Life Guards Victorian Helmet Desk Ink Stand. A very fine quality executed miniature Life Guards helmet complete with enamel decoration to the Victorian crown helmet plate and highlighted with gilt. The upper half opens to reveal a glass ink well. The helmet is raised on a Sheffield Silver plated plinth (Now Copper Colour). Overall GC Height 8 inches.
Eastern deeply carved foliate decorated slope fronted desk top stationery cabinet, together with an inlaid mahogany rectangular shaped box. (2) (B.P. 21% + VAT) Stationery box - loose, partially missing lock. No key. Loose hinge. A few worn holes. Small cracks to base and piece broken off from base - piece present in the drawer. Travail français, poinçon de maître de la Maison Cartier, numéroté. Dimensions : 9,5 x 9 x 12 cm.Dimensions de la base : 11 x 10,5 cm. Il faut bien remarquer que le modèle que nous présentons fut précédé dans les années 1910 par des pendulettes plus petites en volumes et rehaussées d'émail et de diamants. [Pearse (Padraig)] Saint Enda's (Scoil Eanna) an early 20th Century oak folding Children's School Desk, with inkwell, with stamp underneath "Scoil Eanna" in rectangular box. Unusual and Scarce. (1) Scoil Eanna was set up as a secondary school for boys in 1908 in Ranelagh by Irish Nationalist and 1916 Proclamation signatory Padraig Pearse.
