A THREE-PIECE ORMOLU-MOUNTED MINTONS OR MINTONS STYLE PORCELAIN DESK CLOCK SET, LATE 19TH CENTURYin Neoclassical taste, featuring turquoise-glazed and gilt porcelaincomprising:a) a desk clock, the rectangular body mounted with an allegorical figure of Juno, holding a crown and sceptre and leaning on a shield, attended by a putto, with a peacock by her side, atop rectangular base with canted corners, mounted on a rectangular clock base with scrolling acanthus and ribbon motifs, suspending drapery centered with frames, supported by four reeded tapering legs, the clock dial featuring an allegorical love scene with a pair of putti; height of figure: 40 cm (15 3/4 in.), overall height: 62 cm (24 3/8 in.)b, c) a pair of five-light candelabra, one missing the candelabra arms, formed as a young boy and girl atop conforming csquare bases atop four feet, the scrolling acanthus arms holding classical swagged urns, with flame-form finials; height of each figure: 21 cm (8 1/8 in.), overall height of each: 52 cm (20 1/2 in.) CONDITIONThe beaded borders at the base of Juno slightly detached. The candelabra missing from the "girl" figure, as shown in photographs. Large James Deakin and Sons silver plated epergne, c.1900, the central trumpet with pierced rim, above a large shallow bowl, upon a reeded column supporting three scrolling branches with conforming smaller trumpets, raised upon a triangular pierced base with three scroll feet, with marks beneath, JD & S, EPNS , and 'desk bell', T9518, H69cm - Condition Report Good overall condition, some light wear including surface scratches, small indentations and some tarnishing.
19th century gilded desk set, comprising pair of candlesticks and globular inkwell, each detailed with seated hounds to the stepped circular bases, candlesticks H19cm, inkwell H12cm - Condition Report All with wear commensurate with age and use, including scratches, rubbing to gilding, and some small knocks throughout. One candlestick slightly bent and leaning to one side. Glass inkwell a later example.
A 19th century Northern Continental roll top desk, pierced three quarter gallery over a drum fronted tambour sliding cover, opening to reveal a fitted interior or drawers and extending slide writing surface, three drawers below with cock beading and cast brass ring handles and escutcheons, the corners supporting decorative columns with gilt capitals, raised on short tapering square section feet, 103 by 53 by 118.5cm high.
