A Good 17th Century Oak Desk Box. The sloped lid with moulded book rest, hung on iron butterfly hinges and opening to reveal the date; 1673 and initials; LP carved in a roundel to the lid's underside, above two drawers and secret sliding trays fitted to the back. The front board carved with undulating vine bearing clusters of fruit, 14½ ins (37 cms) high, 26½ ins (67 cms) wide, 18 ins (46 cms) deep.

Pierrot écrivain - Unique Automaton Unique Automaton -Pierrot écrivain- squelette by André Soriano This fantastic piece was made for the Musée National de Monaco by the famous clockmaker and curator of the Galéa collection to demonstrate how the famous Vichy piece works. He not only copied the look of the automaton but created his own mechanism to make sure it would stand daily performances over years. As any specialist can see, this is built for eternity, with the finest clockmaker skill and materials, and is completely different from the fragile mechanism of Vichy, Bertrand or Bailly. Look at the detail pictures. A piece of Art. Story The Pierrot sits behind his desk and is writing a letter to Colombine. His head is moving and his hand with the feather pen is gliding over the paper. The real flame on the petroleum lamp fades away and his head falls down, his eyes close and the Pierrot is falling asleep. Steck Duo-Art 1.60m Grand Piano This is a very late (approx 1930) instrument in an ornate mahogany case with cabriole legs and attractive music desk and pedal lyre. This instrument is electric only and it has all the desirable control features of the late type Duo-Art. The piano has recently been almost fully retubed and some pneumatics have been recovered where required. The piano action and stringing are in good unrestored condition. Some key tops have become loose and are missing so the keys should be recovered to look good and for hand playing. The piano plays very well and is very enjoyable to hear.
