Manuscript owner's insrciption on the title-page 'Pour Monseig l'Eveque d'Alet', stamp 'Archives Hospitales civile de Toulouse' and a cardinalitian stamp.First edition of this celebrated manual for missionaries, by the Bishops François Pallu and Pierre Lambert de la Motte, founders of the Société des Missions Étrangères in Paris. The work was written in response to the instructions received by the Society for the Propagation of the Faith in 1659, concerning the appropiate missionaries' behavior.

The swivel lugs and winding crown are in good condition. Movement is a manual wind and higher-grade 15 jewel lever escapement signed OMEGA nr 4857,286.
