In 1964 the Rootes group revived the Humber Imperial name for its top of the range Humber Super Snipe. The car had vinyl clad roof and automatic transmission fitted as standard. Along with a luxuriously appointed interior featuring fully reclining front seats and separately controlled rear passenger heater. The model also featured electrically adjustable rear shock absorbers to aid ride comfort. Limited numbers were built and it is thought perhaps around 40-50 examples still exist in various states of repair. This Humber Imperial is presented in black colour code 01 and fitted with light grey leather piped with dark grey. Body number SSSH 53105 by Thrupp and Maberly Ltd of London. The vehicle was the subject of a full body restoration 31/05/2016 with invoice present for £4759.20. Complete with workshop manual. Various versions of the car were produced and this particular car is one of the later models a series IV saloon that featured an extra window behind the rear doors and a slightly flatter roof profile. Body number FSF20006. Presented in black with a beige vinyl interior featuring bench seat and column mounted four speed manual transmission with overdrive and power assisted steering. Cosmetically the car has had a fairly recent repaint that was not carried out to the best of standards and could ideally do with a repaint certainly in places if not the whole vehicle (see the condition report). Complete with early green log book and owners manual. Also supplied with some previous MOT certificates (see condition report). Buyer's premium of 10% (+VAT) applies to this lot The panel fit and condition of the vehicle is generally good with the exception of the paint-work which is of a poor standard. Most panels have micro-blistering with the worst the o/s front wing. The scuttle panel is in poor condition with signs of repair and corrosion around both wiper arms. There is a large section of paint missing from beneath the o/s wiper arm and heavy corrosion is apparent. The engine bay of the car is very tidy as is the boot area. The roof and both rear quarter panels have areas where the paint has shrunk and sunk. Both front and rear bumpers are straight but have signs of pitting on both. The front grille has rust on most areas. The interior is very presentable with good carpet set and only one small split in the front bench seat on the back rest o/s approx 1.5 inch long. Wood veneer on the dash is cracked. Period radio fitted. The spare wheel is present along with brace. Front tyres are both Hankook with good tread. Rear tyres are both Pace with good tread.
