Inverted geometric moulded drawer with spacious interior over a pull out writing board section with two smaller pull out sections to the flanks. All raised on canted edge square legs. Complete with key and original label. Some wear to the escutcheon and minor wear throughout but overall in very good condition. Measures approx; 156cm x 47cm x 36cm.

The Davenport having a brass pierced gallery top with leather writing sciver and sliding top. The hinged lid opening to reveal a spacious interior with maple lined drawer fronts and turned handles. The side / interior featuring a pull out pen rest and inkwell storage section. The top section slides forward with faux drawers and functioning pull out leather slide and bank of four drawers to the otherside with ebonised turned handles. The piece raised on carved gadroon bulbous feet. Complete with key for top section. No visible makers marks. Measures approx; 87cm x 50cm x 62cm.

Below a single low drawer over a knee hole recess flanked by a single bank of four graduating drawers to the right with each having brass handles. Reeded columns to the left with all being raised on brass castors. Wear commensurate with age throughout with a loose handles and chip to underside. Measures approx; 78cm x 107cm x 58cm.

2 Early 20th Century table desk lamps to include a brass art deco anglepoise lamp with patented shade stamped 'RdNo684666' and an adjustable articulated Art Nouveau lamp with a floral pink tinted shade and a whiplash form to the base of the arm. 33cm high and 30cm high.Condition report: Both lamps are of substantial weight for their size, the brass lamp has areas of patination mainly to the edges of the shade and circular knobs either side of the joints. There is also a small dent to the top of the shade. The pink lampshade is in good order however it is loose from the fitting and requires a nut to secure it firmly. Even patina, signs of age, some surface scratching and areas of grime on the surface.

A FIRST WORLD WAR NAVAL SOUVENIR. A desk ornament with central bullet shaped upright on a circular base engraved 'A PIECE Of 6" GUNSHIELD H.M.S. MERSEY RUFIJI 1915'. HMS Mersey was a Humber Class monitor built by Vickers for Brazilian Navy but purchased by the royal Navy in 1914, the ship fared well at the battle of Yser in 1914 and bombarded troops and artillery positions off the coast of Belgium in 1915. The Rufiji river in German East Africa saw HMS Mersey take part in the destruction of the German light cruiser Konigsberg.

A brass bound mahogany writing slope with flush fitting carrying handles to either side and brass corner mounts and straps, the interior with baize lined writing surface, the lid containing the removable book rest for fixing to the lid when propped open, with a recessed key and two triangular headed bolts for fixing the desk to a surface for security or when at sea, the lower section with a sprung panel released by depressing a false screw head, revealing three concealed drawers, the base similarly sprung to reveal a further concealed compartment, and spaces for coins. 17.5cm high, 51cm wide, 17cm deep (closed).

The desk having brass brackets, with two long and six short drawers, central cupboard, complete with brass carry handles, approx 123 x 73 h cms. Note: Former property of Sir Denis Spotswood GCB CBE DSO DFC, (26 September 1916 – 11 November 2001) was a senior commander in the Royal Air Force. He fought in the Second World War as a flying boat pilot and then as a coastal reconnaissance squadron commander during Operation Torch, the invasion of North Africa. He served as a station commander in the late 1940s and early 1950s before becoming a senior air commander in the late 1950s. As the Chief of the Air Staff in the early 1970s he had a major role in implementing the defence savings demanded by the Heath Government in the face of economic difficulties at the time.
