The high hinged back having wing sides and adjustable iron ratchets to set the angle. The long padded arm rails incorporating wrought iron rods at the front which extend to support a reading desk, above canted block posts. The large rectangular seat having a feather filled cushion above well-turned ball & column front rail and legs united by a conforming H-form stretcher. 50 ins (127 cms) in height, 27 ins (69 cms) width of arms. [A similar example in `Oak Furniture, The British Tradition` by Victor Chinnery, p. 256, Fig.3:61].
