A silver hallmarked 1920's Art Deco era desk calendar being raised on a plinth base with three windows for day, date and month on printed fabric, with reeded knob turning knobs to the sides with an angled top engraved with a a crest, engraved to the verso and dated 1922. Hallmarked London (date mark rubbed). Measures 17 cm high x 12 cm wide x 6 cm deep.

A rare and large Moritz Gottschalk model 2248 Blue roof Dolls House with original contents, German circa 1893-94, with paper red/ochre brick effect exterior, standing on a green base with front garden and fencing, steps leading to double French style front doors painted in orange and with glazing, decorative balcony above with similar doors and fanlight, four glazed bow windows to façade with ornate decorative mouldings and two further balconies and a central attic style window, pitched roof with two large chimney stacks. Front opens to six room on three levels all with good original papers to floors and walls, two hinged interior doors and original drapes and paper blinds to bay windows. Sitting room includes a Rock and Graner tinplate oval table, Waltershausen settee, chest of drawers, sideboard, four chairs and footrest, Mantle clock and desk, fireplace with mantle, tinplate coal scuttle, gilt wall clock with pendulum and various ornaments and pictures, bead and metalwork chandelier, and two dolls. Kitchen with wooden table, dresser, selection of pewter and kitchen ware, gilt soft metal bird cage with wax parrot and another, various ornaments and two dolls. Lounge with Waltershausen tapestry stretcher (one lid to base missing), chaise lounge, chest of drawers, bureau, mirror on stand, various chairs, rosewood chess table, soft metal sewing stand, pair of corner hanging shelves, bead and metal work chandelier, various ornaments, pictures and two dolls. Dining Room with Waltershausen chest of drawer and mirror, soft metal fireplace, chest of drawers, three matching chairs, soft metal magazine rack and stand, wall mounted clock, bead and metal chandelier, various ornaments, pictures and a doll. Attic room with a cherry wood marble top table, wardrobe, various chairs, tin bed, screen and more, (condition: some staining and minor tears to exterior papers, interior in good original condition), 39” (99cm) tall, 37 ¾” (96cm) wide and 23 ½” (60cm) deep. A German walnut and ebonised desk, early 20th century, by Vereinigte Werkstatten, with bead mouldings throughout, the top with rail gallery to the rear and with green and gilt tooled leather inset above a frieze drawer and flanking moulded cupboard doors, one enclosing a shelf, the other an arrangement of three slides, the reeded sides and back with central further mouldings, all on acanthus carved tapering legs, the underside of the kneehole stamped V.W. for the workshop and serial numbered 3183, 84cm high, 172cm wide, 82cm deepCatalogue Note: Inspired by the British Arts and Crafts Movement, the Vereinigte Werkstatten fur Kunst in Handwerk (United Workshops for Art in Craft) was established in Munich in 1898. It expanded rapidly, producing not only furniture but also all other items for the home, including wallpaper, textiles and lighting. Notable designers associated with the workshops were Hermann Obrist, Richard Riemerschmid, Bruno Paul, and Peter Behrens. It moved to Bremen in 1910, where Rudolf Alexander Schroder was a significant designer for the workshops and where, particularly from the 1920s, the production of furniture and fittings for ocean liners became a major feature of the company. A 19th century bureau desk with drop-down desk top with interior drawers and pigeonholes with small turned knobs, narrow frieze drawer above three drawers to bracket supports, height 111cm, width 101cm. CONDITION REPORT Age-related wear in the form of scratches, scuffs and small indentations, some fading to the drop-down desk top. Age-related splits to the side, missing piece of left rear bracket support, approx 2.5cm in height, resulting in some instability to the bureau.
A group of nine shipping-related commemorative wares including two Continental silver bowls, a wooden dish with plaque inscribed 'Timber ex H.M.S. Arethusa', a wooden desk weight inscribed 'Original wood from deck of Dufferin', a Steamship Company Speciality Supply glass paperweight, a cigarette case with plaque inscribed 'H.M.S. Renown', a salt with plaque inscribed 'H.M.S. Lancastria', a small trinket box with plaque inscribed 'R.M.S. S.S. Arcadian' and a Lamport & Holt Line green floral printed saucer dish (9). CONDITION REPORT Some surface wear throughout, as you can imagine, heavy tarnishing to the cigarette case and the metal pieces. The only bit of enamel that is damaged is on the H.M.S. Lancastria salt, where there is a small loss to the band, otherwise general surface wear. Provenance: this lot is from a private collection in Surrey and the vendor's father taught at Liverpool Maritime College many years ago.

Eastern Telegraph Company Limited 1889 Varnished wood Letter Opener/Page Turner. 335 x 35 mm. Maps printed on both sides, with calendar for 1889 in gold on black on both sides of the finial. "This desk accessory, designed for use as a map page turner or letter opener. The Company was based in London and were part of a network creating communication routes around the UK and across the Atlantic in the late 1800s. Some damage to the varnished map section.
