1950 Triumph 6T ThunderbirdMake: TriumphModel: 6TYear: 1951Mileage: 330VIN: 14321Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: XVV477Transmission: ManualThe 6T Thunderbird was launched in 1949, with Triumph's intention being to particularly appeal to the American market. It used a variant of the earlier Speed Twin's parallel-twin engine, bored out from 500cc to 650cc, something which pleased US US customers because of the resultant hike in horsepower. Triumph gained valuable publicity for the 6T from Marlon Brando's 1953 movie The Wild One, in which he rode a 1950 example. However, it seems the company was initially less than thrilled with the valuable exposure, and objected in writing to the producers about the use of their machine in a film about rowdy motorcycle gangs. This blue Thunderbird was completed in October 1950 and dispatched to E C Jukes of Wincanton. Not much is known about its early life beyond that, but it seems to have gone abroad soon afterwards, and was only brought back to the UK at the end of 2017. The vendor tells us that this 'sprung hub' model has been fitted with a 1954-60 crank, with its shells reground and rebored. The clutch and chains are recent, and the electrics have been converted to positive earth. A mono carb has been installed, along with a new cut-out in 2018. We're advised that all are 'working well'. The odometer reading indicated is 330 miles. History is minimal; the V5C is present, along with a Vintage Motor Cycle Club Ltd dating certificate, some handwritten notes, and a couple of pictures.

After that it was stored in a heated garage. Its low mileage of 10,527 miles is supported by the MoT documentation, and the vendor tells us that it 'starts, runs and rides well'. Recent work carried out includes cleaning out the carburettors and tank, with fresh fuel then added. A new ignition switch was also fitted. The bike would benefit from some minor cosmetic work to the plastic side covers and front mudguard, but otherwise looks good. Included in the paperwork folder is the V5C plus works manual and documents file. There's also the MoT certificate for 2012, plus some older ones back to 1992. The bike will also come with some parts such as the original airbox and filter as well as a matching headlamp cowl, windscreen and fittings, for the next owner to install if required.

1961 Triumph T21 350ccMake: Triumph Model: T21 Year: 1961Mileage: 1808VIN: H23922Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: 732YUDTransmission: manualTriumph's Twenty One model - its name referring either to the 21st anniversary of Triumph Engineering Ltd or its 350cc engine displacement in cubic inches (ie 21ci) - was launched in 1957 and proved a significant model for the British motorcycle manufacturer as it introduced unit construction. With this build process, the engine and gearbox components shared the same casing. This example was registered in 1961 but reregistered in 1998. The last owner acquired it in June 2017, when its mileage was 59,767 miles. Since then, 3552 miles have been added, bringing the total mileage up to 63,319. However, a new speedometer was installed at 61,511 miles, hence the current odometer reading of 1808 miles. We're told that it has been little-used since the start of the COVID pandemic, but has been well-maintained and thoroughly enjoyed. The paperwork folder includes the V5C, MoT certificates from 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017. There are just two bills, from 2015 (for some carburettor work as part of an investigation into a loss of power) and a new rear tyre in 2013. There's also a memo book recording mileages and journeys from September 2009 to October 2021. Seven former registered keepers are recorded on the V5C, with the last MoT having expired in May 2019.

The Volusia name was attached prior to 2005, in reference to Volusia County in Florida, where the bike was originally unveiled at the 2001 Daytona Bike Week. From 2005, however, the Boulevard C50 name has been used for the model. This example was UK-registered in August 2002, although prior to that, it had been registered and used abroad for a short while. Its present MoT is valid until May 2022 and the odometer reading shows 7397 miles covered. Five former registered keepers are recorded on the V5C. The paperwork file includes the V5C, current MoT certificate and previous ones from 2006 and 2015, and the owner's manual. There are also three photos of the bike from 2007. In 2004, the motorcycle was recorded as a Category D insurance loss (vehicle damaged but repairable - insurer decided not to repair).

It's believed that it may well have been last used in 2001, as there is an insurance document from this time displayed in the windscreen. It will require a full restoration plus UK registration. The paperwork is limited to an Italian registration document plus a few other items of Italian paperwork. The odometer records 27,894km (17,332 miles).

As this last MoT lists the mileage as 219 miles - and the odometer currently reads 269 (actually 100,269) miles - it seems likely that the car was taken off the road during 2006. He tells us that structural repairs have been done, along with the inner and outer sills, wings, doors and boot panel etc. Documents include the the V5C plus a previous V5, as well as a heritage certificate, and receipts for panels. The odometer shows the current mileage as 09005 miles and the last MoT expired in November 2018.

The odometer shows 43,382 kilometres covered. Having been out of use for around 15 years, this example of East Germany's people's car will require recommissioning before returning to the road again.

The car looks to be largely complete, although the engine's cylinder head is missing. However, other parts such as the carburettors, manifold and rocker box are in the boot, along with other parts.

The S (for Super) featured a high-performance twin-overhead-cam 16-valve 187bhp 2479cc engine, and was capable of 0-60mph in 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 144 mph. Elsewhere there were transmission and suspension tweaks, the latter also improving the handling. This red example was registered in May 1988 and has had nine former registered keepers since then, according to the V5C with the last owner registered since 2012. The odometer reading is 149,917 miles, although this isn't warranted. Please note, the car is currently not running. There's a Haynes workshop manual, plus the original document wallet with owner's manual, dealership directory, radio booklet and other sundry items, plus the service book, which is stamped up to 124,040 miles in 2010.

This example, registered December 1986, is very presentable with cream paint and a beige leather interior. However, it is being sold as a non-runner. Five former registered keepers are noted on the V5C, which is present in the paperwork file. The odometer reading is 95,762 miles, with the last MoT expiring in August 2020. The original leather document wallet is included, with the owner's manual, hard-top lift instructions, European service booklet, and Kenwood CD/radio instructions. There are two service booklets, with stamps from 1987 to 2009 (75,398 miles) in one, and then 2010 to January 2020 (95,356 miles) in the other. A spare set of keys, with immobiliser decoder, also comes with the car, as does the factory hard-top.

It was off the road for around 40 years, being given to Thurrock college while still comparatively young, presumably for the student mechanics there to practice their craft on. The college sold it on in 1998, but it was only in July 2002 that it returned to the roads, being reregistered with its original number. There were reputedly only 12 MkI Cortina 1198cc estates made, most customers preferring the more powerful 1498cc load-luggers. This one has been recommissioned at some point, although it's unclear when. Some more work will be required though, not least a new petrol tank as the original has rusted through and is presently off the car. The vendor also reports that the clutch pedal requires pumping a few times before it reaches full pressure. The odometer records the mileage as 6304 miles, although this isn't warranted. The history folder includes the V5C, owner's handbook, workshop manual, and assorted bills from the first decade of the 21st century. This example, registered in October 1984 and with four former keepers noted on the V5C, was used as a primary vehicle until approximately 1996, according to the vendor. However, having been off the road for many years, it is now in need of recommissioning and is not running. The odometer shows 96,066 miles. The car comes with its V5C, parts list, service notes and 1986 brochure. On the V5C, the vehicle is recorded as its predecessor, an Eclat, rather than the Excel model it actually is.

After it resumed, the existing DB18 was joined by the DB18 Sports Special. This was a much more curvaceous and attractive model, with a distinctive rounded radiator grille that would be a feature of Daimler models for many years afterwards. This maroon Barker-bodied drophead coupe variant, with six-cylinder 2522cc engine, was registered in January 1952, and has had five former keepers. The odometer reading is 94,584 miles. The car was last on the road in 2015 when it ran in the King's Lynn and District Motor Club Vintage and Classic Car Rally, so will require recommissioning to return to the road. The paperwork history includes the V5C and a somewhat fragile owner's handbook.

There is little paperwork accompanying the car, aside from the current V5C and a 1982 V5 document. Only one UK owner is indicated by the V5C. 1959 Jaguar MKI 3.4 M/OD Ex George FormbyMake: JaguarModel: MKIYear: 1959Mileage: 71506VIN: S976920DNConfiguration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: GF2Transmission: manualThis late Jaguar MkI has quite a story attached to it. Its first owner was a certain George Formby, the much-loved entertainer of the 1930s and 1940s most famous for his ukulele playing. He bought the Mist Grey with red leather upholstery 3.4-litre car from Woodhead's Garage in Blackpool during 1959, and transferred his personalised plate, GF2, onto it. Not long afterwards, on August Bank Holiday 1959, George and wife Beryl were driving along the A47 just past King's Lynn, heading for Great Yarmouth where George was appearing at the Windmill Theatre. At East Winch, an Austin A30 turned right while the Jaguar was overtaking, and the two cars collided. The Formbys were taken to hospital in King's Lynn suffering from shock. At the subsequent court case, the A30 driver was found guilty of careless driving, with George paying tribute to the Jaguar's stopping abilities, thanks to it having disc brakes on all four wheels. "I hadn't an earthly chance of avoiding him... it's lucky I have a car with terrific braking power," he said of the Jaguar while giving evidence. However, despite this accolade, it was the end of George's ownership of the MkI. He traded the damaged car in for a new Sherwood Green Jaguar MkIX from Mann Egerton in Norwich. An allowance of £1425 was given for the damaged MkI, which was then repaired and sold on. The Jaguar was subsequently re-registered but taken off the road during 1968. However, after a few decades, it was rescued and reunited with its 'GF 2' numberplate in 2002. Its restoration ran to 2500 hours over a period of six months. The current mileage is shown as 71,506 miles. The car comes with several items of Formby memorabilia including a biography which looks at the East Winch incident in considerable detail, a DVD about George Formby's Norfolk, a pair of sunglasses worn by George in 1949, and George's race card from the Manchester Races Whitsuntide Meeting in May 1958, plus other period items such as a box of Gee's Linctus Pastilles, Ronson lighter accessories, a purse of old coins, and a Jack Powles and Company brochure for Norfolk holiday boat hire. Documents relating to the Jaguar include an owner's handbook for the similar Mk2, as well as a workshop manual for the MkI. Although an older restoration, the Jaguar generally in very good order and is the most sought-after 3.4-litre manual with overdrive variant. The interior is especially nice, with just light patina to the red leather seats and walnut veneer in very fine order throughout. The car will require some attention to the engine to get it running, however. The 'GF 2' numberplate is non-transferable and thus will need to stay with the vehicle.

With 158bhp, it was rather more potent than a standard 5. At the time of its launch, it was the most powerful production French car. The model came in Berlinetta (fully enclosed), Spider (soft-top), GTS (Targa-style roof) and Challenge (race-prepared) forms. Our vendor's example is a GTS example, registered in December 1996 and one of just 2577 built with removable roof panels. It's finished in Rossa with a Crema interior, and has a MoT valid until November 2022. Six former registered keepers are recorded. The paperwork file for this 39,882-mile car is extensive and well-organised. There are all MoTs from 1996 onwards, which verify the sub-40,000-mile total as genuine. There's tracker subscription information, which any new owner can renew in their name, as well as a confirmation that the vehicle was recalled for the safety replacement of a fuel distribution block. The many bills date from when the car was new and run into the many thousands, with most of them from official Ferrari dealerships or specialists. A full service and new cambelts were fitted in June 2021 at circa 39,800 miles, with the work costing close to £3000. The car has done very few miles since this work was carried out. A couple of magazine articles on the F355 are also in the folder. The car, which is in excellent condition inside and out, will be sold with its original seats and rear panel; one from a Competizione model is currently fitted on the back.

Three former registered keepers are recorded on the V5C. The car was driven 160 miles to the auction with no issues, according to the vendor. Recent work carried out includes a full service including oil filter, spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor and condenser. There's also been a new clutch, battery, and the subframe mounts and all four jacking points underneath have recently been done. The car presents well, albeit with some areas of minor bubbling in places on the body. The interior appears to be original and thus displays some patina. Having only covered 40,777 miles - which is warranted by the history file - this Vauxhall is still in very good order; it drives well, and aside from a few bonnet stonechips and other minor age-related marks here and there on the body, presents very well externally. The white and grey check interior is also nicely preserved, with the only issue being a slightly saggy headlining. The MoT is valid until May 2022. After the launch of the 900 in 1978, Saab became concerned that it didn't have a base, entry level model. So a prototype was created with the front end of a 99 and the middle and rear of a two-door 900 saloon. The resultant car was dubbed the 90, to tie in with the 900 and the new 9000. In total, 25,378 Saab 90s were made, but the runaway success of the 900 overshadowed it, and in 1987 production ended after just three years. What was quite a rare car in its day is even rarer now. This example, in Ivory with brown cloth interior, was registered in August 1985, but taken off the road in 1994. However, according to the vendor, it was kept in a good garage under a car cover. In September 2021, it was recommissioned with a complete new exhaust system, new rear brake calipers, overhauled front brake calipers, and new water and fuel pumps. The bill for the recent work totalled £1350.

The vendor purchased it in 1997, after which it received a full repaint in 2012 and an engine rebuild in 2013. Recent attention has involved new tyres being fitted during 2021. The paperwork includes correspondence with the Morgan Three-Wheeler Club Ltd, which believed (at least in 2009) that this was the very first Morgan to be referred to as an F-Super and was exhibited at shows during 1937 before being sold to a private owner. There are also the Irish registration documents, some photos showing engine work, and a 1985 Morgan Three-Wheeler Club reprint of the owner's handbook. The odometer shows 7350 miles covered. In the same ownership for 22 years. The Heritage Trust certificate that comes with the car records this as an original UK-supplied manual right-hand drive example, in Regency Red with Biscuit interior, being despatched from the factory on the 5 March 1973, destined for Henlys of London. The long-term owner from 2000 had the engine rebuilt around 2001 by Wolf Engineering, shortly after he acquired the car. The gearbox was rebuilt by Dains of Norwich during the last 10 years, and the suspension and steering rack also received attention and, where required, replacement. However, it seems that, during the course of the gentleman's ownership, there was no restoration work carried out. The car was looked after by an acquaintance, who runs a local motorsport business, and also serviced and MoT'd the car. As the owner was a great enthusiast, it was often used for club events, including some speed trials - although, tellingly, if it was raining, another car would be taken so as not to get the Jaguar wet. Reputedly, the car was only used in the dry. The odometer shows 67,742 miles, and the MoT is valid until April 2022. The history folder is huge, with an extensive amount of paperwork. This includes the V5C (which shows nine former registered keepers), MoTs back to 1978 and a huge stack of bills back to the mid-1990s showing many thousands spent. There's also a Series 3 marketing brochure, photos of work done on the Jaguar, the heritage certificate, and booklets, correspondence and guides from events the E-type has attended, assorted club magazines and E-type Register directories from 2001, 2006 and 2011. It seems that pretty much everything relating to this car from around 1995 onwards has been kept. We're told that the car drives extremely well. Being (presumably) an older 20th century restoration, the paintwork does show some signs of age; the bonnet has some paint cracking apparent, while there are marks elsewhere on the body, although overall, it looksvery presentable.
