A pair of chromed metal desk lamps by David Hicks, 1970s, with bulb fitting, 39.5cm. high by 40.5cm. wide by 14cm. deep (2) David Hicks is a notable contemporary designer who furnished many houses around London including a private suite in Buckingham Palace for H.R.H. the Prince of Wales. These lamps and the following three lots were reputedly removed from a London house which was furnished by the designer.

An Edwardian lady’s mahogany kneehole desk, the whole inlaid with boxwood and other stringings and crossbanded in satinwood, the low superstructure with cast brass gallery and shaped centre inset with bevelled mirror panel flanked by two small drawers to each side above leather lined writing surface, the bow-front and break-front base fitted one central drawer flanked by four drawers to each pedestal, on eight square tapered legs with brass toes and castors, 44ins x 23ins x 38ins high (surface somewhat water marked, leather surface damaged, and in need of restoration)
