Fine 19th century majolica ware desk set in the form of two thrushes sitting on bird’s nests on a dished base with rustic twig central handle, the removable birds revealing inkwells complete with liners, the whole decorated with hawthorn blossom on a cobalt blue ground, with yellow line border, the base bearing the monogram of George Jones painted no. 3296 above a cross and Registration mark for 1871
A fine 19th century rosewood veneered pedestal desk, with ormolu stringing, fitted four drawers above the opening mechanism writing flap with two drawers, the pedestals each with three drawers with ormolu capped Corinthian columns, a cupboard in the kneehole, 5ft 6in (168cm) wide, 44in (112cm) high, 34.25in (87cm) closed.
A good quality Victorian burr walnut veneered davenport desk. The galleried top revealing a fitted writing pen tray, the writing slope revealing a fitted interior with satinwood veneers. Four graduated false and four drawers with wooden knobs to the side. The whole supported on S form carve column supports. Raised on bun feet. 22 x 22 x 34" .
A late 19th/early 20th century mahogany Sheraton Revival lady's desk, having a swans neck pediment above an open shelf with aperture below and flanked on either side by two short drawers, each with brass drop handles and oval backplates and being satinwood crossbanded and boxwood and ebony strung, in turn above the green leather writing surface and moulded edge and fitted with two frieze drawers to the base and standing on tapered legs of square section being boxwood strung and terminating in castors. Width 39ins.
A late 19th century George III style mahogany kneehole desk, the rectangular top with moulded edge being boxwood strung and in turn above a central drawer flanked on either side by four short graduated drawers with brass swans neck drop handles with shaped backplates, brass lock escutcheons and boxwood stringing to each drawer and with central recessed panelled cupboard door and all standing on bracket feet. Width 33ins.
A late Victorian mahogany and walnut roll top desk, the rectangular top with chamfered edge with plaque beneath inscribed "W. Stahlschmidt & Co., Manufacturers, Preston, Ontario, Canada" and in turn above the tambour front opening to reveal pigeon holes and leatherette covered writing surface in turn above a central frieze kneehole drawer flanked on either side by a further shallow drawer and each pedestal fitted with a hinging swivelling cabinet enclosing drawers and pigeon holes and with plinth beneath and raised on castors, each drawer with brass drop handle with embossed backplate, the whole with panelled sides and panelled back. Width 60ins.
An Edwardian mahogany kidney shaped desk, having a tooled leather surface with moulded edge surrounding and fitted with one concave kneehole drawer flanked on either side by four short drawers, each with brass handles and shell and scroll carved drawer fronts and with two panels to either side with further foliate and scroll carved mouldings and all raised on short cabriole legs terminating in scroll feet and castors. Width 50ins.
