An early 20th century gilt brass desk timepiece, with barometer and thermometer. Width 12 ins. CONDITION REPORT: The clock movement appears to be complete and untouched. It is however fully wound and not currently ticking. The movement is not particularly dirty. The barometer does appear to be operating, it is currently sitting at 75. The thermometer tube is complete and again appears to be operational. The case is in generally reasonable condition. There are minor scuffs and marks to the black slate which appears to have a lacquered finish to the surface. There are one or two edge chips. The brasswork to the front is showing signs of perishing to the original finish and lacquer. The base and feet are original and intact. The silvering to the thermometer dials is in reasonable order with some slight discolouration and the odd surface scratch. The numerals to the dial are again showing losses to the paintwork. All three rear doors are quite badly scratched and one is dented in places. When the piece is moved around the pointer on the barometer moves which may indicate there is something not quite right here. It is now back at 73.4.
