A 1963 Hillman Super Minx convertible, registration number UFX 61, chassis number B1300286HHCO, engine number B1300286HHCO, white. Originally supplied in 1963 by Craven Brothers in Portland, Dorset to its first owner. UFX 61 stayed in his ownership until 1989 when purchased by the second owner, a Mr Martin Wills of Shaftesbury, Dorset, who retained the car until 1997. During his ownership the decision was made to carry out a total ground up restoration of the car. This work was started but unfortunately after a long time and considerable expenditure due to ill health the car was not completed and sold unfinished to its third owner in 1997, a Mr Silvey of Poole. His subsequently completed the restoration between 1997 and 2003. Finished in white with red interior, it has only been used for club meetings and outings and has been exhibited on the Hillman Owner's Club stand at the prestigious NEC classic car show in Birmingham. Mr Silvey has now had to take the decision to give up driving and hence he is now parting with the car. UFX 61 is now offered for sale having had just three owners, and the odometer reading of 55,000 miles is reported to be correct. It retained its original registration number, tools including starting handle, its original handbook, radio with owner's manual and the supplying agents plaque is still attached to the dashboard. The Hillman will be supplied with a history file containing a number of previous MOT certificates and sundry paperwork. A very collectable car and one of only very few left registered with the DVLA, it offers a tremendous opportunity. ***No RF60***, V5, V5C, ***MOT to August 2018 (not September 2018)*** See illustrations
A 1964/1967 registered Mercedes-Benz 230 SL Pagoda, registration number TGC 157E, chassis number 113042220009990, silver. Unveiled at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show to an appreciative audience, the second generation Paul Bracq designed SL would go on to be a very successful addition to the Mercedes range with 19,831 230 SLs being manufactured by its production end in 1973. The new crisp styling incorporated the Pagoda hardtop, so called because of its resemblance to a Chinese Pagoda roof, a monocoque chassis equipped with all round independent suspension, power assisted steering, assisted discs/drum brakes and a 150 bhp straight six engine with either four speed manual or automatic transmission. This automatic 230 SL was original registered overseas and would receive its first British registration mark in 1967. Finished in a traditional colour scheme of silver coachwork with a contrasting black leather interior, matching mohair softop and works hardtop, she is fitted with the desirable option of alloy wheels and a modern stereo system concealed behind a period radio front. There is a large history file accompanying the SL with numerous receipts for thousands of pounds, previous owner history including a film company and IBM, previous MOTs and sundry paperwork. The vendor advises us that the Mercedes is mechanically good having been fettled for everyday use but he feels that there is some room for improvement in regards to the bodywork/paintwork and interior as time allows. V5C, MOT to June 2018 See cover and other illustrations
