1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Two-Door coupé Transmission: automaticMileage:America's best-selling auto maker at the time, Chevrolet did not make any major changes to its post-war line-up until 1949, rationalising the range into two Series, Special (basic) and Deluxe, both of which featured Styleline (notchback) and Fleetline (fastback) body styles. Chevrolet's sole power unit at this time was the famous 'Stovebolt', 3,549cc overhead-valve six, which had continued unchanged for many years prior to the introduction of GM's Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission in 1951. Originally applied to a two-door hardtop coupé version of the Styleline Deluxe in 1950, the evocative Bel Air name was subsequently used to signify a top-of-the-range luxury trim level, commencing in 1953, rather than a separate and distinct body style. Top of the Chevrolet range, six Bel Airs formed the 1955 line-up, though the bewildering multitude of engine, transmission, and convenience options meant that a customer could order a vehicle direct from the factory that was tailored specifically to his or her taste. The Bel Air's basic engines comprised the 235.5ci (3,861cc) overhead-valve six and a 283ci (4.6 litre) V8. Like all contemporary Chevrolets, the Bel Airs offered style at comparatively modest cost. This fabulous example of this iconic American marque was an original west coast car that was sold to a Chicago collector where it was rotisserie restored to a very high standard. The previous owner who was an Orthopaedic surgeon for the US Ski Team purchased the car from the Chicago collector and had most of the modifications done in San Rafael, totalling allegedly circa £110,000. Its 383ci Chevy V8 engine has Edelbrock carburettors and polished Edelbrock performs alloy intake, headers with twin exhausts, also power steering with Eibach front suspension, vintage air conditioning, power assisted dual chamber four-wheel disc brakes, four speed manual transmission, Ford nine inch differential, tilt steering column with custom steering wheel, digital dashboard, stereo CD sound system, leather/cloth seats done to original pattern, cut pile carpets and very nice headliner. Its two-stage paint with Black Cherry and Pearl White combination looks fantastic. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

1972 Mercedes-Benz 280SE (3.5 Litre) Transmission: automaticMileage:17700The first 'S-class' Mercedes arrived in 1968 in the form of the 280S and 280SE which were large comfortable sports saloons offering powerful touring capabilities and luxurious interiors with space to seat five occupants. Known as W108/109 models, they were constructed on an 108” wheelbase and the new S-Class saloons were much heavier than earlier models. The styling was updated using a thoroughly modern design featuring the attractive stacked layout of the headlights which was popular during the period. Although the 280 was usually powered by a 2.8 litre straight six engine, Mercedes-Benz rather confusingly added a V8 engined 280SE to the model range. The 280SE 3.5 had a 3.5 litre V8 engine and came with both automatic and manual transmission and power steering. These saloons were well equipped and extremely powerful. The 280SE 3.5 would reach a top-speed of 125mph and offered effortless high-speed cruising mated with supple ride comfort. Between 1971 and 1972 Mercedes-Benz produced 11,309 examples and they have always been popular with collectors and enthusiasts alike. The 300SE and 300SEL were especially well appointed, featuring burrwalnut dashboards, automatic transmission and power windows. When the eight cylinder cars were introduced in 1970, the standard transmission was the four-speed automatic box driven via a fluid flywheel rather than the more conventional torque converter however, buyers could specify a four-speed manual gearbox. This Mercedes-Benz 280SE saloon is the desirable model fitted with the 3.5 litre V8 engine mated to the four-speed automatic gearbox. Originally painted in Icon Gold metallic, it had a colour change in 1984 and it is now finished in black with Cognac interior and comes with the added benefit of an electrically operated, factory fitted, sunroof. The present owner purchased this car from a deceased estate and then lightly recommissioned it in April 2021 to get the car to start, run, drive and stop, although a full recommissioning of this rare saloon is necessary before being driven on the road. A great project!

Lot 253

1960 MG A Twin Cam Roadster Transmission: manualMileage:42302 Believe to have raced extensively in period Fully restored between 1995 - 2015 Verified by the Australian Twin Cam register The high performance twin cam model of the famous MGA was added to the range in 1958. Available in both fixedhead and roadster versions, the new model could be visually identified by the fitment of knock-on Dunlop wheels and scuttle-mounted badges proclaiming 'Twin Cam'. The new engine boasted a cross flow cylinder head in aluminium alloy, larger SU carburettors and twin chain-driven overhead camshafts whist the displacement was increased to 1588cc, giving 108bhp at 6,700rpm and a top speed of 113mph allied to brisk acceleration. To cope with the increased performance, Dunlop disc brakes were fitted both front and rear. The model was universally popular with 2,111 made worldwide, most in left hand drive format. Presented in Iris blue with black trim and having been extensively restored between 1995 and 2015 at a cost believed to be circa $100,000 Australian dollars, this example was originally registered and sold in New South Wales, Australia in 1961. Acquired by its second owner and Queensland resident Ian Mac Nee and used for spares for the rebuild of another race car before John Pitman purchased Chassis no 2422 as a rolling chassis in 1987 and subsequently purchased an engine from chassis number 1802 from the United States. We believe the car was raced and suffered some damage prior to race driver Rob Barr purchasing in 1989 and thus extensively restored by him before he sold the car in 2015. The car is sold under the identity of chassis 2422 as detailed on the Australian Twin Cam register and found within the history file which is well documented. Its history records that the car was used extensively for racing in Australia and subsequently our vendor purchased it from Gosford Museum in 2018. The car presents well and represents good value, considering MGA Twin Cam’s have been known to fetch in excess of £50,000.

1989 Audi UR Quattro 10V Turbo MB Engine Transmission: manualMileage:139991Audi's headquarters are in Bavaria and the company have been a wholly owned (99.55%) subsidiary of Volkswagen AG since 1966, following a phased purchase of its predecessor, Auto Union, from its former owner, Daimler-Benz. Volkswagen relaunched the Audi brand in 1965, with the slogan or tagline of 'Vorsprung durch Technik' meaning 'Progress through Technology'. The Audi image at this time was a conservative one, and so a proposal from chassis engineer Jörg Bensinger was accepted to develop the four-wheel drive technology in Volkswagen's military vehicle for an Audi performance car and rally racing car. The performance car, introduced in 1980, was named the 'Audi Quattro', a turbocharged coupé which was also the first German large-scale production vehicle to feature permanent all-wheel drive through a centre differential. Prominent wins in rallying proved the viability of all-wheel drive racing cars and so the Audi name became associated with advances in automotive technology.Registered in 1989 this well presented example is the desirable ‘UR’ 10V MB model and is offered in Tornado red over a black leather interior. The paintwork is very good showing little sign of age and the leather interior is in fine order. The wheels have been refurbished and are in excellent order sitting proudly on a relatively new set of tyres with plenty of tread. The Quattro has had just six owners from new and comes complete with a sizeable history file detailing its past. Included in the file is the original book pack and service booklet with many service stamps present as well as various invoices for maintenance work, old MoT test certificates, and the UK V5C registration document. Acquired by the current vendor in September 2018, the Audi has been well maintained and has been treated to minor corrosion repair, notably to the seat belt anchorage points as advised on the last MoT. Only used occasionally in the current vendor’s tenure, he describes the car as sounding fantastic when on song; however due to his ill health the car was placed into a dry storage facility fourteen months ago where it is started and exercised when possible. Interested parties should note that having been dry stored some light recommissioning may be necessary. With MB Turbos offering 197bhp, a top speed of 143mph and a 0-60 time of 7.1 seconds, this is no sheep in wolf's clothing and still has the capability to see off competitors today.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 256

1984 Opel Monza GSE Transmission: automaticMileage:85730The Opel Monza was launched in 1978 and as far of the UK is concerned, it helped transform the image of its maker almost overnight - all of a sudden, it was an expensive and desirable coupé that went as well as it looked. Based on the Opel Senator, this full-sized 1978-86 ‘Autobahnstormer’ was a good looking and well equipped three-door coupé which proved agile despite its bulk. In its top-of-the-range 3.0 litre injected form, the Monza offered dramatic straight line ability, 0-60mph in 8.5 seconds and a top speed of 133mph. In 1982, the range was facelifted, and the GSE with Recaro seats, digital instrumentation and a prominent rear spoiler was introduced in the UK. This became a bit of a cult car helped in no part by Vauxhall dropping its slightly staider Royale Coupé from the line-up and rebranding its saloon as the Senator which meant for a short while, dealers sold the Opel Monza alongside the Vauxhall Senator. This superb example of this iconic hatchback is presented in metallic blue with black velour interior. This car wants for nothing! The previous owner spent circa £100,000 on it and the invoices for all this work can be seen in the history file. It is powered by the powerful and smooth 3.0 litre straight six mated to an automatic gearbox. Electric windows were an option bestowed upon this remarkable car and the history files contains the original sales brochure for the car, owner’s manual and original General Motors wallet. This surely must be the best example of this executive coupé on the market today.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 257

1968 MG C GT Automatic Transmission: manualMileage:74292The MGC was the first 'high performance' version of the MGB as from early in the design stages of the MGB there was an intention to create high performance variants, using a range of Vee engines that did not make it to production. The MGC was very much more than a tuned MGB and in fact was a completely re-engineered car, although still retaining many visual connections to the MGB. On the outside the MGC was often mistaken for an MGB as the only visual differences were in the heavily bulged bonnet with a transverse chrome strip that accentuated the bulges, and the standard use of 15 inch wheels instead of 14 inch on the MGB. Inside there were few differences between the B and C other than the 140mph speedo and tacho with a yellow and red banding set against lower rpms than the MGB. Under the skin however the differences became obvious with most changes up front. The engine was a BMC C series 6-cylinder 2912cc development of that used in the Austin Healey 3000 and Austin Westminster. This required a new torsion bar front suspension along with uprated braking. The gearbox was also a new stronger all synchromesh unit with optional overdrive.Only produced between 1967 and 1969, the MGC GT is a rare car with only 2,034 righthand drive models being built. This lovely example of this rare British GT is presented in red with black interior. Its six cylinder 2.9 engine is a replacement from the original, installed in 2013. There is a letter in the history file stating that one of its owners had bought the engine from a Mr Bowman who had himself bought the engine brand new from MG just as this model ceased production and kept it in a crate. It was subsequently taken off the crate and put into this car in 2013. The bodywork and interior are in good condition and the wonderful smooth straight six engine is a joy.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 258

1989 Porsche 911 SC Transmission: manualMileage:37354The Porsche 911 is a luxury two-door sports coupé with a distinctive design, rear engine and independent rear suspension; an evolution of the swing axle on the Porsche 356. It has undergone continuous development although the basic concept has remained little changed. Throughout its lifetime, the 911 has been modified by private teams and by the factory itself for racing, rallying and other forms of automotive competition and is among the most successful competition cars ever. In the mid-1970s, normally aspirated 911 Carrera RSRs won major world championship sports car races such as Targa Florio, Daytona, Sebring and Nürburgring, even against prototypes. The 911-derived 935 Turbo also won the coveted 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1979. In the 1999 international poll for the award of Car of the Century, the 911 came fifth. It is one of two in the top five that had remained continuously in production (the original Beetle remained in production until 2003) and was until 1998, the most successful surviving application of the air cooled, horizontally opposed rear-engine layout. This fabulous looking Porsche has been an exceptionally well cared for example having had one owner from its original registration date of 1st August 1989 until 8th November 1996 and only one owner since then. Finished in metallic grey with black leather interior and a black hood, this low mileage example is in the condition commensurate with such a low mileage car. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 18th November 2021 and a history folder. Enjoy the rest of the summer in this open top classic.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 259

1952 MG TD Transmission: manualMileage:90762The 1950 MG TD combined the TC's drivetrain, a modified hypoid-geared rear axle, the MG Y-Type chassis, a familiar T-Type style body and independent suspension using coil springs from the MG Y-Type saloon. Also new were rack and pinion steering, smaller 15 disc type road wheels, a lefthand drive option and standard equipment bumpers with over-riders. The car was also five inches wider with a track of 50. In 1950, the TD Mk. II was introduced alongside the standard car, featuring a more highly tuned engine with 8.0:1 compression ratio giving 57bhp at 5500rpm. It also featured twin fuel pumps, revised dampers and a higher rear axle ratio. Nearly 30,000 MG TD'sweremanufactured, including some 1,700 Mk. II models. When the series ended in 1953, all but 1,656 were exported with 23,488 of them to the United States. An example tested by 'The Motor' magazine in 1952 had a top speed of 77mph and could accelerate from 0-60 mph in 18.2 seconds.Exported to the U.S. when new, this MG TD was repatriated to the UK in 1990 and immediately underwent a total restoration; photographs for this can be found within the history file. The car still presents in very good condition today, the engine was rebuilt in 2004 and runs extremely well. The green coachwork is in good order as is the green leather interior thus presenting a delightful example. Supplied with a comprehensive history file dating back to 1990 and a V5C registration document, bills and a number ofMoT test certificates; it sits proudly on wire wheels and in righthand drive format, this MG TD is offered with an attractive estimate.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 260

1990 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5 16V Cosworth Transmission: manualMileage:112077In 1983, Mercedes-Benz introduced the Cosworth 2.3 16V into their range and the new cars were substantially different from the other 190 models. The body kit reduced the drag coefficient and the steering wheel was smaller than that on other 190s, whilst the fuel tank was enlarged to 70 litres. The Getrag five-speed, manual gearbox was unique to the 16 valve and featured a 'dog-leg' first gear. An enlarged 2.5 litre engine replaced the 2.3 in 1988 and offered double-row timing chains to fix the unreliable single chains on the early 2.3s. The power output was up by 17bhp with a slight increase in torque. It is debated whether the 2.5 engine was developed and built by Mercedes-Benz or by Cosworth … interestingly, they were not keen to broadcast the fact that their most sporting saloon car had an engine developed by a British company. The suspension on the 16 valve models is very different from the standard 190 and as well as being lower and stiffer, it has larger anti-roll bars, harder bushes and hydraulic self-levelling suspension on the rear allowing the rear ride-height to remain constant even when the car is fully loaded. This lovely example of this highly sought after model is especially rare being right hand drive and is presented in black metallic with black leather interior. It comes with an electric sunroof, electric windows, electric front seats and cruise control. The present vendor replaced all the door panels and the bonnet as well as replacing the spoiler with a new one and then had the car resprayed in 2018. The car looks superb! The history file contains various invoices from past work including the latest expenditure of £1622 with Steve Redfearn Mercedes-Benz Specialist in Wimbledon. This car has been very well looked after and it is refreshing to see such an example in such wonderful condition throughout.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 261

1967 Volkswagen Type 2 Split Screen Campervan Transmission: manualMileage:75000The Volkswagen Type 2 was introduced in 1950 as a multi-variant utility vehicle, known as the Transporter, Kombi or Microbus (depending on body type), and was devised as an evolution of the Volkswagen Type 1, the original Beetle. The first generation of these versatile vehicles (named the T1) was produced with distinctive split-screens from 1950 until 1967. Only two models were originally offered, the Kombi and the Commercial, the Microbus was added in May 1950, and was joined by the Deluxe Microbus in June 1951. The Deluxe Microbus (known as the ‘Sunroof Deluxe' in America) was the most luxurious version of the Volkswagen Transporter T1. The Deluxe model featured eight rear side windows and two rear corner windows, making it the '15-window' but was not available in Europe. Meanwhile, the European-market Deluxe Microbus, with its additional eight small skylight windows is, accordingly, the '23-window'. From the 1964 model year with its wider rear door, the rear corner windows were discontinued, making the latter two, the 13-window and 21-window respectively. The 23 and later 21 window variants each carry the famous nickname 'Samba' and are particularly revered. This delightful 1967 example of a Californian split screen camper was first registered in the UK in 1973 and has only had two owners since, our vendor having purchased it some 21 years ago in 2000. Presented in a fitting lavender over white with the desirable pop-top roof and bunk beds enabling comfortable sleeping arrangements, this example has had extensive restorations during the 21 years of ownership culminating in a repaint just last year. A look through the history file finds numerous invoices and, importantly, a full photographic documentation of the body restoration in circa 2000/2001 which also included a power steering upgrade; something the owner states transforms the driving experience. The original and sanded, restored Westfalia furniture hides upgrades including cooking hob and leisure battery heating system, rock and roll bed and a modern stereo provides entertainment up front. Long cables for EU and UK hook ups complete the camping kit and we are also informed this example has had a full-service history and passed a recent MOT without any advisories. Boasting a reconditioned 1.6 litre engine with the vendor’s assurance that it has no leaks it is fully ready for those summer excursions or perhaps festivals with friends.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 267

1917 Austin 20 Tourer Transmission: manualMileage:7000Driven by Edgar Wren as a promotional car to secure new orders of the 20hp model, the first prototype Austin Twenty began to take shape in the chassis-erecting shop at Longbridge during 1917 and an abridged specification was published in that September’s issue of The Austin Advocate magazine. Like the Hudson Super Six, the newcomer featured a substantial ladder frame chassis equipped with all round semi-elliptic leaf-sprung suspension, rear wheel brakes, an engine of monobloc construction with in-unit, centre change gearbox and a sheet metal radiator cowl. Two prototype Austin Twenties were readied for 1918, a Landaulette and a Tourer. Road registered as `OB 6912', the latter sported a commodious four-door, five-seater body with a prominent hood well and internal storage for two spare wheels. With dreams of producing 25,000 cars a year, Herbert Austin despatched works test driver Edgar Wren on a nationwide trip aboard `OB 6912' to create interest. With a projected price of just £495 for the Tourer, and thanks also to the efforts of sales organiser Alfred Dupuis who travelled the Commonwealth and was reliant merely on photos and specification sheets, Austin had attracted an eye watering £6,000,000 worth of orders by July 1919. Unfortunately, the company could not fulfil them. The government tax on excess war profits meant that Herbert Austin could not afford to fully equip his expanded factories, there was also a severe shortage of skilled labour after World War One.Without the hoped-for economies of scale, Austin found itself losing money on every Twenty sold and thus had to introduce a `temporary surcharge’ of £100 per car in October 1919. Things went from bad to worse with the global economic slump of 1920-1921 and by December that year Austin was in receivership. The company famously bounced back with the Twelve and Seven models and the Twenty remained in production until December 1929 by which time some 15,287 had been made. This handsome Austin 20 Tourer is a prototype as mentioned above and few cars can have such an interesting history as this one. This extraordinary car was treated to an extensive `ground up’ restoration during the 2000’s with replacement parts being sourced or made as necessary. The bodywork is in great order and the black leather interior has a nice patina. This is a car that perhaps was ahead of its time taking into account the centre gear change and handbrake lever. Other manufacturers took decades to catch on and follow suit. The artillery wheels are in good order and we are advised she runs smoothly and drives well. This 104 year old vehicle is a very rare piece of British motoring history.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 269

1991 Alfa Romeo Spider S4 Transmission: manual Mileage:60900 The Spider designation for the open top sports cars originates from the word, speeder, and a two-person open horse carriage. The Alfa Romeo 105/115 Series Spider was produced from 1966 to 1993, remaining in production for almost three decades with only minor aesthetic and mechanical changes. Widely regarded as a design classic, this fourth series version of production came with further mechanical and cosmetic changes. Mechanical changes saw the introduction of the Bosch Motronic electronic fuel injection with an electric fan and cosmetically, losing its front under bumper spoiler and the rear boot spoiler picking up 164-style rear lights stretching across the width of the car together with colour coordinated plastic bumpers. This achingly pretty Alfa Romeo Spider Series 4 is finished in Rosso with tan interior and comes with a black hood. This low mileage example was dry-stored from the early 2000's and as a result has none of the usual problems associated with the marque. Since acquiring the car, the present owner has set about an extensive program of improvements including re-trimming the interior, gearbox overhaul including synchro replacement, new clutch, overhaul of the suspension and braking system, engine mounts replaced and full engine service resulting in a car that sounds and drives as sweet as it looks. A great Italian classic which are always fun on country roads and good for long tours also. Interested parties should note that a small problem with the flywheel has occurred which will be rectified by the vendor at no cost to the buyer. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Lot 270

1989 Jaguar XJS Convertible Transmission: automaticMileage:51617The Jaguar XJS was a luxury grand tourer produced from 1975 through to 1996 and replaced the E-Type. Although it never had quite the same sporting image, the XJS was actually more aerodynamic with the last one being produced on 4th April 1996; at that stage 115,413 had been manufactured during a 21 year production life. Power came from the Jaguar V12 petrol engine with a choice of a manual or automatic transmission but the manual gearbox was soon dropped. V12 engine cars were unusual at the time with notable exceptions coming from Italian luxury sports car makers Lamborghini and Ferrari. The specifications of the XJS compared well with both Italian cars; it was able to accelerate to 60mph in 7.6 seconds and had a top speed of 143mph.This left hand drive example was recently imported from the USA and is presented in metallic blue with great leather interior and also comes with a new hood. The present owner has carried out an extensive service on the car since its arrival in the UK and it comes with $14,000 worth recent invoices from work carried out in the US. This Jaguar is powered by the mighty 5.3 litre V12 which is mated to an automatic gearbox and as ever with these luxurious convertibles, they drive so well and are extremely comfortable on long journeys. The car comes with its original US Title document and a NOVA letter from the DVLA – a V5 logbook book will have to be applied for.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

1972 Lancia Fulvia 1.3S Rallye Transmission: manualMileage:74256Vincenzo Lancia was born in a little Italian village near Turin in 1881. He was the youngest of four children and he showed an aptitude for engineering first with bicycles then cars. He founded Lancia & C. Fabbrica Automobili with friend Claudio Fogolin in 1906 and focused on vehicle manufacture and motor racing. Lancia enjoyed a reputation for technical firsts in production innovation – first monocoque chassis, five-speed gearbox and the first V6 and V4 engines. His son Gianni took over the company in 1937 and was heavily committed to racing and continuing innovation. His racing obsession was costly and in the 1960’s the company was sold to a private investor before sale to the Agnelli family in 1969.This evocative 1.3S Rallye Fulvia boasting twin spotlights and Cromodora wheels was inspired by Sandro Munari who was a Lancia Works driver, taking the Fulvia to victory in the 1972 Monte Carlo Rally before progressing to the Stratos and although not a direct replica finds many styling cues from the ex-Rally examples now revered by so many. The stickers in the rear quarter windows represent the events in which he competed in period. Presented in the iconic colour combination of red coachwork with black trim, this car is ready for rallies, hill climbs or fast road excitement. The car is fitted with Sparco bucket seats and Sabelt four-point harnesses. Signed by the man himself, this car is sitting on its Irish plates and is in fine fettle with a NOVA number for anyone wishing to UK register the car (taxes paid). We are informed the car is also supplied with a set of four new flared arches should the new owner choose to fit them. Supplied with a copy of the original handbook, Irish and original Italian papers within the history file, running and driving beautifully, and sounding fantastic, this is a great example of a car that begs to be driven and enjoyed.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 273

1973 Austin Mini Convertible Transmission: manualMileage:50999This Mini is certainly one of the quirkiest cars available in our auction. Based on a 1973 Austin Mini 1000, this car is somewhat different than when it was first registered. The chassis has been shortened and the roof removed to produce this striking example. Painted in bright yellow and trimmed in red, this automatic transmission Mini would be at home as a promotional vehicle or just for fun. Potential buyers should note that although we are told this car runs it will require restoration. 1968 Lotus Elan +2 Transmission: manualMileage:75101Launched by Lotus in 1962, the two-seater Elan which had been a classic GT style 2+2 model was developed using a stretched chassis and widened track to accommodate two small rear seats. Improvements to the interior and the addition of front fog lights, in 1969, characterised the new Elan +2S but it wasn't until the much-awaited big valve head engines arrived early in 1971 that the Elan +2 really came of age thanks to the new 126bhp output. Known as the Elan Sprint, the same engine was transplanted into the +2S to create the Elan +2S 130. This version was capable of 125mph and 0-60 in just 7.4 seconds. It wasn't just the rapid performance that boosted Lotus's image but the fact that this model was the first that Lotus chose not to supply in kit form. This example is finished in red with a black leather interior, it was restored in 2000 and has most recently been refreshed and shows a mere 75,101 miles on the odometer. Fitted with a replacement Lotus galvanised chassis and Rotoflex driveshaft couplings, this Elan is presented very well indeed. The paintwork is in good order and the interior is well with both seats, door cards and dashboard all in fine fettle. Offered in SE specification including Weber carburettors, the 1558cc twin cam engine is mated to a stainless-steel exhaust and is reported to be in good driving condition having been treated to new plugs, leads, coil and servicing less than 50 miles ago. Ready to be enjoyed by a new custodian, this Elan comes complete with a history file detailing previous maintenance work, sundry invoices, previous MoT test certificates and the current UK V5 registration document and certainly represents one of the best examples on the market today.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1998 BMW 840Ci Transmission: manualMileage:38469When the Klaus Kapitza designed 8 Series was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1989, it felt like a glimpse into the future with its angular styling. An upmarket range with superior performance and price tag to match, the 8 Series was designed to be a standalone premium model although seen to be the successor to the 6 Series. The 8 Series was offered in 830i, 840Ci and 850i/Ci form and, when introduced in mid-1993, it was fitted with a 4 litre, V8 engine mated to either a five-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. Producing a very healthy 282bhp, this version could achieve the 0-62mph sprint in an impressive 6.9 seconds; importantly with the naturally aspirated V8, acceleration was effortless and refined. Over $1 billion dollars are said to have been spent on the car's design with CAD design and wind tunnel technology. From mid-1995, production phased in the newer 4.4 litre M62B44 engine, which had better fuel economy and more torque, though power output remained unchanged.Originally supplied by the BMW main dealer in Hull, this very good 1998 BMW 840ci has only covered 38,500 miles from new and is believed to have belonged to a Member of Parliament and registered JIA 61. The car passed through a couple of members of his family until it was put into storage sometime in 2009 at approximately 37,800 miles, having always been serviced and maintained by BMW dealers. It was purchased by the current owner in 2019 who had seen the car parked in the garage for ten years and has since put it back on the road. This 840ci finished in silver with light grey leather interior has recently had a service and new MoT and is supplied with a UK V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in June 2022 and the complete handbook pack. BMW 8 Series are certainly becoming a more appreciated modern classic and this example with its low mileage will be quite sought after. What better way to enjoy driving than in this pillarless coupé.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 2004 Mercedes-Benz E320T V6 Estate Avantgarde Transmission: automaticMileage:20300The 2003 E-Class was larger than its predecessors while offering less interior space, particularly in the estate version, than the W210 it replaced. It offered petrol or diesel engines with a choice of rear or four-wheel drive. The redesigned 2003 model featured electrohydraulic braking system marketed as Sensotronic Brake Control (SBC), which was standard equipment in the E-Class. Options included multicontour front seats and dual control air suspension system marketed as Airmatic DC. The 2003 E-Class was offered in saloon and five-door estate car configuration in three trim lines; Classic, Elegance and Avantgarde. The transmission options were five or seven speed automatic or six-speed manual. V6, V8, inline four and supercharged inline four-cylinder engines were offered. This superb example is presented in silver coachwork with black interior trim. This Mercedes-Benz comes with air conditioning with climate control, cruise control, electric memory front seats, electric glass sunroof, CD changer and electric folding mirrors. Its meagre mileage from new is just 20,300 and its condition is totally commensurate with this, supplied with the book pack and the on-board service schedule up to date. This surely must be one of the best examples of this terrific ‘work horse’ from the German manufacturer and its smooth V6 petrol engine is a joy.Guide Price £8,000 - £11,000 Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1974 BMW 2002 Convertible by Baur Transmission: manualMileage:86789The BMW 2002 series is important in the history of BMW for several reasons; not the least of which being that it brought the company out of near bankruptcy in the 1960’s and put BMW on the map in the United States. It was the ancestral grandfather to the BMW 3 Series and was produced from 1968 to 1976. German BMW importer Max Hoffman is credited with the car's creation. He had suggested to BMW's engineering director that a 2.0 litre engine should be installed into the small two-door 1602 to improve performance and emissions. The resulting 2002 (named after the new motor's displacement) was popular in its first year on sale. This BMW 2002 is one of only 354 examples manufactured in right hand drive format. Conversions on these outstanding vehicles were by coachbuilder Karosserie Baur in Stuttgart at a time when ‘wind in the hair’ motoring was rare. Baur retained a ‘T’ bar in the roof design helping dramatically to reduce any scuttle shake. This BMW has been owned and enjoyed by its car enthusiast vendor since 2001. This rare 2002 will require restoration but when done could provide plenty more miles of open top driving. Supplied to auction with a V5C registration document and various bills and receipts, this car is offered without reserve.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1972 Triumph TR6 Transmission: manualMileage:58631The Triumph TR6 was manufactured for seven years from 1969 and by the time production came to an end in July 1976, it was the best-seller of the TR range. The bodywork closely resembled that of the previous model, the Triumph TR5, however the front and rear were squared off and all TR6s featured inline six-cylinder engines. For the US market, the engine was fitted with carburettors whilst, for other world markets including the UK, the TR6 was fitted with fuel injection. It featured a four-speed manual gearbox, independent rear suspension, rack and pinion steering, 15 wheels and tyres, pile carpet on the floors and boot, bucket seats and a full complement of instruments. In total 94,619 TR6s were built of which 86,249 were sold overseas and only 8,370 were sold in the UK.This pleasant right hand drive TR6 was manufactured in 1972 for the international market and was imported and registered in the UK in April 1991. 1969 Jaguar XJ6 2.8 Transmission: automaticMileage:61240Launched in September 1968, the Jaguar XJ6 was the last model that Sir William Lyons had a, hands-on, input into the design. This new model was the result of several years of development and streamlined the extensive portfolio of models offered by Jaguar at the time. This new, reasonably priced car, managed to retain the principles of earlier Jaguars but offered a new level of driveability and safety. It created such a desire that second-hand models were achieving higher prices than new cars on dealership forecourts. These early models have outstanding ability and are considered by many enthusiasts as the purist form of Sir William Lyons’ design. This exceptional magazine featured early XJ6, was manufactured at Browns Lane on 8th December 1969 and was supplied initially to an engineering company based in Wolverhampton which is still trading today. An invoice for the sale of the car from 1970 for £2,468 is present in the history file. Finished in Jaguar Light Blue with dark blue Connolly leather interior, the car still retains all its early production features including chrome dials, straight exhaust pipe finishers, small rear lights, simple battery carrier with attached washer bottle, S1 wheel trims and original carpets. Servicing was initially conducted by the Jaguar factory service department but since 2000 it has been entrusted to Jaguar authorised retailers based in the Edinburgh area, or most recently by ex-Jaguar Classic technicians in Coventry, who carried out a major service and recommissioning work in 2020. In addition, the original engine was completely rebuilt by the respected specialist VSE in Wales, with only 11,000 or so miles covered since. The coachwork was restored at considerable expense by Classic Restorations in Scotland, renowned for their outstanding work on Rolls-Royce and Bentley vehicles. This included many new panels and a full repaint in the highly attractive original colour scheme. A considerable history file with numerous invoices accompanies ECG 438H, including the original owner’s manual and wallet, all the MoT test certificates since 1972, a number of vehicle tax discs, invoices for restoration, servicing and the engine rebuild and a copy of Jaguar World from 1993 which features this car and owner at the time. Offered to auction with a V5 registration document and a fresh MoT test certificate, this is a rare opportunity to own a stunning and highly original early Series I XJ. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1995 Mercedes-Benz E320 Sportline Cabriolet Transmission: manualMileage:84785Mercedes-Benz expanded the well regarded W124 E-Class range to include a stylish coupé version launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 1987, featuring a lower roofline and pillarless side treatment in the best Stuttgart coupé tradition. Built on a slightly reduced wheelbase, the interior was redesigned to accommodate four adults with individual rear seats and unique touches including the automatic arm that offered front seat passengers their seat belts and set the coupés apart from their four-door cousins. With open top cars making a comeback in the latter part of the 1980s, Mercedes-Benz engineers set about adding a cabriolet variant to the W124 line-up, extensively reinforcing the coupés bodyshell to make it more rigid, without compromising safety. In fact, there were over 1,000 modifications to the cabriolet’s body, including a system of protective head restraints, activated by a computer, in the event of a rollover. The hood was typically well finished, with heated rear glass and beautiful fitting, folding into the boot to completely disappear when stowed, while a wind deflector and power mechanism were two extra cost options. This lovely example of this sought after cabriolet model is presented in Blue/Black with a Mushroom leather interior. This Sportline Cabriolet comes with the extremely rare factory hardtop which was a very expensive option at the time and one which is rarely seen on the roads today. The car comes with electric windows, electrically operated hood and has a current MoT test certificate which expires in January 2022. The car is in wonderful condition throughout belying its age. A true retro Mercedes-Benz which is revered as one of the greatest family sports coupés and powered by the smooth six-cylinder, three litre engine, it is effortless to drive.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. After brief backing by Volkswagen, the first model was released by Daimler-Benz in October 1998. Designed on the base of the Fortwo Brabus, this limited-edition example can be distinguished by its bright Intense Red colour and is powered by a 75bhp, three-cylinder turbo charged engine, with a top speed of 150km/h, unlike the other Fortwo cars that were traditionally restricted to 135km/h. By late 1991, under Bruno Sacco, the first design sketches were drawn, with scale models being built in the first half of 1992. Massively successful in its first year, worldwide sales hit 55,000, over double the entire nine-year production of 190 SLs and between 1996 and 2004, over 311,000 SLKs were sold. The roof design consists of a folding steel hardtop with both halves linked by a mechanism which is locked securely when the roof is closed. 1954 MG TF Transmission: manualMileage:2870Originally launched at the 1953 Motor Show, the MG TF was greeted with mixed reactions from enthusiasts and journalists alike. To the Abingdon engineers, led by Cecil Cousins, it was a model that was sufficiently different from its predecessors and yet continued the traditional T-Series classic lines and the end result was very pleasing to the eye. Interior wise and in keeping with the external modifications, the cockpit layout was quite radically different to that of its predecessor and formed a comfortable and pleasant place to be. Individually adjustable seats were provided in place of the normal bench type seating and the facia panel was completely new with a welcome return to octagonal instrumentation. Often referred to as 'the last of the square riggers' the MG TF gained this title due to its very strong resemblance to the pre-war MG Midgets. This lovely example of this British classic is presented in green with tan leather interior, light tan hood and comes with a rear mounted spare wheel and luggage rack. The first owner of this MG was a pilot with the Fleet Air Arm and the second owner was the Olympic British cyclist Brian Sandy who competed in the 1964 Olympics in Japan and it was the third owner (name not known)  who restored the car. These MG motor cars of this era are often used in Rallies both here and in Europe as they are simple to maintain and spritely on country roads.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1986 Mercedes-Benz 500SL Transmission: manualMileage:136313The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class has been manufactured since 1954. The designation SL derives from the German 'Sport Leicht' or 'Sport Light' and was first applied to the 300SL 'Gullwing,' named after the upward-opening doors. The term SL-Class refers to the marketing variations of the vehicle, including the numerous engine configurations spanning five design generations. The Mercedes-Benz R107 and C107 cars were produced from 1971 through to 1989, being the second longest single series ever produced by Mercedes-Benz after the G-Class. The R107 took the chassis components of the mid-size W114 model and mated them to the larger engines from the S-Class (W116) and has become a benchmark of quality throughout the years. This example is presented in blue metallic with beige leather interior and comes with its factory hardtop. It comes with its maintenance booklet, invoices for services and repairs from May 2020 and April 2021 and has a current MoT test certificate which expires in April 2022. 2004 Maserati 4200 Cambiocorsa Coupé Transmission: automaticMileage:80415The Maserati 4200 is an evolution from the previous model 3200 and also a reference to the increase in engine size from 3.2 to 4.2 litres. The Spyder was first unveiled to the public at the 2001 Frankfurt Motor Show with the Coupé's debut following shortly after at the 2002 Detroit Motor Show. Both cars were designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro of Italdesign and were a true four-seater capable of comfortably seating two adults in the back. The naturally aspirated V8 engine was based on a Ferrari unit producing 385hp at 7000rpm; the gearbox is a six-speed unit that was available either as a GT (manual) or CC (Cambiocorsa) using paddle shifters. The Cambiocorsa ('race change' in Italian) is an electro-hydraulic manual transmission that uses a Formula 1 type gearbox with hydraulic operation and electronic management operated by F1-style paddles behind the steering wheel. The gearbox is located at the back of the car with the rear differential giving equal weight distribution between the front and rear of the car and providing better road holding. This stunning example presents extremely well in gleaming black paintwork with a black leather interior. The look is enhanced with grey alloy wheels and red brake calipers. When requested the V8 engine roared into life and we are told the car is a pleasure to drive. The tremendous condition of the car is complemented by a good service history with the majority of the works being completed by either Maserati franchised garages or marque specialists. The most recent service was completed 1,100 miles ago and this Italian thoroughbred has also benefitted from a new clutch. Offered to auction with two sets of keys, a V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until 25th November 2021, this extremely reasonably priced Maserati should generate much interest.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1984 Nissan Silvia Transmission: automaticMileage:88296The ‘Silvia’ name is a variation of the word ‘sylvia’, which is a scientific genus term assigned to a class of birds, possibly a reference to the Bluebird which was in production at the time the Silvia was introduced. The S12 chassis in Europe was badged as a Silvia and available only in the hatchback configuration, few were equipped with a rally package that included a rally foot brace for the navigator, headlamp guards, headlamp dust cleaners, with the same 1.8 litre SOHC Turbo used in North America, and in some areas the 2.0 litre DOHC ‘FJ’ engine. These models equipped with the rally package were dubbed Rally Spec. This rare and iconic 80’s Nissan Silvia has been family owned from new, the car was purchased new by a gentleman who sadly passed away prior to delivery however his wife continued with the purchase and has owned the car ever since. Presented in very good black coachwork with its typically 80’s contrasting burnt orange trim in great condition, this automatic example is described as drives simply lovely. Still showing its supplying original dealer number plates and having covered a mere 88,000 miles it will be truly hard to find another in this condition with such low ownership. Supplied with a recent MoT test certificate, V5 registration document and similar manual example fetching mid-teens, this looks an enticing opportunity for a potential future investment.Guide Price £6,000 - £9,000Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1990 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEL Transmission: automaticMileage:132449The Mercedes-Benz W126 model was the successor to the earlier W116 line and the second generation of the Mercedes-Benz flagship to officially bear the S-Class name meaning Sonderklasse or 'special class'. The model range also introduced many Mercedes-Benz safety innovations, including the first airbag (supplemental restraint systems), seatbelt pre-tensioners and traction control. Six years of development resulted in the W126 model being introduced at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt in September 1979, with design work on the coupé beginning immediately after. Compared to its predecessor, the new model had a sleeker, lower profile look with more aerodynamic qualities than previous models. All were immensely safe and capable machines that were designed to barrel along the fast lane of the German autobahns all day long without a murmur of protest from car or driver. The flagship Mercedes luxury saloon powered by a smooth eight-cylinder 300bhp engine which gave it a top speed of 150mph and achieving 60 in 7. 5 seconds.Supplied new by the diplomatic sales division of Mercedes-Benz in Piccadilly, London on 12th February 1990, this highly specified 560 long wheel base S- class is presented in metallic blue with full blue leather trim. 1987 Mercedes-Benz 300E Transmission: manualMileage:62950W124 is the Mercedes-Benz internal chassis designation reference for the 1985 to 1995 version of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Due to the high cost of German engineering and build quality, the model was designed to last many miles with awards won by high mileage versions. Front suspension is by way of a separate spring and damper whilst rear suspension features the Mercedes-Benz multi-link axle introduced in 1982 on the 190 and now standard on many modern cars. Much of the 124's engineering, along with many of its features, were advanced automotive technology at introduction and incorporated innovations that were adopted throughout the industry. This example is presented in Impala Brown with cream cloth interior. This car currently has an electrical fault which will need a Mercedes-Benz specialist to resolve to get this remarkably tidy example running again. It is in very good condition otherwise, with the interior and paint both in extremely good order. The car comes with some service history which includes 12 stamps in its original Mercedes-Benz maintenance booklet, electric factory sunroof and it has four new Bridgestone tyres.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1983 BMW 635 CSi Transmission: manual Mileage: Karmann manufactured the early 6-Series BMW's from launch in 1976 before BMW took production in house. The most significant technological upgrade on the E24 range took place in 1982 whereafter all models were constructed upon the more advanced E28 chassis right through until production ceased in 1989. This 1989 635 CSi has the pure elegant lines associated with the earlier cars which accentuate the 'shark-nose' design in the absence of the front skirts and the other exterior evolutions which came with the later generations. At the same time, this model enjoys all of the benefits associated with construction on what was then the brand new E28 platform.Offered to Historics by a BMW Car Club member, this restoration project is the very rare manual 635 CSi with LSD (Limited Slip Differential) and we are informed was in good condition prior to the start of a restoration for what was to be finished as a show car for the marque. The car had been stripped and prepared for a full body restoration with the chassis acid dipped and most welding works completed. Currently finished in Etch primer with a huge selection of parts some of which have been refurbished ready for the restoration. Unfortunately, the restoration had to be abandoned due to loss of storage amongst other pressures that comes with life, but our vendor hopes that a new enthusiastic owner can continue where he left off. 2002 Volkswagen Golf GTi (20v turbo) Transmission: manualMileage:58121Launched in October 1997, the fourth generation Golf was elevated to ‘best-selling car in Europe’ by 2001. The absolute highlight was the 1.8litre petrol engine with twin overhead camshafts, five-valves-per-cylinder technology, turbocharger and intercooler. In conjunction with the six speed manual gearbox (fitted as standard to the rare 180bhp version), this engine delivered the exhilarating performance that the ‘hot-hatch’ generation had come to expect.Mr. Routley purchased this three door GTI new from Motorpoint for his wife (purchase invoice present) together with a Service Care Programme from a VW Dealership, where the car continued to be serviced until 2014. Paintwork is Black Magic Pearl with contrasting beige (heated front) leather Recaro style upholstery. The car has been diligently maintained and remains in excellent original, unmodified order throughout. The Montreal alloy wheels are immaculate and the original beige carpets, overmats and headlining appear pristine. The car drives tightly and performance is reported as superb. Timing belt kit & water pump was last changed at 52,506 miles, with less than 200 miles since the last major service and there will be a new MoT test certificate prior to the auction. The comprehensive history file backs up the service book and completes a very impressive package for this exciting and relatively scarce top-specification GTI.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

1966 Morris Oxford Series VI Transmission: manualMileage:60279The Morris Oxford was updated in October 1961 with a new 1.6 litre version of the B-Series engine, longer wheelbase and a new revised look. The Morris retained the Series V dash, while the design share Austin had an all-new fake woodgrain design. The Oxford VI remained in production until 1971 with 208,823 produced. The Oxford range was to have been replaced by the 1967 Morris 1800, but in the event, both were built until Oxford VI production ended in 1971 because, in terms both of pricing and of interior space, the 1800 fell into the market segment of a larger car. At the smaller end of the market the Oxford VI was replaced by the Morris Marina, which also succeeded the smaller Morris Minor.Sold new to Lady Pamela J Goodale on 10th October 1966 who owned the car until 2011 when it was sold to a Mr. Page of Esher, he sold the car to Mr. Heffer of Aldershot and then it passed to the current owner in 2018, a Mr. Woodhouse of Addlestone. The car is presented in very good all-round condition indeed and is offered in Burgundy coachwork with original trim, again in good order. Offered with a history file containing the original handbook including stamped original service book, three workshop manual’s, a copy of the pre-delivery inspection report and V5 registration documents showing the three previous keepers only. Within the history is even two Momo books with logged trips in the car, distances covered, and costs associated, a lovely touch on such a car. Offered with an MoT test certificate valid until July 2022, this is a particularly nice example of the iconic Morris saloon.Guide Price £4,000 - £7,000Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

1997 Jeep Wrangler Transmission: manualMileage:100697The Wrangler is arguably an indirect progression from the World War II Jeep, through the CJ (Civilian Jeeps) produced by Willys, Kaiser- Jeep and American Motors Corporation (AMC) from the mid-1940s through 1980s. All Wrangler models continue to use a separate body and frame, rigid live axles both front and rear, a tapering nose design with flared fenders, a fold-flat windshield and can be driven without doors. Also, with few exceptions, they have part-time four-wheel drive systems, with the choice of high and low gearing and standard are open bodies. This Wrangler was registered in August 1997 and presents well in black. The colour really suits this model and is complemented by grey patterned interior trim. This sport example is well equipped and benefits from a six-inch lift to the suspension, larger wheels and tyres, upgraded lights and has been fitted with a front bull bar. The Wrangler Jeep is a lot of fun and we are told that this is no exception. We are also informed that the car will be offered to auction with a fresh MoT test certificate. Potential buyers should note that a replacement V5C registration document has been applied for from the DVLA.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

1971 Austin A60 Van Transmission: manualMileage:90388The Austin Cambridge (sold as A40, A50, A55, and A60) was sold in several generations from September 1954 through to 1969 as cars and to 1971 as light commercials. It replaced the A40 Somerset but was entirely new with a modern unibody construction. The A40 number was re-used on a smaller car, the Austin A40 Farina, from 1958 to 1967. Initially the Austin Cambridge was only offered with a four-door saloon body and, although a few pre-production two-door models were also manufactured, they did not reach production. It had a modern body design with integrated wings and a full-width grille. Independent suspension was provided at the front by coil springs and wishbones but a live axle with anti-roll bar was retained at the rear, with drive to the wheels by means of a four-speed gear box controlled with a column-mounted lever. This A60 van was originally registered on 21st April 1971 and whilst it has been restored, it clearly has been a well looked after vehicle. The nature of a van is to be purchased for commercial use and as such generally have a hard life, but we are advised this example runs and drives well. To see an Austin Cambridge on the road is rare but to see a van is an exceptionally rare sight. Finished in grey with a red bench seat, this Austin is supplied with a V5C registration document and is offered for sale without reserve.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

PARETO VILFREDO: (1848-1923) Italian Engineer, Economist and Philosopher. Pareto made important contributions to economics, sociology and mathematics. The Pareto principle was named after him. A fine A.L.S., `Vilfredo Pareto´, a bold and large signature, four pages, 8vo, Céligny, 24th March 1904, in French. A lengthy and clean letter by Pareto, stating in part `I depart tomorrow to Italy, I will be back here towards the 15th of April. I have been a little lazy writing articles, and this is the reason why you have not received any…. I still work on my manual, but it progresses like a turtle´, further referring to the political situation in France `People say that Combes will fall, I really regret. Believe me, actually there is nothing worse for the bourgeoisie than getting bogged down in a fake security. Its end can only come from one of the following two sides, either a big European war, or from the revolutionary excesses. It is true that Combes could be replaced by someone worse… Have you seen that the law related to the weekly rest in Italy (it was in fact the Sunday rest) has not been approved at the Chamber.´ Pareto further again makes interesting comments about the Italian political situation, and before concluding states `The courses at the stock exchange of Paris are fully distorted by the arbitrary intervention of the stockbrokers. If the war continues and spreads, you will see what a great catastrophe has been prepared.´ A rare letter of very good content. EXEmile Combes (1835-1921) French Statesman. Combes led the ''Bloc des gauches'', left political parties from 1902 to 1905.

1967 MG B GT V8 Conversion Registration number AAR 521F Chassis number G/HD3-124614 Owned since 1983 Client (an engineer/garage owner) installed a Rover 3500 V8 (understood to have travelled just 1,500 miles at that time coming from an insurance write off) Manual with overdrive Garage stored for many years Will need re-commissioning Old MOT certificates 1983, 1985-87 For sale due to a house move and ill health Last taxed in 1987 as not practial as a family with four children V5 (notes original 1798cc engine) Starter motor failed, client has fitted one but had to cut the exhaust pipe to access/fit From the owner: The rear axle is the later one which is of a higher ratio, The gearbox came from the same vehicle an is the 4 speed with overdrive. I cannot remember the year of the doner vehicle that these parts came from. The bump on the bonnet can be eliminated by fitting an Offenhauser manifold and mounting the carbs on the back of the engine ,trouble is it takes the power down from 232 BHP to 128 BHP, I could put up with the bump no problem its like driving an E Type. I have an exhaust system here at home that I made 25 years ago from scaffold tubing that will last a lot longer than anything on offer today for the MG. Its a real pain to fit but it will fit the car.
