis, a bikini soft top and a considerable amount of time and effort going in to ensure the body was as perfect as the rest of the car. Since completion, it has covered just 300 miles, the main enjoyment to our vendor being the rebuild and perfecting process. The history file includes two large files documenting the restoration process with photos and invoices along every step of the way, as well as some older MOTs.Ready and set for someone to enjoy in whatever format that may be, whether it’s going to shows or using it as intended, this Air Portable is ready for whatever that challenge could be.Specification Make: LAND ROVER Model: 88" LIGHTWEIGHT AIR PORTABLE Year: 1982 Chassis Number: SALLBBAH1AA172964 Registration Number: JUG 910Y Transmission: Manual Engine Number: TBC Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 11988 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images
An incredibly well restored Land Rover Series I, a multiple show-winning car, hard to imagine that a better one exists anywhere. As an engineering marvel, the Land Rover can still outstrip its modern counterparts and the Series I rightly belongs in the Motoring Hall of Fame. Hugely successful globally, improvements were made throughout its long lifespan. In 1950, the lights were moved from a position behind the grille to protrude through the mesh and in 1952 a larger 2-litre petrol engine replaced the original 1.6-litre. The wheelbase was extended to 86" in 1955 to give the vehicle more stability and greater load capacity and the stronger, more reliable 2-litre petrol engine was standard until 1957.Over the years, here at Iconic Auctioneers, in conjunction with Classic Car Auctions, we have been pleased to offer over 150 Land Rovers, including a good number of early vehicles, but it's a long time (if ever) since we have seen such an impressively restored example as the 1956 Series I on offer today.Acquired from friends, where it had been languishing on their farm for almost 40 years, our vendors set about creating, quite simply, the very best Series I that they could and since the completion of its meticulous restoration, it has won award after award, show upon show. The full list of work carried out is too long to detail here but, in addition to an engine rebuild at a cost of £6,670 by Cox and Turner, the Landy has been fully restored cosmetically, with a new tub seats, new tilt and canvas roof and sundries galore removed, restored, or if beyond repair then replaced with the very best options available. Our meticulous vendor has kept a list of the costs involved in the restoration and when we say a list, it is unlike anything we have ever seen before. Laid out on an Excel spreadsheet, it runs to 286 lines and totals £32,960.90 including dozens of entries for less than £10, every nut, bolt, grommet and bracket is listed and costed. Uniquely, there are 31 'credit' entries relating to surplus, replaced, items sold and totalling £1,236.52 so the real cost of the restoration was £34,197.42.We have to draw the conclusion that anyone so incredibly fastidious as to list and cost everything in detail would be equally fastidious about the quality of work during the car’s restoration. A glance at our images and ideally the car itself will confirm that this Series I is undoubtedly better today than when it left the factory almost 70 years ago. It's believed that our clients are only its second keepers, so this is put simply a ‘one former keeper’ car and we invite and encourage your close inspection of this remarkable Land Rover.Specification Make: LAND ROVER Model: SERIES 1 Year: 1956 Chassis Number: 170603168 Registration Number: MBL 974 Transmission: Manual Engine Number: S10782010 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 39699 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
Offered without Reserve from The Recreation Collection, this very pretty car has many period parts such as Borrani wire wheels and a £4,000 stainless steel exhaust system. The Recreation Collection was assembled by a gentleman, now deceased, who had a passion for cars, owning at one stage some 38 vehicles. A particular enthusiasm of his was for replicas of the rarest and therefore most expensive examples. Judging by the receipts on file and the high prices paid in period, he could’ve bought at least one real example for the price he paid for the others! These are special cars and worthy of serious consideration, offered, tantalisingly as they are, without Reserve. We understand that this fabulous right-hand drive tribute car was the dream of an Italian gentleman, a former Chairman of two Italian sports car clubs. Based on a UK-supplied 1997 BMW Z3 M Sport, itself a highly desirable car and one that is the identical size, wheel-to-wheel to the original, the recreation was a labour of love that offers the attention-gathering beauty and appeal of the original combined with the benefits of modern motoring technology and German engineering.Every item on the car, from the body panels to the seats, has either been bespoke manufactured or purchased from Ferrari or GTO Engineering. Original Ferrari parts include the indicator stalks, installed at a cost of €1,800, grille, window winders, door handles, badging, headlamps and rear view mirror. Even the ashtray is an original Ferrari item, bought from GTO Engineering for £400. To acquire one correct Nardi steering wheel as sported by the orignal, the owner actually had to buy four of them. The car runs on the original size Pirelli tyres, wrapped around an €8,000 set of Borrani wheels. The £4,000 stainless steel exhaust features a resonator box and sounds not dissimilar to a V12 on carburettors. To create the bumpers, the previous owner had a mould made and the bumpers were then cast in stainless steel, at a cost of £3,000. The engine is a 325bhp BMW M3 E36 unit. Beneath the period radio sits a speaker with a difference. Entirely in keeping with the original styling, this was made specially in Germany by Becker. It pulls down to reveal the air conditioning controls hidden behind. The original BMW Z3M sustained repairable damage on the 25th May 2000 and was subject to an insurance Category D marker. Given the car’s new lease of life in 2017, it was subsequently registered at the time as a Black California Spyder, we welcome close inspection of this special vehicle.Presented to auction with its V5C, historic bills, brochure and previous MOT Certificates, the most recent of which is valid until 24th September 2025.Specification Make: BMW Model: Z3 ROADSTER Year: 1997 Chassis Number: WBSCK91050LD20287 Registration Number: BPR 726A Transmission: Manual Engine Number: TBA Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 1462 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images
Offered to market from its first and only keeper, having covered a mere 2,200 miles from new, this 4/4 is surely the best one of its kind. The Morgan 4/4 was first introduced in 1936 and remained in production for 83 years until 2019, making it one of the longest running production models in automotive history earning both the model and the manufacturer a spot in the Guinness Book of Records. The 4/4 maintained Morgan’s ethos by being traditional, lightweight and dynamic with a box-section ladder-frame chassis mated to a traditional body construction with an aluminium skin over an ash wood frame. In 1993 the 4/4 was offered with Ford’s 1800 Zetec engine which was faster, cleaner and more frugal than its predecessors. With a kerb weight of just 868kg, a revvy DOHC engine and rear-wheel drive, this British built sports car was everything Morgan wanted it to be.Finished in Indigo Blue over Stone leather, this delightful 4/4 presents in exceptional condition, commensurate with its warranted ultra-low mileage of just 2,200 miles from new. Additionally, it is a one-owner vehicle, still showcasing the factory chalk marks on the hood. The vendor had to wait nearly ten years after submitting the initial order form to receive the car due to high demand and the hand-built nature of Morgan. It comes with the original order form from Mike Duncan Morgan agents, confirming that P522 NOE was specifically ordered in Indigo Blue with Stone trim, complemented by blue piping, blue carpets and stone piping, and a Walnut dashboard. Included with the vehicle are various documents, such as old MOT paperwork, the original order form, the handbook, sales brochure, and the current V5C Registration Document. The vendor personally collected the car from the factory and is now offering it for sale having cherished and evidently adoring the car for 27 years, but due to the impracticalities of a small, low sports cars the car is no longer able to be driven comfortably, so the time to move it on has arrived. With a lovely specification that complements the car well, this 4/4 represents serious value with every collectible box ticked.Specification Make: MORGAN Model: 4/4 Year: 1997 Chassis Number: SA94418004DO9834 Registration Number: P522 NOE Transmission: Manual Engine Number: H6033 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 2500 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: TanClick here for more details and images
A smart example, recently serviced and rarely seen in double Nero, offered without Reserve with less than 35,000 miles. The Ferrari 575M Maranello (Type F133) is a two-seat, two-door Grand Tourer launched by Ferrari in 2002 and was essentially an updated 550 Maranello featuring minor styling changes from Pininfarina. Further developments included a redesigned interior and substantial mechanical improvements, including bigger brake discs, a larger and more powerful engine, improved weight distribution, refined aerodynamics and fluid-dynamics along with an adaptive suspension set-up (the four independent suspensions are also controlled by the gearbox, to minimise pitch). Two 6-speed transmissions were available, a conventional manual gearbox and for the first time on a Ferrari V12, Magneti Marelli's 'F1' automated manual gearbox. The 575 model number refers to total engine displacement (5.75-litre), whilst the 'M' is an abbreviation of modificata as featured on the later cars, meaning 'modified' in Italian. This super example was supplied by Maranello Sales Ltd of Egham to a Mr Hynes on 10th October 2004, the first of four former keepers. Finished in Nero Daytona Metallic with black Daytona interior with Bordeaux stitching and matching carpets. Presented to auction with the classic Ferrari tan leather tool roll and wallet containing hand books and a well stamped service book. The history file contains numerous receipts, historic MOTs, with a fresh certificate issued for the auction. The clean lines of the 575 are complemented by its luxurious interior, classic dashboard and modern mechanicals. Offered without Reserve, this fabulous example is worthy of serious attention with just some 30,000 miles recorded.Specification Make: FERRARI Model: 575M MARANELLO Year: 2005 Chassis Number: ZFFBT55C000133888 Registration Number: RX04 NFN Transmission: Automatic Engine Number: 77426 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 35000 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Nero LeatherClick here for more details and images
One of the defining hot hatches of the 1990s, this remarkably original, first generation Clio Williams has covered just 9,331 miles from new. It’s the early 1990s and the 1.8-litre Clio 16v is locked in combat for hot hatch glory with the ageing Peugeot 205 GTi 1.9. It’s a better car by many objective criteria, but not a convincingly faster one and in the eyes of many, the GTi still holds the crown. It took a truly special car to convincingly wrestle supremacy away from Peugeot, to really bury the old-timer and to refine the class in the process. That car was the Clio Williams.Sold with the compelling marketing strategy of an F1 team association, the Williams was actually an 'homologation special' in the familiar mould. It was built because RenaultSport wanted to go rallying and the class maximum displacement stood at 2-litres. Given this was still the era of homologation into 'Classes' A and 'N', Renault simply had to build 2,500 road cars to qualify, although it would eventually build many more. The initial production run of the Clio Williams was limited to just 5,400 examples, of which only 390 arrived in the UK.The suspension used a reinforced front subframe borrowed from the Clio Cup racer plus uprated springs, dampers, rear torsion arms and thicker anti-roll bars. The track was increased by 34mm and the 7J Speedline alloys were 0.5" wider than the 16v’s and distinctively gold. The gearbox was stronger too, with revised ratios. There was just one exterior colour offered for the first generation of Williams – '449' Metallic Sports Blue – and the cumulative effect of body (already blistered of arch, front, and rear and bulging of bonnet from the 16v), paint and those golden wheels was as close to hot hatch perfection as many felt it was possible to get.Codenamed 'F7R' and developed from the 16v’s 137bhp F7P unit, the new engine featured a longer stroke and bigger bore size and benefitted from a stronger crankshaft plus new pistons, camshafts and conrods with bigger valves and a lightweight exhaust manifold. Output was now 148bhp at 6,100rpm and 126lb/ft at 4,500rpm, not enormous by today's standards but 85% of the torque was available from 2,500rpm and the car only weighed 981kg. The factory specification included central locking, electric windows, and blue-faced instrument dials with three co-ordinating blue auxiliary read-outs atop the centre console displaying the oil level, temperature and pressure – all very purposeful.#0181 is one of the finest Clio Williams to come to the market for a very long time with just 9,331 miles from new and with the original owner for nearly 25 years. Ordered new by him from Arlington Renault of Yeovil in August 1993, it arrived from the factory and was registered in February 1994. Testament to his caring ownership, the Clio is accompanied by the most comprehensive of history files which includes the original sales receipt, a promotional leaflet with a handwritten deposit receipt on it, tax discs and three MOTs over its limited use between dry storage. The inventory includes all driver manuals, two sets of keys and the obligatory Gemini Alarm fobs required in the day to get it insured. The owner also purchased two Williams Renault promotional jackets (M), an F1 RenaultSport World Championship cap and key fob.New tyres were fitted prior to the last MOT test, however the original equipment factory tyres are available should the new owner feel that's important. #0181 still presents as showroom fresh and must be the most original example of the ultimate performance hatchback, a rare opportunity.Specification Make: RENAULT Model: WILLIAMS CLIO Year: 1994 Chassis Number: VF1C57M0510863307 Registration Number: L471 NYD Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 00C5139 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 9331 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: BlueClick here for more details and images
