1965 Vespa VBB2T, 150cc. Registration number HVK 755C. Frame number VBB2T *265852*. Engine number VBB2M *240545*.The Piaggio industrial group were devastated by WWII and post war were not allowed to build aircraft, instead they helped mobilise the Italian public with a new transport concept, the scooter. During trials the buzzing noise of the engine and body shape combined for the scooter to be christened the ‘Vespa’ the Italian translation for wasp. From the launch in 1946 it was such a success that it has become a symbol of taste, fashion and style and is one of the favourite global design icons of all time. The 150 cc VBB replaced the VBA in 1960.HVK was first registered with DVLA in 2018 by Allan Ball and has been subject to a complete restoration along with the addition of period style accessories such as luggage racks, petrol can and leather luggage. 2016 Piaggio Vespa PX125, 125cc. Registration number DG66 BYR. Frame number ZAPM74100000020839. Engine number M741M 1018864.The Vespa P range was launched in 1977 in Milan and became a successful model for Piaggio for almost 40 years but the end of the line was near in early 2017 as the engine would fail to meet Euro 4 compliance emission requirements. A final commemorative model called the '70th Anniversary Settantessimo' was produced as a final farewell to the most successful Vespa range of all time. It had a dark brown leather seat with beige piping and thermo bonding depicting the 70th anniversary logo. The logo is also found on the side panel and a special plaque on the toolbox door. The wheels were also supplied in a special colour for the first time.BYR was bought new by James Cooper in September 2016, he sold it to Wayne Roberts in October 2017 and then our vendor in May 2019. It has covered some 3,343 miles before being put into stored before it first MOT was due, it comes with a limited edition luggage set.Sold with the V5C, one key, workshop manual, warranty and owners manuals, it will need recommissioning due to lack of use.
1974 BSA Ariel 3, model type K2, 49cc. Registration number UCY 600N. Frame number 006329. Engine number 08467.‘Here it is. Whatever it is.’ That was how the BSA Group’s advertisers heralded the arrival of the ill-conceived Ariel 3 in 1970. A tricycle aimed squarely at commuters, the Ariel 3 was powered by a 50cc Dutch Anker engine and featured a clever banking front end controlled by torsion bars, while its closely-spaced rear wheels, which remained upright, allowed the Ariel trike to be classed as a moped. No doubt BSA’s overblown marketing department had concluded that the apparent stability of such an arrangement would appeal to those nervous of riding a ‘real’ motorcycle or moped. They were very much mistaken; the machine turned out to be a disastrous flop, the £2 million wasted on the project playing a big part in precipitating the Group’s subsequent collapse.UCY is a rare apparently complete machine that still retains its orange tinted windshield. It was owned by John Dainty in 2009 who had it MOT'd in 2010 before our vendor bought it in 2017. It will require recommissioning before use.Sold with the V5C, 2010 MOT, 1977 tax disc, copies of the owners handbook and workshop manual.
1963 BSA B40 Star, 343cc. Registration number 369 DJU. Frame number B40 6039. Engine number B40 5042.The B40 was a larger engined version of the C15 and was first produced during 1961 continuing in production until the end of the 1967. It used the same 70 mm stroke as the C15 engine but the bore was increased from 67 mm to 79 mm to give a capacity of 343 cc. In terms of cycle parts, the main difference was that the B40 used larger 18″ wheels front and rear compared with the 17″ wheels on the C15.DJU was owned by Alan Brereton in 2006 before our vendor bought it in 2016. He has replaced the engine and gearbox gaskets. At this time it had just had an MOT at 15,928 miles, today it shows 6,967 miles and appears to have been fully restored and hardly used since, it will require recommissioning before road use.Sold with the V5C, 2016 MOT, receipts for gaskets, workshop manual.
2010 Royal Enfield Bullet Classic EFI Electra, 499cc. Registration number FJ10 FRX. Frame number ME3CKEAT59C000861. Engine number 9US5F000861B.The Royal Enfield Bullet was originally a British overhead valve single cylinder four-stroke motorcycle made by Royal Enfield in Redditch, Worcestershire, but now produced by Royal Enfield Motors, the successor to the British company, at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, in India. The Royal Enfield Bullet has the longest production run of any motorcycle having remained continuously in production since 1948. The Bullet marque is even older, and has passed 75 years of continuous production. The Royal Enfield and Bullet names derive from the company's links with the Royal Small Arms Factory in Enfield, London. The British company produced many noteworthy motorcycles over the next seven decades until the '70s when it folded. Manufacture continued in India, though the bikes were predominantly intended for local use and were not widely exported. In 1995 Enfield of India bought the rights to the name "Royal Enfield" and began renewed development efforts. Modern carburetors, five-speed transmissions and new twin-leading-shoe front brake systems were notable improvements.FRX was purchased new by Alan Day, receipt on file, it is fitted with the lean burn engine, a five speed gearbox operated on the left and electric start. The DVLA shows MOT history in 2015, 2016, 2017 although the vendor assures us that the machine has only covered the 18 miles showing on the odometer as it was bought from the same gentleman as lot 52 and they were display models, help will be given with getting this rectified. It will need recommissioning for road use.Sold with the V5C, purchase receipt, owners manual and one key.
2015 Royal Enfield Desert Storm, 499cc. Registration number LF15 SZP. Frame number ME3CKECT5FK000259. Engine number U5S5FOED064483.The Royal Enfield Classic Desert Storm features a unique “sand” paint scheme reminiscent of the First and the Second World War era - a time when Royal Enfield motorcycles were among the common form of utilities for soldiers in the desert.Since it’s based on a standard Classic 500, the Classic Desert Storm uses the same fuel injected 500cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke engine producing 27.2bhp of power at 5,250rpm and 41.3Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. It is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The tank is finished in post war era graphics, helping create a vintage look.SZP was bought new by our vendor has only covered 417 miles from new, was MOT'd in 2018 at 328 miles and 2019 at 402 miles. It will require recommissioning before road use.Sold with the V5C, MOT and owners manual.
2008 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 with Squire sidecar, 499cc. Registration number FX08 EXC. Frame number ME3BBBSB47C021091. Engine number 7BS521091K.The Bullet, Royal Enfield's signature machine, was introduced in Britain in 1949 as an about-town errand runner and daily commuter. The company went racing and racked up a number of victories in motocross, road racing and trials, proving its worth and cementing status as a legitimate, competitive brand. By 1954, the Bullet's versatility and dependability attracted the interest of the government of India. With the duty of patrolling its border with Pakistan in mind, 800 units were ordered. Evidently, the Indians were pleased enough with the motorcycle's performance to place sizable orders the next two years. This led to the British manufacturer opening a factory in the east to better accommodate this new, vital customer. Within two years, the plant was producing the Bullet entirely from scratch in Madras, India.Ironically, in 1967, as Royal Enfield was thriving in India, the original company collapsed in Britain, falling victim to the onslaught of the burgeoning Japanese marques. But, by then, Enfield India was operating as its own entity, with a steady homegrown demand for its product that ensured fiscal stability and continued growth. This was certainly helped along by the country's population surging toward one billion. The result of this unusual reversal of fortune is that Royal Enfield remains the oldest motorcycle manufacturer still in business with an uninterrupted history of trading.EXC combination has had regular use over the years, shown by the MOT history of 8,180 in 2011, then continuously until 2018 at 17,313 miles, it now has 17,474 miles on the odometer. In 2010 it was owned by Bob Clough and there are many receipts on file during his ownership, including an engine rebuild in 2014 at 14,513 miles at a cost of £950. Our vendor bought it from David Andrews in 2019. It will require recommissioning before road use.Sold with the V5C, keys, owners manual and a history folder/receipts.
2006 Royal Enfield Bullet 349cc. Registration number DX56 HBB. Frame number ME3BABSB46C692394. Engine 6B692394D.Royal Enfield revived the Bullet name in 1948 for a sensational new 350cc sports bike with swinging-arm rear suspension. The newcomer featured an overhead-valve engine that housed its dry-sump oil tank in a compartment in the rear of the crankcase, to which the four-speed gearbox was rigidly bolted in a form of semi-unitary construction. Production of both 350 and 500 Bullets ceased in 1962, though the model was taken up for manufacture under license in India in the 1970s and continues in production there in much-improved form today.HBB was bought new by Antony Nocetti in October 2006, and was not used. In 2017 our vendor bought it from Motorcycle Trading of Reading with 14 miles on the odometer, it was MOT'd with 16 miles. It has only covered 72 miles from new and will require recommissioning before use.Sold with the V5C, 2017 MOT and receipt, owners manual with a service stamp at 14 miles and two keys.
