These earlier cars are known by some enthusiasts as 'Sharkstooths' due to their front valance design. The previous owner had the car for over 30 years and it was restored by him several years ago. The odometer currently shows 71,879 miles, with the car reported as being in good mechanical condition; the vendor tells us that the engine runs well and does not burn or leak oil, or overheat, with recent runs out in the car being 'free of any dramas, breakdowns or unexpected mechanical issues'. The P6 was driven 60 miles to the auction with no issues. The white bodywork is in very good condition and has an original red leather flatpleat interior, which is described as 'very good' - with the door seals, door cards, carpet and rubber mats all in fine order. Just before the vendor bought the car (earlier this year) the previous owner overhauled the rear brakes and fitted new pads - good news for any prospective owner, as these are inboard items, so trickier to work on than the more conventional front brakes. As an historic vehicle, the Rover is now MoT-exempt; its last certificate expired in January 2021 however. The online MoT history shows no serious issues back to 2006, which is when the online history ends. The vendor has only owned the car for a short while, and is now selling because his wife would prefer a more modern classic. The Skoda was converted by the vendor, who had been running a 1300cc Skoda Estelle in Class 4 trials. However, as certain members of his club weren't that happy with it always winning, he then built this Rapid V8 instead to run in Class 7 trials. Among the exterior modifications were a full-length underbody guard and two spare wheels mounted on a removable rear carrier to provide extra weight for traction.

There are a number of previous V5s and V5Cs as well as tax discs right the way back to 1993 - there is a gap between 2012 and 2018 when it seems the vehicle was off the road. The bills and receipts date back to when the car was new, and includes the original purchase correspondence with Toyota. There's also a brochure and accessory guide, a copy of Autocar magazine from 1992 with a feature on the Toyota, and a full selection of past MoT certificates. The Austin now requires refurbishment to return to road use. It starts, runs and drives but the battery isn't charging as it needs the correct control box. All the tyres are now perished. Although the car was manufactured in 1937, it has a registration date of December 1978, as it is believed that the car was either returned to the road or re-registered on that date. The numberplate is believed to be non-original and is also non-transferable. The odometer shows 22,162 miles. He has since researched the car and sourced more up-to-date documentation; in addition, an old owner has forwarded some old paperwork as well. While the car has recently been running, it requires full restoration. The mileage indicated on the odometer is 801 miles. Although the car currently has a Q-plate, the evidence that has been gathered may mean that another approach to the DVLA would result in the issue of an age-related plate. The paperwork includes a present and past V5C, a certificate from the Alfa Romeo Museo Historica confirming the build date, chassis number and UK destination of the car in July 1973, and a letter of clarification from the UK Alfa Romeo Owners' Club liaison officer. As an historic vehicle, it now no longer requires annual testing, but the bodywork and upholstery do need attention and while the engine runs, there's no clutch or gears attainable. The paperwork file includes the present and past V5Cs, original book pack with owner's handbook, dealer guide and accessories booklets, older invoices from 1976 onwards (including the original bill of sale, for £1700), some more recent bills including one for electrical work and an oil change in June 2019. The MoT certificates date from 2008 to 2017 and show very few miles covered each year. There's a set of spare keys as well.
