Jaeger-Le Coultre, An Atmos mantel clock, the white chapter ring having applied Arabic & tapered hour numerals, Dauphine hands, and signed to the centre `Jaeger-Le Coultre, Atmos, Swiss Made`, with the underside of the lacquered brass four glass case signed and stamped with the movement calibre number `526-5`, the top of the escapement also signed and stamped with the serial number `132189`, giving a date of manufacture for 1960, height 22cm. A GERMAN 22-BORE WHEEL-LOCK SPORTING RIFLE, second half of the 17th century, with 31 1/4in. swamped octagonal sighted barrel rifled with eight grooves, engraved lock with internal wheel and manual pan- cover (engraving worn), figured walnut full stock carved with scrollwork around the cheek-piece (some cracks and repairs), engraved brass mounts (some replaced), sliding wooden patchbox-cover carved with scrollwork, applied leather cheek-pad, later ramrod (some surface corrosion throughout, trigger-plate detached).

PATENT 28106' bead sight with flip-up moonsight, the whole folding over to expose a blade sight, tubes engraved ".450 / .400 EXPRESS, 3 1/4" CASE", "60 GRS. CORDITE. .400 GRN. S.N.S.P. BULLET" and 'WILLIAM EVANS. 63. PALL MALL. ST. JAMES'S. LONDON.', treble-grip action with removable striker discs, manual safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, best border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining traces of original colour-hardening, 14 3/4in. well-figured pistolgrip stock with sling swivels, engraved steel pistolgrip-cap and including 1in. rubber recoil pad, fore-end with grip-catch release, weight 9lb. 15oz., in a re-lined brass-cornered oak-lined leather case.

A MAGNIFICENT .577 NITRO EXPRESS SIDELOCK EJECTOR DOUBLE RIFLE, serial no. 21.2259, 25 1/4in. nitro Bohler-steel chopperlump barrels, matt sight-rib gold-inlaid with the maker's name, and with open sights with gold sighting lines and ramp-mounted bead foresight with flip-up moonsight, gold-inlaid with the calibre and a line at the breech end, massive treble-grip action with side-clips and side-bolsters, removable striker discs, articulated front trigger, cocking-indicators, elongated top-strap, manual safety, action and lockplates finely relief-engraved with bold stylised acanthus scrollwork on a matt background, surrounding and invading fine relief engraved game scenes, the fore-end iron engraved en-suite, the left lockplate with a scene set at a savannah watering hole, with lion, cape buffalo and foraging spoonbills, the right with sparring bull elephants and the underside with a leopard basking on a tree branch, the triggerplate signed Franz Haas, silver finish overall, 15in. exhibition grade burr walnut pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, steel pistolgrip-cap (with trap) engraved with scrollwork and the portrait of a rhino, and 1in. leather covered recoil pad, beavertail fore-end, weight 13lb. 4oz., in a universal case.

Bohler antinit-steel nitro 12-bore shot barrels with ventilated matt top-rib, wooden side-fillets, the breech end deeply engraved with bold acanthus scrolls and carved in relief with mallard in flight, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke; Quadruple-grip action with side-bolsters, removable striker discs, manual safety with integral barrel selector switch, toplever finely pierced with a capercaillie, hand-detachable lockplates with concealed flush release lever, cocking-indicators, side-bolsters carved in relief with floral and foliate motifs on a matt background, the action and furniture with bold stylised acanthus scrolls, the lockplates deeply carved in relief and white metal inlaid with fine depictions of red deer and wild boar with hounds and set in wooded landscapes, the underside relief engraved and white metal inlaid with a coat of arms, old silver finish overall, 14 5/8in. well-figured pistolgrip stock with sling swivels, weight 8lb. 13oz. (9.3x74R and 7x65R barrels) and 7lb. 8oz. (12-bore barrels).
