Titanic interest, Naval Engineering.- Blake (Frederick John. RNR); an illustrated manuscript manual and diary relating to engines and boilers of naval ships, circa 1901, including HMS Grafton, HMS Bacchante, HMS Scout and HMS Scylla, together with details of torpedoes and warheads, containing hand coloured technical drawings, written in very neat hand, half morocco over patterned boards, oblong, 4to. Frederick John Blake R.B., R.N.R., was the Superintendent Engineer of The White Star Line at Southampton. He oversaw the engineering activities of the Company and the engineering departments of Company ships from Southampton. Blake selected the engineering crew members for The Titanic including his good friend, the Chief Engineer Joseph Bell, He was responsible for informing the families of engineering staff of their loss. Frederick John Blake's grave at Compton, near Winchester, is modelled in The Titanic Engineers Memorial in Southampton's East Park.

Chirurgie francoise ..., avec plusieurs figures des instrumens ..., 3rd edition, Paris: Olivier de Varennes, 1610, title-page printed in red and black with printer's woodcut device, old name or stamp erased in blank area adjacent with some resultant paper thinning and loss, engraved illustrations to text, some spotting and old dampstaining, a few scattered ink library stamps, closely trimmed, edges stained red, contemporary calf gilt, rebacked with original spine relaid, edges neatly repaired, 4to Third and last edition of this manual for barber-surgeons, and considered the most important French surgical book of the sixteenth century after Pare's 'Dix livres de chirurgie' (1564). The first and second editions of 1570 & 1573 are both very rare. (1)
A 1987 Ford Escort 1300 L three door, registration D918 APF, chassis number SFABXXBBABHK23590, engine number HK23590, Maritime blue. With 18,470 (not 18,000) miles from new, this matching numbers time warp condition Escort had one lady owner until June 2015, with two registered keepers since. The car was supplied by Page Motors (Leatherhead) Ltd to Aldersons Garage the distributing dealer to Mrs H J Taylor. Mrs Taylor would use Aldersons for all of the Fords servicing during her ownership (service book containing 14 stamps), with the last being carried out on 04/02/14 at 18,110 miles. Presented in very original condition with its dealer supplied owner's wallet containing the stamped service book, owner's handbook, radio operation manual, warranty booklet, and Ford dealer network guide. A 1975 Triumph Stag, registration number HRV 726N, chassis number LD/35079-O, engine number LF/028934-HE, body number T.35140/35274-LD, Java green. This desirable manual overdrive Triumph Stag has covered a low 60,000 miles from new. The car was supplied by Mann Eggerton & Co Ltd, Bury St Edmonds, Suffolk to Mrs P M Fellows from Saxmundham, Suffolk, who purchased the Stag for £3,786.29 including optional extras of tinted glass, a laminated windscreen, reflective number plates, underseal and radio fitting, less a part exchange allowance of £1,725 for a 1972 Triumph Stag. The Stag is very original with matching numbers and is finished in a very distinctive 1970s Java green coachwork with black vinyl interior, a mohair hood and works hard top. The accompanying history file contains the original Passport to Service, with a stamped record up to 45,566 miles (1990), original owner's wallet with handbook and leaflets, a Heritage certificate, photocopies of previous V5s showing the three previous owners prior to the vendor, receipts, past MOTs and the original bill of sale from Mann Eggerton. This genuine low mileage and very original Stag has been in the vendor's collection for the past 16 years and is now only for sale due to him rationalising his collection. A 1957 Sunbeam Talbot 90 saloon, registration number RRK 420, two tone blue and grey. This rare and desirable manual overdrive example has only had two registered keepers from new. The second acquired the car in 1984 and it was last on the road in 2014. The car was fitted with new tyres all round for the last MOT in 2013. From the last year of production RRK 420 (transferable) is fitted with a very original grey leather interior, steel sunroof, original radio and the original toolkit. The car runs and drives but since it has been in storage for the last couple of years it would be advised that a programme of light recommissioning should be carried out before taking to the road.
