A 1930'S PARKER DUOFOLD JUNIOR FOUNTAIN PEN, translucent orange barrel with a translucent green and orange striped fade to the cap, two gold coloured cap bands and a crystaline cap end, made in Canada, the pen measures 115mm in length and 13.5mm cap diameter (in Parker box), together with a 1930's Parker Duofold Ladies desk style Fountain Pen in burnt orange with three gold coloured cap bands and loop cap end, made in Canada (2)
An ivory desk thermometer, mid to late 19th century, the top with gadrooned and beaded step rims above a pentagonal column housing a thermometer graded from freezing to fever heat, all on a raised circular base. Height 10.7 cm. (The now vacant top section would have housed either a compass or small sundial.)
A large late Victorian roll top "city desk", panelled all round and with well fitted interior. Width 184 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The desk is in need of a very good clean. The top has numerous old ring and water marks. There are several scratches and scuffs. The panelled sides are generally very dry. The right hand upper panels have several old screw holes where things have been attached to the desk. We are not sure what. There is also a drill hole which would probably have been made to allow a cable. The left hand side panels are not drilled but equally dry. The rear panels are dry also. The interior seems to be generally all present. There do not appear to be any missing drawers or panels. All drawer and pigeonhole fronts are marked and little tired looking but there are no significant losses. The writing surface is again dirty and scratched in places. The right hand slope front support has a small supporting corner bracket made from aluminium. The roll front will only come currently half way down but appears to be in reasonably good order as far as we can see. We have the key. All drawers are a little scuffed and marked as are the panels to the inside of the kneehole. The plinth base is scuffed as one would expect. It is however a large and substantial looking desk. The problems really are only cosmetic rather than structural.
A late Victorian/Edwardian Sheraton Revival satinwood combined writing desk/display cabinet, in the manner of Edwards & Roberts, the base demi-lune and raised on tapered legs of square section terminating in brass ball feet. Width 101 cm. CONDITION REPORT: In our opinion there has not been a pediment to the top of this piece. The cornice has minor nibbles at the corners. The cross banded frieze beneath is in good condition at the front and the right hand side. There is a tiny veneer loss to the mahogany banding right at the rear edge. The front door is not warped. There is damage to the veneer around the lock escutcheon. The remainder of the super structure is in generally good order with only very minor veneer nibbles and small surface scratches. All drawers run as they should. The handles appear to be original. The tooled leather writing surface will be a later replacement. The panels around the writing surface are in good condition as is the moulded edge. The frieze to left and right is in good condition. The drawer front has minor scuffs along the bottom edge. The handle is brass and likely to be a replacement as the others are wooden. The legs are in good condition generally with only minor blemishes and small nibbles. We can see no evidence of any woodworm. The back boards are original. In our opinion the piece has not had any significant re-polishing or repairs. The drawer linings are mahogany. The backboards and carcass appear to be hardwood also.

A Victorian mahogany pedestal desk, with gilt tooled leather writing surface, rounded corners, three frieze drawers and three further drawers to each pedestal with wooden knob handles and raised on a plinth base. Width 107 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The desk is in generally fairly good condition. The non-original tooled leather writing surface is in generally very good order with only minor small scuffs and marks as one would expect. The mahogany surround is of good colour and again in good condition with very minor marks. All drawer fronts have the usual minor nibbles to the veneers particularly around the corners and where the drawers meet the runners. All drawers run fairly smoothly with little lateral and vertical movement. Both sides of the desk are in good condition with no significant splitting. The plinth base has the usual old surface scuffs and marks. The desk is structurally sound and could be used in its current state without the need for any repair or restoration. We can see no evidence of any woodworm.
