1989 Yamaha XTZ 750 Super TenereReg. no. F198 THYFrame no. 3LD004750Engine no. 3LD004750Late to the Paris Dakar replica party, Yamaha arrived with what would turn out to be one of the best bikes in the group. It was built around the all new five valve parallel twin that proved to be a flexible, punchy unit that certainly gave the Honda Africa Twin a run for its money. After spending its first 12 years overseas, this example was imported into the UK in 2002 from where its extensive history file starts. The bike has recently been subject to a general overhaul starting at the rear end with the brakes, tyres, wheels etc. and moving forward, the engine has been checked and the carbs cleaned. At the front end the callipers were stripped ready to be rebuilt but unfortunately the project was put on hold and not finished.  This bike appears to have been very well looked after, the paintwork and panels are in excellent condition and the owner believes that apart from a new battery, some brake caliper parts, putting the panel work and other pieces that are all present back on, there is little to do to bring this bike back to its former glory.Comes with – a current V5C, the original owner’s manual, MOT records from 2002 to 2018, some old tax discs, various receipts and the service information sheets.

1999 BMW 840Ci Sport Individual to Alpina Specification Transmission: automaticMileage:117261When the Klaus Kapitza designed 8 Series was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1989, it felt like a glimpse into the future with its angular styling. The 8 Series was offered in 840 and 850 form and, when introduced in mid-1993, it was fitted with a four litre, V8 engine mated to either a five-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. Producing a very healthy 282bhp, this version could achieve the 0-62mph sprint in an impressive 6.9 seconds; importantly with the naturally aspirated V8, acceleration was effortless and refined. From mid-1995, production phased in the newer 4.4 litre M62B44 engine, which had better fuel economy and more torque, though power output remained unchanged.Offered here is a superb looking 840ci Sport that has been fitted with various Alpina upgrades and is presented in very rare Violet Blue coachwork. Fitted with a Parrot phone system and a sports exhaust, the vendor reports that this BMW runs and drives very well indeed and sounds fantastic when on song. The coachwork and interior both present well showing little sign of age and the wheels are well with no major scuffs or blemishes. Accompanying this BMW is a history file which includes various old MoT test certificates, the original BMW service book with continuous stamps, sundry invoices and the current UK V5C registration document.BMW 8 Series are certainly becoming a more appreciated modern classic and this example with its desirable BMW ‘Individual’ interior will be quite sought after. What better way to enjoy driving than in this elegant looking pillarless coupé.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1964 Mercedes-Benz 220SE Convertible Transmission: manualMileage:12754The Mercedes-Benz W111 was produced from 1959 to 1968 and was the chassis code given to its top-range vehicles, with two-door coupés and cabriolets being produced from 1961 to 1971. Design of a replacement for the two-door Pontons began in 1957 as most of the chassis and drivetrain were to be unified with the saloon with the emphasis on the exterior styling. Production began in late 1960 and in February of the next year the coupé was premiered in Stuttgart for the 75th anniversary of the opening of Mercedes-Benz Museum. The convertible followed at the Frankfurt Motor Show a few months later; the car was almost identical to the coupé with the soft-top roof folded into a recess behind the rear seat and covered by a tightly fitting bag. Unlike the previous generation of two-door ponton series, there was only one model for the two-door vehicle, the 220SE on both versions, with the identical 2195cc engine. This excellent example was registered in April 1964. Described as being in good mechanical order, this Mercedes has recently passed an MoT test in spite of being exempt by virtue of its age. This 220SE cabriolet is finished in blue black metallic and has been retrimmed in dark blue. Presented to auction with a V5C registration document and the previously mentioned MoT test certificate valid until August 2022. 1960s Mercedes convertibles are becoming increasingly sought after by people all over the world making them a very sound investment for the future and excellent examples such as this car will always attract the highest of prices. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1984 Mercedes-Benz 230 E Transmission: manualMileage:66309The W123 Series surpassed the W114 model range as the most successful Mercedes-Benz ever selling 2.7 million units before production ended in the autumn of 1985 for the saloon versions. Electronic fuel injected engines were introduced in 1980 making the cars faster and more reliable with all cars fitted with power steering from 1982. The build quality at the time set new standards in its class and the W123 compounding the reputation of Mercedes-Benz for engineering advancement and design. With only 66,309 miles on the clock, this Mercedes-Benz 230 E is only just run in! This Mercedes was purchased new by the owner in April 1984 and has been owned by him ever since. The car was serviced by Mercedes-Benz main dealers until 2017 and since then by local specialist, the history is comprehensive and is complemented by the owner’s manual, tool roll and complete set of keys. The bodywork is generally in good order but would benefit from a good detail which is unsurprising as the car has, when not being driven, always been parked in a private garage, the blue cloth seats and complimentary trim is also in very good condition. This 230 E is supplied with a V5C registration document, a new MoT test certificate and is for sale without reserve.Guide Price £7,000 - £10,000 Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1969 Wolseley 1300 Mk. II Transmission: manualMileage:47134Alec Issigonis will be best remembered for the Mini and the Morris Minor, but arguably one of his greatest successes was ADO16, the BMC/British Leyland family saloon of the 1960s and 1970s, with its incredibly spacious interior within compact overall dimensions, its superb fluid cushion ride and its mix of models from bargain Austin and Morris through sophisticated Wolseley, gentlemanly Riley, sporting MG and 1300GT, and toff’s Vanden Plas Princess. This 1300 Mk. II is an example of what is considered the best of the Wolseley ADO16 with more luxurious trim, twin carbs, wood dash and a distinctive strip speedometer. Presented with a Sand bodywork and complementary trim, this 50 year old car boasts its original chrome and paint in good order due to the fact it has been garaged and used sparingly its entire life, indeed a hark back to times when the family car was the most treasured of assets. The interior includes Britax Auto-Lok (inertia reel) seat belts and is stunning and even the driver’s seat barely looks used. The veneered wood dash still has its, as-new, gloss and the distinctive strip speedometer, so much a feature of the ADO16 and looks like new. The twin-carb 1300 engine produced a healthy 65bhp, only 5bhp below the highest output engine fitted to an ADO16 when new. The engine has recently been removed, the engine bay restored, new clutch and all oil seals and rubber mounts replaced, so this is still a lively little car that will easily keep pace with modern traffic. Its first owner clocked up 18,000 miles in 16 years before selling it to Mr and Mrs Leo Hill who have kept it in the family ever since. Used by their daughter for some years, it reverted to their care and for decades attended shows with the Wolseley Register of which its owners were keen members. The vehicle has completed multiple times the London to Brighton classic runs and been the winner of the Wolseley National Show, it was a well-travelled car at the local and national shows over its lifetime. We are informed that recently new rear brake cylinders, master cylinder seals, rear brake pipes and flexible hoses, fuel lines, air filter, engine oil and filter and battery were all fitted. The car has an MoT test certificate which is valid until October 2022 and has no advisories.Guide Price £6,000 - £9,000Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

2007 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Transmission: manualMileage:78364The Porsche 911 shape and engineering methodology has not changed much since the very first model, the 1939 Series 64. It has proved reliable and, with the finest designers available, has grown in reputation according to developing trends around it. It has proved itself in motorsport just as it has on the French Riviera. In recent years, Porsche breathed life into a new generation of 911, the 996. 2004 saw the launch of the 997 with improved styling, larger 18” wheels and an increase in power. The 997 C4S was, and still is, widely regarded as the greatest non-turbo version of the 911 with the four-wheel drive system providing the grip that ensured stable handling and predictable cornering. The Carrera offered today is presented with the best possible specification, it benefits from four-wheel drive and is an ‘S’ model with larger 19” wheels, a 3.8 litre engine and a six-speed manual gearbox. Additionally, sports suspension and a sports exhaust are included as standard. Offered with two sets of keys and recently serviced. The extensive options list includes Bose upgraded stereo, satellite navigation and telephone preparation, extended leather including wingback/hardback seats with full heated electric memory functionality, a Sports Chrono Plus package as well as a full black leather interior and Alcantara roof lining. The service history is, importantly, comprehensive with stamps from both main agents and specialists which include the important borescope checks, condensers, heat shields and RMS/IMS maintenance. The terrific performance on offer combined with reliability and build quality narrow down the choice of sports cars on offer to the Porsche 997 and this represents a superb example.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Lot 223

1992 Lancia Hyena Zagato Transmission: manualMileage:23000The Hyena was built on the Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evo 1 and was designed to be a limited-run production coupe paying tribute to the Delta and its phenomenal competition success. In the early 1990’s, Holland based Lusso Service, inspired by the peak of Zagato’s collaboration with Lancia in the 1960’s, decided to create something that would rekindle that collaboration. The brief was to design a two-door coupé incorporating Zagato’s ‘double-bubble’ roof and was completed by Marco Pedracini of the Zagato Style Centre and unveiled at the 1992 Brussels motor show.Initially there were plans to build around 500 examples, but this was quickly adjusted to 75, with only 25 Hyena’s completed due to unexpectedly high production costs. The manufacturing was incredibly expensive, 25 Delta’s were purchased and shipped to Holland where the body and interiors were removed. Next, the cars were sent to Zagato in Milan, Italy to be fitted with new aluminium coupé bodies before returning to Holland where Lusso Service completed the assembly. This manufacturing process led to a price of over $75,000!The Hyena weighed 1,150kgs, 15% lighter than the production Delta Integrale, whilst retaining it’s 1,995 cc engine, five-speed manual transmission and four-wheel drive system, resulting in a rapid 0-60 mph time of 5.4 seconds! This Hyena was manufactured in 1992 but due to the high price tag and lack of demand when new, remained stored until 2001 unregistered. When collector interest began to grow it was imported by Walkers to the UK with the odometer showing just 102 kilometres. Still awaiting its first owner the car was offered to our vendor who was taken by the Zagato styling and limited production thus purchased this example and has owned ever since as the first private owner. In our vendors tenure the car has been dry stored and used sparingly with only 34,000 now shown - circa 23,000 miles from new. In Hyena circles this example is indeed a well-known car, featured in Auto Italia magazine as the cover car in Viva Lancia, this car attended the Lancia centenary celebrations in Turin and was entered into the concourse event eventually being awarded one of the best in show with 10 invited onto the podium. Presented in red coachwork with black trim this completely original example has been cared for by leading specialists Auto Integrale in Berkshire, and thus is offered with a detailed service history. An incredibly rare, capable and very collectable motorcar which coupled two of the most iconic names in 90’s motoring, Integrale and Zagato, twinning style with performance in a package that is rarely seen on the road now that these rare cars are being snapped up by collectors worldwide due to their appreciating values.      Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 116

1927 AC 6 Aceca Coupé Transmission: manualMileage:77500Although AC’s reputation was established by John Weller’s famous overhead-camshaft six fitted to this example, its early offerings relied on proprietary four-cylinder engines. The AC chassis featured quarter-elliptic springing front and rear, a three-speed gearbox in unit with the rear axle and worm final drive. Front wheel brakes were optional at first, standard issue from 1927. Rated at 12hp for taxation purposes the four-cylinder AC remained in production until 1926, the firm relying exclusively on the Weller 15.7hp six thereafter. This lovely highly original example has been in the same family ownership for over 60 years and is presented in beige/black with brown leather interior, which is pleasantly patinated. In running condition, this wonderful coupé can boast the fact that all its controls and gauges are functioning including the clock, which is rare with cars of this age. Its six cylinder engine is mated to a three speed gearbox integral with the rear axle. The brake system is rod operated with fitted front brakes as an option. It has rear chassis and wing steps which provide the access to the ‘dicky’ seat to the rear, it has wind down side windows, ‘pull over’ hood with easy peg fixings on windscreen top rail (the hood could do with some attention). The car has been re-wired with armour cable incorporating a master battery isolation switch, and its rear mounted fuel tank with gauge, connects to a fuel line filter which in turn connects to a scuttle mounted Autovac. It also comes with an original ‘hints for owners’ handbook in well used condition although the present owner has compiled some technical manuals for ‘power train’, ‘body and chassis’ and ‘general’ which are so useful. A fun classic in original condition.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 136

1965 Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint Coupé Transmission: manualMileage:68562Introduced in 1962, Alfa Romeo's 106 Series 2600 range was a direct replacement for the preceding 102 Series 2000 cars. The latter's chassis design and body styles were retained, with minor revisions and improvements, but in place of the old, long-stroke, 2.0 litre, four-cylinder engine was a new, 2584cc, twin-cam six clearly descended from the immensely successful Giulietta. A maximum output of 145bhp was claimed for this unit when installed in the Sprint Coupé and Spider, good enough for a top speed of around 200kmh, and Cars Illustrated magazine reckoned this magnificent power unit ‘one of the smoothest, quietest running sixes, irrespective of the speed at which it is running’. Carrozzerias Touring and Bertone were responsible for the 2600 Spider and Sprint Coupé respectively; both of which looked like their 2000 predecessors. First registered on 18th October 1965, this late model 2600 Sprint presents very well in metallic blue. Having benefitted from a photo documented, ground up restoration some years ago, in 2018, the car enjoyed significant expenditure on its mechanics, including a full engine rebuild, an upgrade to triple Weber carburettors, along with a new clutch and radiator. Whilst at Tipton Garage in Devon - who carried out most of the service work in recent years including the engine rebuild - a new set of Michelin X tyres were also fitted to the car. Out of the 6,999 2600 Sprints Alfa Romeo produced, only 596 of them were supplied in right hand drive making this car a rare example. The vendor reports the car to run and drive very well and his love for it can be seen in the history file where, apart from the many receipts for work carried out, photos, brochures etc, the vendor also kept a diary of his usage with notes about the car which he is only selling now due to his age and becoming unable to use it as much.Supplied with its V5C registration document, original brochure, usage diary, impressive history file and photos of the car during its ground up restoration and at shows. Handsome and elegant, these cars were Alfa Romeo’s flagship models in the early 1960’s and still ooze sophistication today.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 115

2009 Secma F16 Transmission: manualMileage:5853The Secma F16 is a 1598cc rear engine micro sports car which offers exciting driving on the road or on a track. It was unveiled in 2008 at the Paris Motor Show and is powered by a 1.6 four-cylinder Renault engine that propels it to 60 mph in a mere 5.9 seconds. This little ‘pocket rocket’ is rear-wheel drive and features a five-speed manual transmission which is also sourced from Renault. With its open top (with a hood) it provides the occupants with great open motoring and with its weight distribution being 60/40, it feels more like a Porsche on the road. With its design resembling more like a beech buggy, which it couldn’t be further away from; its unique looks and lively engine make this a wonderful fun run-around.This example is presented in red with black interior and is powered by the aforementioned power plant from Renault. With only a few miles on the clock and limited use, this offers great value sports car driving at a fraction of the price of its more expensive rivals.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 164

1995 Ferrari F355 Spider Transmission: manualMileage:41897Manufactured from May 1994 to 1999, the Ferrari F355 was an evolution of the Ferrari 348. It is a mid-engined, rear wheel drive, V8 powered two seat coupé. At launch, two models were available; the coupé Berlinetta and the Targa topped GTS. The Spider (convertible) version was introduced in 1995. One major difference between the longitudinal V8 in the 348 and that in the 355, apart from the displacement increase from 3.4 to 3.5 litres, is that the F355 features a five valve per cylinder head that is considerably more powerful, producing 375bhp. The nomenclature does not follow the formula from the previous decades, i.e. engine capacity plus cylinder number for example, the Ferrari 308 name comes from three litres plus eight cylinders, with the same for the 328, 348, 512 etc. This time, Ferrari used engine capacity plus number of valves per cylinder; proud to boast about this technological advancement, with the name 355 coming from 3.5 litres engine capacity and five valves per cylinder. The F355 has become the most popular model so far with over 11,273 cars produced. This lovely low mileage example presents very well and is finished in the rare coachwork of Swaters Blue complemented by its tan leather interior. The discerning will no doubt note that this has the desirable manual gearbox powered by the 3496cc V8 engine fitted with the Bosch Motronic fuel injection. Reassuringly at 40,073 miles, a cambelt service was carried out. This example is in very good order throughout having been imported from Newport, California at the beginning of 2018 by the current vendor. UK lights have been fitted to conform with UK regulations and the history file includes an original toolkit, service book with many Ferrari main dealer service stamps, and UK V5C registration document. This is a lovely looking Ferrari that will no doubt give a lucky new owner great pleasure and pride of ownership.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1969 Marcos 1600GT Transmission: manualMileage:89131In 1966 the Marcos GT changed from using the expensive Volvo 1800cc unit to more affordable Ford 1500cc and 1600cc ones. The glass fibre bodied Marcos 1800 GT had been a sensation when first shown at the 1964 Racing Car Show. This was to be the design that would become familiar to sports car enthusiasts for more than 30 years, even though the original plywood chassis would later be replaced by a steel chassis and the futuristic scalloped dashboard also vanished after a few years. The plywood chassis was glued together from 386 separate pieces and was not only light and strong, but also required a minimum up front investment to construct. The extremely low Marcos required a nearly supine driving position and fixed seats, mounted lower than the floor of the car. In return, the entire pedal set could be moved fore and aft with a knob on the dashboard.Without a doubt, simply the best 1600GT we have ever seen. The supplied Marcos heritage records and correspondence in the impressive history file shows this beautiful Marcos was first supplied to Franco Paulo Pizzalon Esq. of Mountsorrel, Leicester on Monday 30th December 1968 having been ordered just a couple of months earlier on 5th November 1968. Ordered new in the same colours it still sports of Porsche Orange with black trim, the car was lovingly restored after the vendor acquired the car in 2013. Painted to a high standard, it looks as if the car has been painted much more recently. The interior was also completely retrimmed by Auto Lounge in Buckinghamshire and the car sits on a set of very rare period magnesium Minilites.First registered on 6th January 1969, the car was clearly loved and used a lot. The file shows a record of various maintenance work carried out throughout its early life. At some point between 1972 and 1975 the Ford crossflow unit was swapped for a Lotus Twin cam engine. Indeed, the original advert and the engine’s specification are included in the history file. It shows that the twin cam was built to a high specification with a ported and polished Mk. 2 head, steel main caps, competition bearings, Tufrided crank and flywheel, Powermax pistons and more. A unique period modification which makes perfect sense to the ethos of the Marcos brand. The car truly does present incredibly well and is reported to run and drive just as well. The car is supplied with its UK V5C registration document showing only 3 former keepers -the first two being Mr. Pizzalon and his son and the third, a friend of theirs. The vendor bought the car in 2013 and started the full restoration from there.  The accompanying history file includes the original sales brochure, period Motor Week article, Ford tuning guide, old MoT test certificates and many receipts. A unique example of what must be the best in class of one of the true giant slayers of British 1960’s automotive ingenuity.  Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Lot 234

1989 Porsche 928 GT Transmission: manualMileage:141944Critics immediately recognised the advances inherent in the 928 over the 911 and it was universally praised as one of the greatest GT cars of all time. It handled, it was quick, it looked fantastic, and it was comfortable. With the 928, Porsche created a serious long-distance grand-touring car that could also tackle twisting B roads with ease thanks to super direct steering, fifty-fifty weight distribution and a clever Weissach rear axle that kept the car firmly planted. Many road testers found that their nerve ran out long before the 928’s grip. Porsche continuously developed the 928 throughout its production life, culminating with the launch of the S4 in 1987 which differed slightly from the earlier cars with its smoothed-off front and rear bumpers, larger rear spoiler, more interior equipment, and a five-litre version of the V8 engine developing 316bhp. 1989 saw further development with the launch of the GT model, featuring a more powerful five-litre engine creating 326bhp, but more importantly, the introduction of a five-speed manual gearbox for those who wanted a sportier driving experience. This well-presented example is offered in beautiful Guards Red coachwork and has been maintained to a high standard throughout its life. The vendor reports that the five-litre, 316bhp, engine sounds fantastic when on song while the manual gearbox performs well. Offered with a sizeable history file detailing many old MoT test certificates, sundry invoices, maintenance bills and the current UK V5 registration document. This lovely, rare right hand drive Porsche 928 GT is fitted with the desirable five-speed ‘dog-leg’ manual gearbox and is offered in very good order throughout. It is believed that only 38 right hand drive, manual 928 GTs were supplied to the UK market making this one of the rarest Porsches that any collector or enthusiast could own.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 2012 Land Rover Defender 110 XS TD Transmission: manualMileage:1755The Land Rover Defender was launched in 1948 and, incredibly, production only finished in January 2016 after a continuous run of 67 years. Outwardly, there is little to distinguish the post-1983 vehicles from the Series III Land Rover. A full length bonnet, revised grille, plus the fitting of wheel arch extensions to cover wider track axles are the most noticeable changes. Internally, coil springs offered a more comfortable ride and a permanent four-wheel drive system derived from the Range Rover featuring a two speed transfer gearbox with a lockable centre differential. A modernised interior and a new series of progressively more powerful and modern engine characterised things under the skin.Supplied new by Stratstone Land Rover, Mayfair, this one owner from new example was registered new on 15th December 2012 and has covered a mere 1,755 miles. The Indus silver metallic paintwork and leather interior are both in superb condition as you would expect for a car of this mileage. Fitted with various factory options including alloy wheels, seven forward facing seats, checker plating on both front wings and lamp guards. The XS specification also includes heated front seats, air-conditioning, electric front windows, and heated front and rear screens. An Alpine head unit has also been installed with satellite navigation and an Apple Lightning port and Bluetooth connectivity fitted. In excellent condition throughout the Defender is offered with its original owner’s manuals, service book, Clarion remote control and two keys with fobs. The most recent MoT test was on 28th January 2021 at 1,501 miles, which was a first-time pass with no advisories or defects and its most recent scheduled service was in July 2017 at 1,271 miles, where technicians at Stratstone Land Rover Tottenham Service Centre changed the engine oil, filters, brake fluid, transfer case fluid and the front and rear differential oils. This is surely the lowest mileage Defender available today and is an excellent opportunity to acquire what must be the best example on the market.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Lot 199

1934 MG PA Transmission: manualMileage:893The MG P-Type was manufactured from 1934 to 1936. This two-door sports car used an updated version of the overhead camshaft, crossflow engine used in the 1928 Morris Minor and Wolseley 10 and previously fitted in the J-Type Midget of 1932 to 1934. The chassis was a strengthened and slightly longer version of that used in the J-Type with suspension by half-elliptic springs all round as well as rigid front and rear axles. The most significant improvement, however, was that the crankshaft main bearings were increased from two to three. The top-end was a carry-over with a cross-flow cylinder head and a single overhead camshaft. Most cars were open two-seaters although some streamlined ‘Airline Coupé' bodies were also made. The P-Type was also available as a four-seater, a car that, unfortunately, suffered from a lack of power and poor rear ground clearance. Around 2,000 MG PA’s were produced and in 1935 a new PA open seat tourer cost £222.Manufactured in 1934, this MG PA presents in good order throughout, the car started immediately when requested and the engine ran very smoothly with no adverse rattles or noises. The knowledgeable vendor has fettled this car well to ensure the car is ready to be used and enjoyed by any new owner. These stylish Abingdon built sportscars always cause interest wherever they appear. It is hard to imagine this vehicle is 87 years old, what a great way to enjoy classic car motoring for a relatively modest outlay.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1975 Jensen Interceptor Mk. III Transmission: automaticMileage:41319The Jensen Interceptor was launched in 1966 and the all steel bodyshell broke away from the company's traditional method of construction that used GRP (glass reinforced plastic). Designed by Carrozzeria Touring, the early cars were built by Vignale before production eventually was carried out at the Jensen works in West Bromwich. Power was delivered by the Chrysler 6276cc, V8 through a TorqueFlite automatic transmission and final drive being a Salisbury axle with limited slip differential. A manual gearbox was offered as an option. 1968 saw the addition of power steering and, in 1969, the Mk. II was introduced with detail upgrades that included a revised front end and ventilated disc brakes. 1971 saw the introduction of the Mk. III; the engine size was increased to 7212cc and, it was at this time, the most powerful engine Jensen had produced. The imposing presence, power and distinctive shape that included the wrap around glass rear hatch drew the rich and famous to the marque. Production ceased in 1976 with a total of 6408 Interceptors manufactured.Originally registered on 20th February 1975 this delightful Jensen has only covered a mere 41,600 miles from new. Significant sums of money have been spent on this Interceptor over the years, as confirmed by the comprehensive history folder, this includes a large collection of MoT test certificates which confirm the low mileage. Finished in black with black interior , this handsome Jensen is certainly an impressive looking car. On opening the doors you are met not only by the sheer extent of the black leather but also the wonderful aroma it emits. This 7212cc engine is a delight when she bursts into life and is very responsive on the road; it is hard to believe this car is 46 years old. The styling of Interceptors is certainly impressive, borne out by how many admiring glances these cars attract on the open road. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a full year’s MoT test certificate, this is certainly one of the better examples available today.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

1990 Mercedes-Benz 280GE Transmission: automaticMileage:110000The Mercedes-Benz G-Class or G-Wagon, short for Geländewagen (cross-country vehicle), is characterised by its boxy styling and body-on-frame construction. It uses three fully locking differentials, one of the few vehicles to have such a feature. The G-Class is still in production and is one of the longest produced Mercedes-Benz vehicles in their history with a span of 32 years. It was developed as a military vehicle from a suggestion by the Shah of Iran and offered as a civilian version in 1979. The first major refinements were introduced in 1981, including an automatic transmission, air conditioning, an auxiliary fuel tank, protective headlamp grilles and a cable winch. Fuel injection became available in 1982 when the 230GE was introduced in Turin, along with more comfortable and supportive front seats, auxiliary heating, wider tyres and wheel arches. For 1985, differential locks, central door locking and a tachometer became standard.First registered on 14th November 1990 and offered in black with the original tartan grey Mercedes trim, this desirable long wheelbase 280GE with the 2.8 litre petrol engine is mated to a recently serviced automatic transmission. This example also boasts a ‘jump seat’ to the rear so in total it has space for six passengers. Featuring a recent service which included new front brake pads, this Mercedes is offered with the original owner’s manual, a raft of receipts and service invoices coupled to historic MoT test certificates. This 280GE boasts just four previous owners and an MoT test certificate valid until June 2022.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III Roadster Transmission: manualMileage:62395The E-Type Series III was introduced in 1971, with a new 5.3 litre, V12 engine, uprated brakes and standard power steering. Optionally, an automatic transmission, wire wheels and air conditioning were available. The brand new V12 engine came with four Zenith carburettors and was claimed to produce 272bhp, more torque, and a 0-60mph acceleration of less than seven seconds, which was phenomenal for the price of the car at that time, considering its competition in the market place. The short wheelbase fixedhead coupé body style was discontinued, with the Series III available only as a convertible and 2+2 coupé. The newly used longer wheelbase now offered significantly more room in all directions. These models were easily identifiable by the large cross-slatted front grille, flared wheel arches, wider tyres, four exhaust tips and a badge on the rear that proclaims it to be a V12. It is thought that only 7,990 convertibles and 7,297 fixedhead cars were produced. This superb right hand drive Jaguar spent many years of its life on Guernsey. The current vendor lived there for a while and brought the car with him when he returned to the mainland. Having owned the car since 1982 and with oceans of family memories, he has decided with a heavy heart that it is time for this E-Type to find a new owner for the first time in nearly forty years. The car was restored in 1985 and again in 2018; the vendor can only be described as fastidious and has always ensured this Series III Roadster is in excellent order. The Primrose coachwork is in superb condition as is all of the brightwork and, with good consistent panel gaps, it is clear the restoration work has been carried out to a high standard. The chrome wire wheels are unmarked and she sits on a very good set of tyres. Fitted with manual transmission we are advised she drives as good as she looks. Supplied with a UK V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate without advisories valid until 3rd June 2022, together with a good history folder. This is a delightful example of an evocative British sportscar and what better way to celebrate 60 years of the Jaguar E-Type launch. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 2017 Caterham Seven Spirit Transmission: manualMileage:270The Caterham Seven Sprint is the latest in a long and incredibly varied line of models and was launched at the Goodwood Revival in September 2017. The Sprint is the company’s celebration of their 60th anniversary and, handbuilt at the factory by Caterham, only 60 were produced for the global market with the entire allocation quickly snapped up by enthusiasts. It was available in a limited range of heritage hues for the body and scarlet red Muirhead Scottish leather for the interior seats. With the style of the car reminiscent of the original Lotus 7 models, the engine is the same 80hp three-cylinder turbo-charged 660cc Suzuki engine as fitted to Caterham’s Seven 160, along with its five-speed gearbox, and the drivability and performance are said to be exciting. This particular example is number 27 of 60 factory built cars, registered by Caterham on 5th July 2017 and delivered later in July 2017. A one owner car, the bodywork is painted in Camberwick Green complemented by cream steel wheels with chrome hubcaps, whilst the interior has stunning Muirhead Scottish leather adjustable seats in scarlet red embossed with ‘CATERHAM’ on the backrest. The interior also features a bespoke Moto-Lita wooden rimmed sport steering wheel with engraved aluminium centre embossed with ‘Seven Sprint’. This car comes with optional extras including driver and passenger lowered floors, weather equipment with cream piping, heated windscreen and heater. A real collector's item, this example comes with little over delivery mileage and benefits from a recent service in November this year and a new MoT. This Caterham is as new and is sure to be very popular for those looking for not only a fabulous driver’s car but also an appreciating asset.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1991 Lotus Elan SE Transmission: manualMileage:58256The Lotus M100 Elan, launched in 1989, was a two-seater, convertible sports car designed by Lotus and built with the development and testing resources of General Motors. Around £35 million was invested in its development, more than any other car in Lotus history. Its design, featuring a fibreglass composite body over a rigid steel monocoque chassis, was true to Lotus founder Colin Chapman's original philosophy of achieving performance through lightweight. The name 'Elan' connected the car with its 1960s ancestor, the original Lotus Elan. Conceived as a mass-market car and in particular one that would appeal to US buyers. Consequently, Lotus put an enormous effort into testing the car; over a two-year period 19 crash cars and 42 development vehicles were built, logging nearly a million test miles in locations from Arizona to the Arctic. The Elan was driven at racing speeds for 24 hours around the track at Snetterton. Finally, each new car was test-driven for around 30 miles at Lotus's Hethel factory to check for any manufacturing defects before being shipped to dealers.Supplied new by High Park Garage in August 1991 and initially serviced by London Lotus, this example is finished in Metallic Blue with a grey leather trim in SE specification and has covered a mere 58,256 miles from new. Purchased by Miss Hill, the second owner, in March 1995, the car was serviced and maintained by SGT. SGT cared for the car until 2001 when Steve Williams Sports Cars took over and maintained it until 2012 and 26,167 miles at which point the car was no longer a daily driver and only used for weekend driving, the car was then taken off the road and garaged between 2013 and 2018. More recently recommissioned and having been continuously MoT’d since, this example is in good order and boasts a new MoT test certificate and service with Bell & Colvill, the worlds longest serving Lotus dealers. Offered with a detailed history file, original handbook and stamped service booklet, this sprightly modern classic will put a smile on the face of all who drive her.Guide Price £8,000 - £13,000 Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Lot 273

1971 Saab 96 V4 Transmission: manualMileage:61323The Saab 96 was manufactured and marketed from 1960 to January 1980, replacing the 93. The 96 featured aerodynamic two-door bodywork, four passenger seating and at first a two-stroke, three cylinder engine, later a four-stroke V4. The front end was lengthened for 1965 models, in preparation for a new engine, and the radiator was placed ahead of the engine rather than above and behind, a leftover from the thermosiphon cooling days. Both front and rear windows were enlarged slightly for 1968 models. The Saab 96 was driven most famously by Erik Carlsson in many international rallies, coming first in the 1960, 1961 and 1962 RAC Rallies and first in the 1962 and 1963 Monte Carlo Rallies. It was these successive, top-level victories that put the Saab 96 'on the map' and established its reputation for reliability and toughness. Carlsson also competed in the East African Safari Rally. Famous rallying names such as Simo Lampinen, Per Eklund, Pat Moss-Carlsson, Tom Trana, Stig Blomqvist and Carl Orrenius have also been connected with the Saab 96.This delightful Saab 96, first registered on 1st July 1971, is presented in red with retrimmed red and black vinyl seats and boasts a modern stereo. Owned and maintained by our enthusiastic vendor, this is a great entry level classic combining rally connotations from the great 96’s driven by Carlsson and Blomqvist with the practicality of four generous seats and a truly unique design. This long nose V4 version with the 1.5 litre 65 bhp engine is a slice of a bygone era and indeed manufacturer, as Saab ceased production altogether in 2014.Guide Price £3,000 - £6,000 Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1968 Volvo P1800S Transmission: manualMileage:69500In December 1957, the first handbuilt P1800 prototype was driven to the headquarters of Karmann. Volvo had hoped that Karmann would be able to take on the tooling and building of the P1800 and they were ready to build it which meant that the first cars could hit the market as early as December 1958. But in February, Karmann's most important customer, Volkswagen, forbade Karmann to take on the job as they feared that the P1800 would compete with the sales of their own cars and threatened to cancel all their contracts if they took it on. This setback almost caused the project to be abandoned and it looked doomed until a press release surfaced with a photo of the car, putting Volvo in a position where they had to acknowledge its existence. These events influenced the company to renew its efforts with the car and it was presented to the public for the first time at the Brussels Motor Show in January 1960. Volvo turned to Jensen Motors, whose production lines were under-utilised and they agreed a contract for 10,000 cars. This elegant example has recently been repainted and presents in dark green with a superb new beige interior, including dashboard, carpets and upholstery. Accompanying this retro classic is a large history file containing many receipts and invoices and old MoT test certificates. This model was of course made famous by the 1960s series ‘The Saint’, starring Sir Roger Moore. Interestingly, Jaguar was first offered the opportunity to provide an E-Type for the TV series but declined. Volvo accepted and offered a P1800, leading to increased sales. This stunning Volvo is offered to auction with a V5C registration document and, although exempt by age, an MoT test certificate valid until February 2022 without advisories. These cars still turn heads today, displaying that wonderful styling and poise so typical of that era.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1960 Jensen 541R Transmission: manualMileage:60043At the start of the 1950's, Jensen had a sound commercial vehicle business providing bread and butter income and an exclusive car business making expensive Interceptor touring cars. The bodywork was mostly aluminium but as an experiment, Jensen had started making the large boot lids in a revolutionary material formed from hair-thin glass embedded in a resinous gel; glass fibre. The body was designed by Eric Neale in conjunction with Richard Jensen. First, he created the distinctive 'mouth' shape and the rest of the body flowed back from that point. A lattice of wooden body formers provided a reference over which skilled craftsmen beat a skin of aluminium. The finished car was exhibited at the 1953 Motor Show but there was one trick left up Jensen's sleeve; production cars were to be constructed of glass fibre. The first few production cars are just known as the 541. As production increased, the options available increased and a package incorporating the best extras was applied to the car marketed as the '541 Deluxe'. Rack and pinion steering was the latest innovation and was marketed as the 541R. The body changed at the same time with striking curves or strakes being added. These appeared over the rear wheel arches and on the bonnet leading to an air vent. In 1959, work started on creating a slightly larger 541, which would be better suited to long-distance cruising.Registered new on 20th July 1960, this UK supplied right hand drive example is the desirable and rare ‘R’ derivative. This Jensen has been laid up in a barn for many years and as such is offered as a full restoration project. Under the layers of dust its clear to see that this 541R is largely original, the two-tone red and white coachwork is still rather presentable as is the interior. Rarely do you see projects like this come to the open market and once completed we are sure it will be huge amounts of fun for the new custodian. This Jensen has had just four owners from new and is offered with its UK V5 registration document. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 2009 Mini Cooper S JCW Transmission: manualMileage:109726Introduced in 2001, the hatchback Mini was the first model of the new generation and back then was simply known as Mini. It was available in Cooper, Cooper S and One variations. In many European markets, the Mini One was powered by a 1.4 litre version but all other petrol powered Minis used the 1.6 litre version. The names Cooper and Cooper S, used for the sportier version of the classic Mini, came from the involvement of John Cooper and the Cooper Car Company. The John Cooper Works model was further refined consisting of an uprated induction system, exhaust and ECU remap, which raised power by 17bhp.This John Cooper Works example is in good order throughout and comes complete with an extensive service history. It benefits from having a rebuilt engine which was completed circa 30,000 miles ago along with other works including a new timing chain kit, new water pump and new clutch. Huge amounts of money have been spent on this example which is detailed in the history file. Offered with a sizeable paperwork file including extensive service history, previous MoT test certificate, its UK V5 registration document and a MoT test certificate valid until 1st February 2022. Interested parties should note that in 2013 this example was recorded as a category D insurance loss. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1980 Lotus Eleven Replica By Andrew Denton Transmission: manualMileage:302The Eleven was designed by Colin Chapman and fitted with a sleek body designed by aerodynamicist Frank Costin. Its top version, dubbed Le Mans, was generally fitted with a 1100cc Coventry Climax FWA engine and occasionally with a 1500cc. Coventry Climax FWB engine mounted in the front of a tubular space frame and featured a De Dion rear axle and Girling disc brakes. Several cars were fitted with alternative engines by their owners, these included Coventry Climax 1500cc, Maserati 150S 1500cc and 750cc engines. There were two main body styles, one with a headrest and the other with no headrest, just two small fins. Some cars were later fitted with a closed body with gullwing doors to meet GT specifications. This superb looking Lotus Eleven Replica has recently been imported from South Africa where it resided in a private collection. It was professionally built in 1980 by South African coachbuilder Andrew Denton to replicate the original Lotus Eleven that, in 1957, won the Index of Performance for the Le Mans 24hr Race. Fitted with an aluminum body and tubular chassis this Eleven has been built to ‘Club model’ specification which includes a live rear axle. In 2018 and 2019 this Eleven was successfully campaigned by Diane Dugmore at multiple HSSA events such as the South African Historic Grand Prix.In good order throughout this Eleven runs and drives very well. The engine sounds fantastic when on song and coupled with its light aluminum body it makes for a rather quick example indeed. 2013 Lotus Seven Replica By Birkin Racing Transmission: manualMileage:When the Lotus Seven was launched in 1957, designed by the legendary Colin Chapman, it was far ahead of any other sports racing cars of the era. The car was so right first time, it is still in production today, as the Caterham. It is the second most copied car on the planet. Lotus produced the classic Seven through until 1970, the Series 3 benefitting from a strengthened chassis, wider wheels and tyres, slightly wider and strengthened Ford Escort Mexico back axle, exterior fuel filler and even a fuel gauge! This well-presented Lotus Seven replica is based on a Birkin Racing Seven. It has recently been imported from South Africa where it was part of a private collection and raced regularly. Rebuilt to race specification, this Seven is fitted with a black top Toyota 4A-GE 20 valve engine, developing circa 175bhp. Other upgrades include fully rose jointed suspension, uprated wheels and tyres, a safety fuel tank (which sits in the passenger seat), fully independent rear suspension, limited slip differential, upgraded shock absorbers and fully independent rear suspension.Presented in ‘Team Lotus’ livery, this example has previously been a front runner in the Lotus Challenge Series and we are sure it will be a very competitive car for the new custodian. Offered with all UK Taxes paid and a NOVA document, this extremely fast example is sure to be huge amounts of fun for the new owner. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1993 Mercedes-Benz 300 GEL Transmission: automaticMileage:226000The Mercedes-Benz G-Class or G-Wagon, short for Geländewagen (cross-country vehicle), is characterised by its boxy styling and body-on-frame construction. For 1985, differential locks, central door locking and a tachometer became standard.Originally registered on 30th September 1993, this long wheelbase, petrol engine, G-Wagon defies the mileage as it presents exceedingly well. Clearly a very well looked after example, the black coachwork is virtually unmarked and the grey leather interior shows no significant signs of wear and is unblemished. We are advised she drives as good as she looks and the engine certainly sounds great. This highly desirable Mercedes-Benz is fitted with the additional seats to the rear and benefits from having had a recent full service, including a gearbox service, new front discs and pads and a new exhaust system. Supplied with the original owner’s manual and maintenance booklet, together with two sets of keys, previous service receipts, a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 20th February 2022, this 28 year old utility vehicle is fitted with automatic transmission and offers versatility, reliability and prestige all in one.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 2010 Aston Martin DBS Volante Transmission: automaticMileage:8090The Aston Martin DBS was a grand tourer based on the DB9 and replaced the 2004 Vanquish S as the flagship model. The DBS name had been used once before on their 1967-72 grand tourer coupé and the modern car was officially unveiled at the 2007 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on 16th August 2007. The convertible version of the DBS, dubbed the DBS Volante, was unveiled at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, followed this time by the 2009 Concours d'Elegance. The DBS Volante included a motorised retractable fabric roof controlled by a button in the centre console which could fold into the compartment located behind the seats in just 14 seconds. Impressively the roof could also be opened or closed even at speeds up to 30mph. Other features included rear-mounted six-speed manual or optional six-speed ‘Touchtronic 2’ automatic gearbox and a Bang & Olufsen BeoSound DBS in-car entertainment system with 13 speakers. The DBS was selected to be the service issue Aston Martin for the 2006 James Bond movie Quantum of Solace and stared in a record breaking action sequence towards the end of the film and an exhilarating opening scene for Daniel Craig's second outing as Bond. This stunning low mileage DBS Volante offered in Silver is enough to make any Aston enthusiast go weak at the knees the moment the glorious V12 engine roars into life. Benefitting from a full service history, two sets of keys, a V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until October 2022, the odometer on this Aston Martin has only just clicked past 8,000 miles. Boasting a huge specification, the DBS, especially with the roof down, looks and sounds fabulous and is sure to be a future classic with many describing it as the next Aston Martin for the serious collector or investor. This fine, low mileage example should pay generous dividends in years to come and while you wait why not imagine yourself as a suave 007. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 2001 BMW M5 Transmission: manualMileage:160123Just like the Jaguar Mk. II had done in the 1960's, the BMW M5, newly introduced for 1998, effectively reinvented the popular notion of a sports saloon. Jaguar had just introduced an XJR with 365bhp, and Mercedes-Benz's latest E55 produced 350bhp so, after a three-year absence, BMW responded last with an automotive knock-out punch: the E39 M5. Its muscular bodywork concealed a 5.0 litre, DOHC 32 valve, V8 with variable valve timing producing roughly 400bhp and mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Sitting on alloy wheels, daring drivers could sprint from 0-60 in just 4.7 seconds; faster than a Porsche 911, while roaring through the gears with a 7,000rpm redline and a throaty exhaust note blaring through four exhaust tips.Presented in the popular Silverstone blue with black and grey leather trim, this desirable six-speed manual E39 M5 has been with the last vendor since 2013. It benefits from a comprehensive service history, the most recent in August of this year and an MoT test valid until September 2022. With an optional front splitter this collectable E39 is offered at a very attractive estimate; naturally aspirated V8 M5’s are fabulous drivers’ cars and, with prices climbing, viewing is highly recommended.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

1962 Chevrolet Corvette C1 Transmission: manualMileage:52218General Motors designer Harley Earl loved sports cars and was influenced by the GI’s bringing home MGs, Jaguars, Alfa Romeo’s and the like after hostilities ceased in Europe in 1945. Even the small independent carmaker, Nash Motors, began selling a two-seater sports car in 1951. Earl convinced GM that they also needed to build a two-seat sports car. Earl and his 'special projects' crew began working on the new car later that year which was code named 'Opel'. The result was the 1953 Corvette, which took its name from a small, manoeuvrable fighting frigate and was unveiled to the public at that years Motorama Car Show.Presented in iconic red with red inserts, this splendid C1 was fully restored in the US before our enthusiastic owner took delivery in early 2017. This is an Arizona supplied car, as seen by the original US title. The first and only owner in the UK, our vendor, has used the car for trips to the pub and local shows in his five years of ownership, with most journeys being relatively short apart from a recent trip to Cornwall during which he states the car performed excellently both their and back and was a pleasure to drive. Boasting the 327ci V8 engine, recent additions include a new fuel tank and electronic ignition, new water pump, all gearbox and shaft seals replaced on the four-speed manual gearbox and we are informed there are no drips, the Rochester carburettor has been rebuilt and fitted which has made for a great responsive drive.Having always been garaged in an air-conditioned garage, as part of our vendors modest collection, the car never sees the rain and at the time of consignment all gauges were in working order apart from the clock, but one could say time stands still when enjoying a C1 on the road with the top down. This is a very well priced and iconic C1 in what we believe is the best colour combination.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

1990 Volvo 240GL Saloon Transmission: manualMileage:44641You can't fool the general public and with over 2.8 million Volvo 240/260s sold during their lifetime, the message is clear. These cars are well-built; workhorses and they have to be to cope with the long Swedish winters. All panels are fully galvanised and reliability is a given. There is no breaking down when it's 20° below outside. This is the 240 GL, the mid-engined of the range with two litres and four cylinders at your disposal. The GL relates to comfort level and with electric windows, special Volvo snow mats and the elegant charcoal velour interior, it is easy to see why it was so popular in the 70s and 80s.Supplied fully serviced from the vendor’s private collection and complete with a 12-month MoT test certificate, this example stands out not only for its low mileage but as well as its remarkable condition. This represents one of the more versatile models supplied with four doors, a petrol engine and a five-speed manual gearbox. The quality of the interior reflects the exterior and this Nordic classic is now one for collectors.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1966 Triumph TR4A IRS (Surrey Top) Transmission: manualMileage:49438Produced between 1961 and 1967, the Triumph TR4 combined a new, modern, and aggressive body design by famed Italian stylist, Giovanni Michelotti, with the basic chassis of the previous TR3A. The TR4 also improved passenger comfort with wind-up windows, face-level ventilation, and an optional hardtop. When equipped with the optional overdrive, the TR4 was good for a top speed of almost 110mph. Following on from the TR4, the new TR4A was phased in smoothly at the beginning of 1965 and introduced an all-new independent rear suspension system (IRS), which provided exceptional rear-wheel camber control with excellent wheel travel while softer springs improved the ride quality. Having six universal joints, three propshafts and two trailing arms, the system was appreciatively more expensive than the previous live axle arrangement (dealers in the US reacted uncomfortably to the new design on cost grounds; to appease them, Triumph built the TR4A in two forms, one with a live axle primarily for the US and the TR4A IRS for other markets where the price was less sensitive). The press was happy to see an all-independent car, and Triumph was pleased to be the first British car manufacturer to have all-independent suspensions under every car in their line-up. At the Sebring 12 Hours in 1966, ample proof of the validity of the IRS was provided when three IRS-equipped TR4As achieved a remarkable 1-2-3 class victory.Manufactured on 4th May 1966 and distributed to H.A. Browett & Co. Ltd in Leicester, this Triumph was then registered on 17th May 1966 and presents in the delightful colour combination of Signal Red with black interior. Sitting proudly on wire wheels this has clearly been a very well cared for vehicle and comes with a superb history folder. The Heritage Certificate verifies it to be a matching numbers example and confirms NAB 595D to have independent rear suspension, overdrive, occasional rear seat, heater and a hard (Surrey) top, together with a Surrey soft top. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 19th September 2022, this is a very good example of a desirable TR4A IRS.      Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Lot 275

2001 Jaguar X-Type Transmission: automaticMileage:22500The X-Type, codenamed X400, was launched in 2001 to compete in the compact executive class dominated by the rear-wheel drive BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class despite Jaguar having no directly competitive platform. Instead, the X-Type used a modified version of the front-drive Ford CD132 platform shared with the contemporary Ford Mondeo with the addition of all-wheel drive and handling and steering engineered to minimise front-wheel drive torque-steer. Initially, the X-Type was available only with all wheel drive, using a centre differential with a default split of 60% torque to the rear wheels, 40% to the front wheels. Engines included either of two V6 petrol engines: 2.5 litre or 3.0 litre. In 2002, an entry level 2.1 litre V6 front wheel drive model was added. All three engines were available with either five- speed automatic or five-speed manual gearboxes. This lovely example is presented in metallic blue with cream trim has covered a remarkably low 22,500 miles and has just three previous keepers, the first owner having the car until August 2020. This is an all-wheel drive example with the desirable 3.0 litre petrol engine and is described by our vendor as driving superbly having been garaged most of its life. Within the history file is a service booklet with eight service stamps, receipts and invoices verifying the mileage. An MoT test certificate until September 2022 and the cherished number are included in the sale and we are informed the car is only being sold purely due to loss of covered storage. This is an all wheel drive, low mileage example in stunning condition that combines practicality with Jaguars legendary reputation. Guide Price £5,000 - £7,000Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Lot 134

1959 Mercedes-Benz 220S Ponton Transmission: manualMileage:41584The Mercedes-Benz 220A was succeeded in March 1956 by the 220S saloon which was externally almost identical but had an upgraded version of the six cylinder, 2195cc engine giving 99hp which was later increased to 106hp due to the use of twin carburettors. Introduced in 1956, the 220S saloon was one of a trio of new models featuring unitary construction bodyshells employing large, box-section side members, hence the term 'Ponton'; the others being the 190 and 219. All round coil-sprung independent suspension had long been a fixture of the Mercedes-Benz range and that of the newcomers benefitted from the newly developed single pivot rear swing axle. Short-wheelbase coupé and cabriolet versions of the 220S soon followed. Visually, the 220S featured a new one-piece front bumper instead of the three-piece bumper used on the 220A. Also, the twin chrome and rubber strips running under the doors of the 220A were replaced with solid chrome strips. This delightful 220S Ponton, offered in black with a red leather interior, was delivered originally to South Africa. In right hand drive format, this Mercedes-Benz example was purchased from its original owner and then shipped to Germany in 1990. Whilst in Germany, the Ponton was restored between 1991 and 1992 with the bodyshell coated in zinc prior to painting. Most of the restoration, we are led to believe, was with an ex-Mercedes-Benz engineer; the engine was subsequently overhauled by Mercedes-Benz AG of Neu-Ulm in 1996. Supplied with a V5C registration document, we are advised this Mercedes-Benz 220S Ponton drives as good as she looks.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1946 Citroën Light 15 Transmission: manualMileage:81531The Citroën Traction Avant was manufactured from 1934 to 1957. The Traction Avant, French for 'front-wheel drive', was designed by André Lefèbvre and Flaminio Bertoni in late 1933. While not the first produced front-wheel drive car, it was the world's first front-wheel drive steel monocoque production car and successfully pioneered front-wheel drive on the European mass car market. This method of construction was viewed with great suspicion in many quarters, with doubts about its strength, an unusual type of crash test was conceived taking the form of driving the car off a cliff to demonstrate its strength. Left hand drive versions were built in Paris, Belgium and Denmark, right hand drive cars were built in Slough, England. The Slough version was called the Light 15 and the long wheelbase the Big 15. This confusing terminology referred to the British fiscal tax rating of the time which was higher than the French. Models assembled in Slough had to be 51% UK parts to make them exempt from import duty, to protect the British vehicle manufacturers from foreign competition. The Slough built cars used 12 Volt Lucas electrics, headlights, dynamo and starter motor with Jaeger instruments and a walnut dashboard.First registered on 5th November 1946 to an owner in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, this car was built in the first year of Slough production and retains its original number plate. This is also the more desirable specification Citroën Light with the added benefit of being a ‘small boot’ car. The car presents well in black with contrasting trim and a good woodwork dash and is reported by the vendor to run and drive very well. Our vendor is only for sale due to his collection getting slightly too large and needing to free up some room. Supplied with its UK V5C registration document and the original buff logbook, this car has been well maintained and during his ownership and has been fitted with seat belts. These right hand drive, Slough built, small boot cars are the most desirable Light 15’s and are versatile and immensely enjoyable classics.Guide Price £6,000 - £10,000Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1959 Jaguar XK150 Roadster (3.4 litre) Transmission: manualMileage:171Spring of 1957 would turn out to be the final glorious incarnation of Jaguar’s fabulous ‘XK’ series of sports cars. The XK150, lightly re styled with its newly fitted Dunlop disc brakes and other minor upgrades. First available only in fixed head and drophead coupé forms, the newcomer retained the same basic chassis, 3.4-litre engine and four-speed Moss transmission of its predecessors but was improved with a restyled, roomier body with a higher front wing line, single-piece wrap-around windscreen, and broader radiator grille. A wider body would also facilitate a single-piece wrap-around windscreen replacing the divided screen. This very well presented example is one of the best we have seen and was delivered new to Jaguar Cars New York in May 1958. More recently been repatriated to the UK where a comprehensive restoration was undertaken. The matching numbers engine was rebuilt and the brightwork has been re-chromed along with a new set of wire wheels. The interior too has been retrimmed to a very high standard in blue, and the body was treated to a bare metal respray in a fabulous shade of ivory. In superb order this XK150 is ready for a new custodian and is offered with many invoices detailing the restoration, which totalled over £50,000, the UK registration document, and the Jaguar Heritage Certificate. This superb example is one of the best we have seen and is ready to be used and enjoyed by a new custodian.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction.
